Cartoon Network Youtube Channel has uploaded a couple of new clips from Robots In Disguise. These clips however are not from any season 1 episode so it is likely these are our first look at season 2. The two clips are entitled "Knock, Knock" and "Power of Dibs" and feature Drift, Sideswipe, Fracture and some Mini-Con action which introduces us to Cyclones which are unaligned Mini-Cons. The two new Mini-Cons introduced in the clips are Backtrack and Ransack. We recently seen toy reveals of Backtrack and also Overload. Check out the clips embedded below.

So, we have...
  • Autobot Mini-Cons = Buzzsaws (disc/puck-shaped)
  • Decepticon Mini-Cons = Torpedoes (spike-shaped)
  • Neutral/chaotic Mini-Cons = Cyclones (sphere-shaped)

Well, this could explain Overload, as well as possibly give a third rogue faction causing general anarchy. Maybe we can get our favorite anarchist busted out (in time for his toy) to join them?

Oooor, maybe it's another one episode wonder to be banished to the stasis pods and forgotten. :-P

Do you guys remember Zizza, the queen bee who behaves like a tyrant? Well, what is interesting to me is that Zizza has the same color scheme as Bumblebee and that her head and face is very similar in build as Bumblebee. Is it safe to say that Zizza will be likely to be or will be revealed as Bumblebee's mother who recently left his family to become an full-blooded animal from her original car form? :BOT: :CON:

A third rogue faction would definitely shake things up, especially with unpredictable dangerous minicons, though I feel Slipstream will be successful in doing something and those minis will just get locked right back up :BOT:

Interesting, sounded quite a bit like Frank Welker doing the voices for the Cyclone Minicons, but I know a couple of VA's that can mimic some of his voices, I guess we'll see.

Also I initially thought CN would not be airing Season 2 until the spring of 2016 (around the same time season 1 started earlier this year). This gives me slight hope they might be coming sooner. Additionally, I'm not sure if season 1 has finished in Japan yet, but usually if episodes are ready, they will only take a 1 week break (usually airing a recap episode of some sort) in between. If Japan starts season 2 ahead of the U.S., I know where I'll be going for new episodes ;)

Dibs!

What?

I mean I just can't even.

You do know that Cybertronians are made by the Well of Allsparks right?

There are no parents or family members outside of the possibility of Twins if she possibly was Bumblebee's "mother" don't you think Bee would know?

So no Zizza is just a one off villain that has some resemblance to a human Bee.

You know, I`m so glad to see that Overload will indeed make his debut in season 2. But the question remains is this: will new animal-based Decepticons that transform into vehicles make their appearances for the upcoming season. or that this is just enough characters for Steeljaw to form his own army once they`re fully released? Well, by the looks from it, we now already know that Fracture who was in jail has recently made his escape. But how did he do it? Remember the upcoming Quillfire toy in which Hasbro just recently released just weeks ago? The image shows him holding a pistol with his left hand. This could mean that Quillfire will return in Season 2 with a pistol. Because so far, we've only see him using missiles as his weapons. It can also mean that all of the captured Cons so far will return for Season 2, including Pseudo himself. Speaking of Pseudo, many of us are extremely curious to know what his altmode might be like. I actually thought about that for a while, and using the recently Hasbro concept: animal-to-vehicle transformation, I actually have predicted that Pseudo will most likely turn into a bike identical to Arcee, but fully black instead of blue. Remember the picture of the bike that I had just showed you a while back? That's exactly what I meant. The name, Pseudo means fake in either Greek or Latin. But given the idea that these animals can turn into vehicles, Pseudo's official vehicle mode might mostly likely be a moto, which means motorcycle for short. Do you think that Pseudo should be a bike? Why and why not? I do already knew that the Mutacons do turn into spaceships. That's all. :CON:

That's not Overload that's just a drone as far as we know Overload is a toy only character who was based on the Drones in the show.

And Quillfire's toy means nothing and absolutely does not suggest he is coming back if that was the case wouldn't the beast hunters armor actually be in the show?

And since Pesuedo is a shifter I doubt he has a proper alt mode plus he looks a bit big to be turning into a motorcycle although he is a shifter he could make it work but at the same time why be a motorbike when he could be a tank or a car or a jet?

Okay, look. Perhaps, this might help. Here are list of vehicles that Pseudo most likely transform into:

-car
-bike
-jet
-boat
-tank
-bus
-van

Which one best suits his altmode? :CON:

I think its more like which one he prefers at specific moments.

Since he is a shifter I'm sure he would take full advantage of turning into whatever he pleases or needs in any situation.

Please assist to refresh my memory. I watched all the episodes, but only once through, and that was way back in May when they all went available online. (I keep waiting for Netflix to add the 1st season grr..., here's hoping for December). But which episode featured drones identical to the Overload toy?

The fake dream Decepticons Micronus brought to kill the illusion humans.

Difference between them is that Overload has a proper head and maybe is a brighter blue then the drones.

Edit: Here I dug up a post Sabrblade made so props to him for the research!

Sabrblade wrote:Overload appears to be based on the cartoon model of the illusionary Decepticon that Micronus used to train Optimus in the Realm of the Primes back in "Out of Focus", but given a proper head.

This isn't to say that that illusionary Decepticon was Overload, or that Overload might appear in season 2 using this cartoon model. Rather, it's just to show where the design for Overload's toy comes from.

Likewise, Backtrack is based on the spherical Mini-Cons this illusionary Decepticon was equipped with.

Well, from I do already know the Mutacons has a spaceship altmode, and had Makeshift entire body was fully revealed, and had he not been killed in the first place, then he would be a Cybertronian jet identical to that of Megatron's, but with a slightly different body.

Therefore, I'm pretty sure that given the information above, Pseudo has to have an official altmode for his original robot mode. Perhaps we will find out more about it when season 2 arrives. :CON:

Yeah, their voices sounded to me like it could be any of the following: Frank Welker, Steve Blum, Dave Coulier, Jason Marsden, Dee Bradley Baker, etc.

Though it's probably just someone who's already on the show like Will Friedle, Roger Craig Smith, or Khary Payton.

*shrug* Like you said, we'll see.

Is this fanfiction or was this actually said by Hasbro or show staff?

If he even returns I honestly doubt most of the Decepticons will escape their cells in season 2 but It's pretty much guaranteed that they will be focusing on new Decepticons in season 2.

Upon reading Steeljaw's official bio, Steeljaw was sentenced to prison for sedition before escaping. That means he ordered every citizen on Cybertron to rebel against their government ruled by humans and not by animals. Does that mean that Steeljaw is actually an animal rights activist himself, since that the majority of all Decepticons for this series are animal Transformers? :CON:

He means the new clips Cartoon Network put on YouTube. They're region-locked.

BTW, KissCartoon has a much better offering of episodes.

Because Steeljaw orders every citizen on Cybertron to rebel against their government that is currently ruled by humans, does that mean that he is an animal rights activist, which might explain why the majority of the Decepticons for this series are animal-based? :CON:

You're reading too much into this man. They look like animals because that is the aesthetic that they chose to go with. Plus this is a new generation of cybertronians, and Steeljaw just wants a place for cons to live on their own. And cybertron is not ruled by humans. :BOT:

Okay, since you think that Steeljaw isn't an animal rights activist, what about Quillfire? You saw what he did to the animals at the zoo. He let them go, meaning he hates zoos. That's what animal right groups do: they oppose zoos, circus, and aquariums because they compare that to dictatorships. Based on this belief, would you rather consider Quillfire an animal rights activist or an animal supremacist?

Speaking of Quillfire, upon seeking the Chinese dub for RID online, I've notice that the voice actor who voiced Quillfire is mostly likely the one that voiced Filch, as compared to the original American version. Wait? Was Filch supposed to be female in all versions? :CON:

I'd assumed that the Deceptions we've seen are a new wave of Prime Predacons born in a post war society, hence their bestial forms.

It does carry a dodgy connotation that ALL the prisoners aboard the Alchemor are Cons. Even if they are just dangerous and cause property destruction like Grimlock, this implies that Autobots just slap a Decepticon logo on all the troublemakers, regardless of the war factions.

Then again, It's unlikely that this show has the teeth to consider the implied moral grayness of the Autobots.

I'd put Quillfire down as more of an Anarchist, albiet a somewhat clueless one. He's against authority wherever he sees it and expresses that with random acts of "liberation" and graffiti.

Anarchist man, not activist. Those were the first animals he saw and decided they needed liberated. Like when Springload started kicking old carousel horses: he didn't know what they were nor cared. same with quillfire. plus both are insane.

So can we please let this rest? Hopefully season 2 stuff starts coming out besides the few clips we got. I'm excited for it to start again, and hopefully it doesn't get cancelled at 19 episodes and keeps going :BOT:

I used to conclude that Decepticons are what they call criminals on Cybertron now that the war is over, but that's sort of the equivalent of categorizing a graffiti tagger as a Nazi. Perhaps Shockwave's pulling some strings? I mean, he had his theological dispositions ass-raped by the f**king devil reanimating the dinosaurs, but that doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't stopped being a Decepticon. I'd think he'd be the first to take Megatron's place if Starscream wasn't around.

Or, you know, maybe Shockwave is Fracture's father or some shit.

Adding to the previously reported Transformers: Robots in Disguise clips we saw here, the official Hasbro site for the show has uploaded a couple more (Back and Forth, The Tragedy of Slipstream, Two Plus Two Equals More, A Level Playing Field), showcasing the new Cyclone mini-cons entering the scene in Season 2 - check them out over here!

Sweet, but I wonder if this means the Cyclones are Short-only characters or if this will have any impact on S2. My guess, is not.

Regardless, I love seeing the Minicons, usually backup characters, get the spotlight. And the Cyclones with the turret guns make we wana dig out my Armada Dead-End figure now...

That was great! Cute and hilarious. "I invoke THE POWER OF DIBS!" Hope we see more of these guys in the new season.

If that's not Welker doing the Cyclones, it's someone doing a very good impression ;-)

Yeah, when it was just the first two clips by themselves they seemed like preview clips for a season 2 episode, but now that we see all six videos together forming a complete story of their own, this was probably just a series of shorts rather than chopped up previews for a new episode.

Though, "The Tragedy of Slipstream" gave a nice nod to the Binder of Revelation's saying that Mini-Cons were native to Cybertron's moon by the short's depiction of Slipstream as having originally lived on Luna-1.

I love how Airazor says "Sometimes he smiles!" when referring to Fracture in Back and Forth. This was a very entertaining set of shorts, but I doubt that they're previews for anything in season two.

Yeah, this is a lot of fun if you're a fan of the mini Cons. They've got a very Rumble/Frenzy Vibe of mouthy trouble makers. Plus it's neat to see internal loyalty with the Cons, like Groundpounder had to Headlock or Terrashock had to his boss.

Come to think of it, it's interesting how RiD's marketing division is pushing the minicon theme. This series of shorts, the game update, the recent additions to the toyline....do I smell an arc for season two? :-?

And then Season 3 gets cut down and sublined "Minicon Hunters" arbitrarily...

Wait...
