The added piece of speculative news is that Warden is talking in front of a banner that seems to contain the War for Cybertron new logo and graphics, including a first line ending in -GE (as well as a -GY at the bottom, probably standing for 'trilogy'). Take a look below for yourselves, and speculate away in the Energon Pub as to what -ge ending word this first part of the new series might be: Siege? Rage? anything else entirely? Let us know, and stay tuned for our coverage of the event later this month!

Speaking of which, I wonder how many WFC/FOC reissues we would get? Either as part of the main line, or as something-or-other exclusives?

My guess is probably around zero?

Its not like we'll ever see the toys in the UK unless we order from Kapow or BBTS anymore anyway...
I'll probably jump back on with War For Cybertron. I skipped the whole Combiner\Titans\Prime trilogy. I started to quite quickly feel like I was getting characters I wanted, but with gimmicks I really didn't, so I stayed clear.

I think the first line is different. The font is too big to fit Golden Age above War For Cybertron, if we assume they're the same length. From the way it looks, the word ending in -GE is only 5 or 6 letters long. I think Va'al might be onto something with his guess of "Siege." It is a form of battle in war. My first guess was "carnage" but that might be too long, and I don't think Hasbro would put that on a box for a kid's toy.Sabrblade wrote:You know, that might actually be a very good guess.Ultra Markus wrote:i bet it says

It's also a trademark that Hasbro recently used, why use it only once?

I had made the same guess, but came to the same conclusion, it just doesn't fit the font size. It seems like they're going back to the Unicron Trilogy naming convention and using one-word titles (Armada/Energon/Cybertron). Transformers: Siege does make sense in that way, as does Rage. I'm sure we'll know in about a week.

I think he just meant the single word by itself, since the logo in the video has the "-GE" a the end of the series name.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:When did they trademark and use siege?

Normally they can't trademark single words like that, but Hasbro has been known to recycle parts of old trademarks for newer ones.

What seems to be shown is the silhouette of an Optimus Prime recognisable figure, with smokestacks on its shoulders and an axe and a gun in its hands, and an indication to follow the Hasbro Pulse newsletters and accounts for more information during the event - but we know that the best content will be on our front page as soon as images are allowed to be posted, so stay tuned, and in the meantime, speculate away on this new figure! Is it War for Cybertron, another exclusive, part of those Amazon listings, or something else entirely?

I don't think so. This one doesn't have as bulky of a backpack, his chest proportions look different (PotP Optimus has the huge chest windows), the arm panels have a different shape and his head is a bit different - this silhouette has a taller "mohawk" and the smaller inner antennae seem to have disappeared. These are things that could just be from different angles but it looks like a new mold to me.
I'm also just hoping for a new smaller mold with no gimmicks at this point but I could be wrong. We'll see in about a week.

Make a new mold of Optimus Prime - Profit!
Paint that mold black and sell it again - More profit!
Paint that mold purple and set it again again - Even more profit!

This isn't an exclusive, it's a teaser for a new figure being revealed at SDCC.
I'm really surprised people would even entertain the idea that it's the new MP considering all the kibble on the arms and back. This is definitely a main line figure and since it's likely for War for Cybertron it may not even be a form we've seen before. The large flat panels on his back suggest he'll have a self contained trailer like PotP Prime, he still has smokestacks on his back, and that axe is MASSIVE, just look how far back the blade is from the handle.
Knowing how much Warden loves G1 I would really like to see his take on Prime's Cybertronian alt mode from the Marvel comics.

The shoulders and smokestacks are not PotP.
The Knees have a pad shape, that isn't on any current Prime.
He's too wide to be TR, not large enough to be PotP, and the wrong overall shape for CW.
He's almost certainly a new mold, likely for War for Cybertron, that will be released in a premium version for SDCC, much like they did for the Matrix of Leadership Optimus Prime for SDCC 2011.
Whether it will be lavishly G1, or a modern interpretation remains to be seen.

Autobot Roadburn wrote:Kind of hope he's just a new, simple voyager Optimus figure. I like the Classics one but if they could outdo it with a new Optimus without a gimmick and isn't a triple changer I'm into it. With how intricate and impressive Punch/Counterpunch looks I'd imagine they could do some impressive stuff with this.
I disagree about Punch/Counterpunch (I don't think that figure's very good at all) but a new voyager Optimus Prime with no triple changing or Titan Master or any other unnecessary gimmick might be nice. Classics Prime is still my G1 Prime representative on my shelf and yeah it's getting old but I just haven't seen anything better suited as of yet for that size class.
