Thanks to In Demand Toys on Facebook, we have our first look at the box for upcoming Transformers Movie Masterpiece MPM-08 2007 Megatron. We also have two new stock images which shows him in his robot mode and vehicle mode. These unflattering shots give us a better idea of the finished product. In robot mode we can see him fishing forming his cannon. In vehicle mode, we see that the mode is achieved more or less with Megatron doing a Superman stance with an alien nosecone in front of his face. Of course, there may be some mistransformation involved. The MSRP is said to be $159.99 USD and he will be available in September later this year.

Let us know if you like this toy and this design for Megatron, and if you look forward to including him in your collection.

Well, I immediately noticed that they've managed not to turn his head crest around. They really should have stuck to the other photos(they made him look much prettier).

and let's be honest here

the Superman thing? that was pretty obvious from the movie in itself. plus if they did in some other way, I don't think we would've had the same result. the Superman thing is a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things in order to make this figure that much more better

I’m not really sure whether his head in the picture is mistransformed, or it was the concept art head and they’re giving us the option to have him with it. Looking good though

Wow! After JUST re-reading the MP-44 news, and seeing such a beautiful, clean design, this thing looks like a hot mess! haha EASY pass

The more I see of this figure the more I am finding myself definitely looking forward to getting a design that looks more like the in-film model. I'm sure it will look great on my Bayformers shelf for sure. ;)^

I never really cared for the jet design, but the robot mode is looking fantastic.

Wow... he looks like a jumbled mess of crumpled aluminium foil.

Masterpiece? Meh.

Anyone notice how the mistransformed head looks like the concept art? I'm pretty sure that was meant for jet mode. Somewhere, I read that it was based off the ILM designs that Takara had, and therefore the jet mode is not 100% accurate to the movie. But the fact that you can convert between the concept head and movie head is pretty flipping awesome :michaelbay:

I'm not sure why they're even making this. Did everybody stop hating the design some time in the last 12 years and forget to tell me?

The box looks cool, but these new stock pictures don't do the figure justice.

Haha, its for those who like the films and grew up on them. Those who hated the design then still hate it but there have been new and different TF fans since then and this is for them.

Based on the other figures released so far, it looks like they are making their rounds with the 2007 cast. Can't wait to see future figures if that is the case!

Enough fans left to take a gamble... Or rather, fans who dislike the design, yet get the toy anyway for the sake of having it

His paint-job should be darker like what is shown on the packaging :BANG_HEAD: , but otherwise I think it's going to be a great figure and ican't wait!

Personally I didn't like the movie designs when they were new and radically different from the norm. But now that we're 12 years and six movies in they've become the "new normal". I don't look at them at all the same way today as the way I did in 2007, they're just another aesthetic that exists and I've grown to enjoy.

Wonderful explanation, a round of applause to you :APPLAUSE:

For me, the literal only reason I exist here now is because of the live action films. Otherwise, I'd be full on Marvel or something. But as a kid, I was fascinated with the movies and toys, so they hold a special place in my heart. I eventually learned about G1 and everything else, and I love it. But for Bayformers, I really like them, so designs like 2007 Megatron and ROTF Devastator are fine for me, especially when executed well on a figure.

Also, I think ROTF is an ok movie, not as bad as other people say(or TLK)

It Ultimately lead to Prime Megatron, which was one of my Favorites.... so it all worked out in the end.
