If you pass on the 2 pack, I don’t blame you, & we can still be buds.
Exactly the same. I had a bunch of thoughts I was about to type out in response but then I realized there's probably a thread somewhere around here more appropriately dedicated to this kind of thing...so I won't clog up the Earthrise thread with my TF buying woes lol.

If they had managed to hide the wheels in the legs by flipping a panel it'd been even more awesome. I can understand the wheels on the back, they've pretty much exhausted all the free space in the torso.
Interestingly enough, they left the wheel hinge from Siege Prime's legs which allows you to rotate the wheels to the other side of the lower legs on Siege Prime, in Earth Rise Prime's legs, but negated it completely by adding the back panel.
So, yes, potentially they could have made it to hide the wheels, but chose to disable the option for some reason.

I think that reason was 1) to save money and 2) to give the figure a nicer looking back than Siege since the Siege version had so many negative comments on the top of the truck hanging out on his back. The panels they added clean up the back of the legs in bot mode and was probably a cheaper option than re-doing the legs completely.
My perfect prime would be the legs and ab wheels from Siege prime with Earthrise primes upper half somehow merged into a single figure.

I had the same backpack issues as most when I first saw the figure. Looked like a pointless light bar and panel and honestly it still is, but once in hand its not as egregious in robot mode as you may think.
Also I'm surprised nobody has designed a replacement part for him. The light bar panel is completely unnecessary in either mode, and a replacement bar could be made so the vehicle mode looks more G1.
All it does is hold on to the front of the truck mode. So a thinner panel without the lights can be made to serve the same purpose and produce much less of a backpack. The truck front would then be visible on the back but what you gonna do.
But yes, the tires collapsing into the torso where the arms used to be is a great bit of engineering, bit not sure whether I like EarthRise's side panels better or not. Its difficult to choose. Both have things I like and both have things that bother me.

Might get Barricade as a rank filler, idk.

The Datsuns all look so good together though. Hopefully Amazon Canada gets it together and actually releases the delayed Prowl/Ironhide 2 pack. Finally got word my Smokescreen is in so I guess he'll be the first of the new mold for me.
Back to Barricade, I keep hearing that there will actually be 2 different decos, one being in the Netflix line? It will be interesting to see the difference if true.

I've had great luck with Amazon... So he was "packaged" in a mailer envelope...
And yet is in basically perfect condition!
I'm going to start looking for Bluestreak. Probably this evening.

Siege torso, shoulders and head.
Earthrise legs, lower arms and doors (never mind the door connecters are different between the two versions).

I don't have any ER Datsuns and don't intend to get any, so I could be remembering wrong, but aren't the legs completely different shapes too? I don't think that proposed combo would be able to transform at all.

It's really only an issue in vehicle mode. If you're going for robot mode aesthetic, it can be done.Deadput wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:If it did, you would get a car with a low, flat round front and a high, square back.Nemesis Primal wrote:Deadput wrote:I wonder if it's possible to part switch ER and Siege Barricades to make an ideal Barricade, so here's what I'm thinking.

Robot mode is more important of course, I was initially thinking of this part swapping to have the benefit of giving Barricade a distinct car mode from the Datsuns that fits the 2007 character.
The Siege Barricade/Smokescreen head certainly looks more sinister then the Earthrise version so at least the head sculpts will be distinct across the 4 characters.

depends, if you absolutely want to ensure you get him, then buy him now. I will wait for the canadian release. And if it doesn't happen, so be it.

Having to pay more than a deluxe for runabout kills him off for me and then I have no need of wave 3 Runamuck so that's money saved.
Headmasters are tempting for the Japanese decos at £80 but something new and shiny wins over versions of something I already have for the most part, dampens the temptation.
*thruust, not much point not being able to get the other seekers so I'll stick with my classics that I'm also missing seekers from... hard to believe brand spanking new G1 (reissues) were the easiest to get out of all the toylines.

That really surprised me too, it took an hour and 20 minutes to sell out after it showed up in the store. Maybe it actually caught people off guard enough scalperbots weren't actually ready for it

I'm just glad he doesn't have the halfassed turbofans that Henkei/Generations Thrust did. Remember those?

I haven't got my Overlord with me (since I'm at college), but I have noticed how similar their alt-modes look since I picked up Snapdragon a couple of weeks ago. I've been wanting to compare them, so thanks for the image!

If it means they don't get shortpacked, or otherwise are hard to find, then they can take up as much space as they want, in my view.

They won't get shortpacked. Target exclusive figures generally come in solid cases. Leadfoot was packed that way, at least.

Mine also has a big quality control issue where one of the pink pegs won't snap into the white hole on the inner armature of the car hood and front fenders. It prevents the fender side panel from pegging in correctly, leaving a huge panel line gap and making it impossible to roll the car flat on its wheels.
I have similar issues with a panel on mine, and I do feel the plastic on the backpack could be better, but the figure itself to me is better than the T30. Her hands can hold more weapons and she can stand in better poses. Plus she has a 5mm port on each foot so she can Weaponize a bit. I wish they could have merged the two, the ER figure with the T30 backpack and Face.

I like that Micromaster set, it's cute how they've still managed to complete the Decepticon Race Track Patrol even though Barricade is someone completely different now. I'll either pre-order the Micron set or buy the Earthrise Wave 2 Micromasters (the Astro Squad and the Race Track Patrol), but not both because I don't want my shelf to be over-run with too many Micromasters.
It's nice to see the Deluxe Headmasters being made available again, I never owned Chromedome or Brainstorm, but I did used to have Hardhead and Mindwipe years ago and they were good. I may skip them purely for the sake of conserving money and shelf space, but regardless I'm happy the moulds are getting another run.

The Micromaster pack is kinda disappointing to me, so money saved for other releases.
The Headmasters I did not see coming at all. Neat they found a way to bring the Legends tooling over stateside. I’d probably get just Chromedome so I can put the original Titans Return one on my IDW shelf along with Rewind (who’s in storage somewhere )
