Thanks to our own Stormrider for letting us all know that there are new picutres of MP-05 Megatron including a side by side shot of Megatron next to the packaging, a detailed back shot as well as what could be a transformation sequence for the head or what could be a "G1" head mode.

Front Paged and Credited Stormrider, thanks for the heads up. This has done nothing more then wet my appetite for MP Megs even more.

I also can't wait for the Sport Lable TFs as well. So much appeal to them, I just don't know what to do with myself

Actually, that's a "Srorts Label Transformer", if one looks at the label closely.

Is that a typo?

It comes out at the end of the months so I would guess late March early April.

Most people don't have a huge problem with it. Just comparing it to the other MPs in the line make it look rather weak is all. I like that he has skinny legs like G1 Megs. Gives it a nostalgic feel.

Anybody know if the shoes can actually be worn by a child? That would rule all. It would sure beat out all those other fads we see with the roller sneaker thingys and stuff. This would be the coolest of all shool grounds!

Both of them look awesome. I must have. I'm very suprised at how cool the robot mode of the sneakers look.

well glad you like it. I can't wait to get mine. do you think that the head gimmick is more of a battle mode than a g1 toy head. I think if the eyes could be visible it would count as a g1 head. I mean't the critics who hate for being small. weel you could agree with me that since it is based on the gi toy so it will be small. sucks that they never will come out with a mini-bots master piece box set. or even a grimlock or a hot rod. masterpiece soundwave? I wish. right.

No, it's based on G1. Compare this to the alternate head:

They could if they weren't packed full of transormer parts. They are making a kids shoe with Transformers logos on them. That's just as good to a kid. (mind you I would have given anything in the world to have Gretskys shoes from "Pro*Stars" :P

I really don't think it's a G1 head because there are no eyes to it. If it is suppose to be a G1 head that TT is getting lazy, bug time. As for another MasterPiece, I would see it being another big player in the series. If there were to do one, they could easily re-paint Starscream into one of the other seekers. But if it were to be an original mould... I would guess Grimlock, Rodimus or Galvatron. I could even see those three being next in line for the T.H.S. treatment. Who knows, we might get a nice teaser from what ever is included in MP-Megatrons contents.

From the looks of it, that would probably make the most sense,as it dosen't look enough like his G1 toy head to be a good representation.

One thing I was wondering about the orange cap thing...I thought I might have heard that the end of the scope would have one, too....like it is on Classics Megs. Am I right about that...or is it just more orange cap paranoia?

The Megatron figures we will be shipping into the states also will not have the orange cap on them. I bring over all mail personally and ship from a US address so these don't leave my hands until they are shipped by UPS. I don't think there is anything to fear with these.

Hope that helps.

So, if you're worried about customs, I think this is the way to go.

CapturePrey.com is from U.S. Kentucy and they are also shipping unmodded and so is RobotKingdom.com. So if they ship within the U.S, that means it's safe? I hope so. I hope both my orange tip and unmodded Megatron come in one piece.

Well, once they get inside the country, there's no customs to go through. Customs checks items coming into the US via any type of shipping. Once it's inside the continental US, UPS doesn't really check for anything like that.

I don't know how CapturePrey and RobotKingdom are getting them into the country, but I know how ATAU is getting it in. He's basically driving them across himself.

I think those pictures are just to show that Megatron's head and helmet are not going to be the same as G1 Granny Helmet. Takara has recently been getting into the habit of showcasing a little bit of the transformation in order to tease and tantalize use.

In all honesty, I really think the best thing to do when trying to get a unmodded Megs is to *not* preorder one. That way, the stores will have them in stock, meaning they're already in the country, & therefore you don't have to worry about giving them your money & then find out your toy got confiscated.

Actually thats not a unibrow at all, its meant to convey that his brow is over shadowing the eyes, and back then it was easier to make that look with black ink, but sadly it makes him seem to have that Unibrow instead of protruding brow..

Actually i have it on authority that the orange cap will not be the actual barrel of the gun, but will be attached to the already molded barrel. so the guns length will be a little longer then what we have seen.

Then you got the a bad batch of Starscream or something because mine is plastic perfection. Top quality plastics, better then anything used in Cybertron or Alternators for that matter. Plus mine didn't come with any of the unfortuante mis-haps others had like two left hands or no arm cannons.

i think the issue is how thin a lot of starscreams parts are. if they were truly chap plastic, theyd bend , ir just snap in half like a cracker. thin as it is, it realy is good plastic. just doesnt feel like it to those whovenever actualy worked with plastic before

if hasbro did bring this fig over, i get the feeling a lot of the realy thin peices might get replaced with vinal.

either way, i dont see that many super thin parts on megs, just a very few actualy

On the bright side, Hasbro said they wouldn't use this mould. Mind you, that's not to say they wouldn't use the prototype mould. Anything Takara makes Hasbro has access to and vice versa (sp?) So if Hasbro were to issue a MP Screamer which would prolly becalled Anniversay screamer or something along those lines, it wouldn't be the same thing fans have seen from the MP line.

In the past, I agree that Takara and Hasbro may have shared the molds but that is not necessarily the case now. Each mold would have it's own contract between the two companies, which indicates how long can it be used, where can it be marketed and sold, how many figures can be produced, and at what price.

For instance, if Takara designs a figure completely on their own and invests their money solely into the project, then they have little reason to share the mold with Hasbro for free. In a situation like this, it would be more likely that Takara would either sell the rights to Hasbro to produce the figure, than to share the figure for free like in the past.

In the past, Takara and Hasbro worked on projects together and shared the costs because the projects are expensive. In that case, they probably signed individual contracts agreeing to share the mold and share the market to sell the product.

However, now Takara can fund more projects on their own now that they have merged with Tomy. TakaraTomy may decide not to share certain molds with Hasbro, in order for TakaraTomy to corner the market.

Hasbro indicated at Botcon last year that they gave the TakaraTomy ideas to do MP Starscream, but I haven't read anything to suggest that they worked on the project with Takara or helped fund the project. I am sure that Hasbro would like to use the MP Starscream mold, but Takara may prevent that.

Lets all hope that it won't be like that, i for one am ready to see an accurate Masterpiece Star Scream, and I have it on good authority that the cap is slightly permanently affixed to the barrell of megatron, I. E. easily snapped off if need be..but ssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... don't let it get around to the "toy police" or M.A.D.D. or what ever that toy watch dog group is called.. LOL they probably have a watch counter and a wanted poster of megatron masterpiece in their Lair.... err I mean.. head quarters, that is counting down the days until release...and a red phone hotline directly to customs in case of emergency..LOL

It sickens me how this country has become so focused on P.C. and Saftey to the point that one day i see us all walking around in rubber suits, eating vitaminized food, and drinking purified water with no beer, alcahol, or cigarettes in sight, so we can't get hurt or hurt ourselves because the Government knows what's best for their citizens..ofcourse that would put many attorneys out of work.. :-?

You're right, Hasbro dropped them the idea and it was all TT that did the work. More so the guy who designs Gundams. I was under the impression that even now they share designs between the two companies, but I would assume you're right in saying that they couldn't use the others designs without paying some sort of fee for the use.

So... I gather it doesn't have an armrest or a silencer? Bah, not Megatron without those. I'll get a G1 Megs if that's the case.

Sorry for my poor grammar and redundancy. I was up late when I wrote this. I am sure that each contract is a different case and the fees could be high or low.

It will be interesting to see what their future plans will be. Are there certain deals that Hasbro would like (such as the mold for MP Starscream)? Are there any molds that Takara is refusing to give?

Maybe I should cancel my preorders? I don't know, it's all so risky and such.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is some head gimmick thing, the other MP molds had head gimmicks (moving mouthplate and face switching smugness). Personally though, I rekon it looks like a part of the transformation. Prime had the best back, but considering they will be viewed from the front, it doesn't really matter. It's still sex on a plate. Judging from the box comparison shot, I would definatly say it's packaged in robot mode (don't shoot me if this has already been confirmed, I don't know if it has.) Oh how I wish I had the space and the funds to get one.

yAy! more pics!

not sure whats going on with the head. i'd bet its part of the transformation or some such nonsense cuz that head just doesnt make any sense. not for a masterpiece anyway.

and a backshot!!!! yeah, it looks kinda crappy, but nowhere near as crappy as i expected. its just a shame that nothing has touched primes level of perfection...yet.

The way he does this is enter the US with the packages and ship them from a U.S. Location via UPS. To quote Spencer from the forums:

The Megatron figures we will be shipping into the states also will not have the orange cap on them. I bring over all mail personally and ship from a US address so these don't leave my hands until they are shipped by UPS. I don't think there is anything to fear with these.

Hope that helps.

Spencer.

Wonder if I can just go pick mine up.

By the way, the head isn't a gimmick. That's just to turn the head into the hammer on the gun mode.
