New Pictures of Animated Blitzwing!

Interesting. So it seems that Blitzwing's jet mode wasn't mistransformed in the auction.

It also looks like he'll be taller than Lugnut, who, if I remember correctly, is a Voyager figure. Not bad... for a "deluxe" figure.

That crossed arms picture is badass.

Dude, wait... is he gonna have a voyager AND a deluxe sized figure? this is confusing. Lugnut is like standing in Blitzwing's shadow when it should be the other way around.

Totally rocks some serious afterburner , too bad I only collect G1 and Masterpieces as there's no money for all. But I'd choose Animated over the Movie for sure, they're doing an excelent job on the show and the figures, and it has a lot of G1 on it. Maybe I'll buy my favorites from the show, including this one.

Blitzwing has to be a Voyager according to those pics, or at least a Voyager sized Deluxe like Lockdown. I don't really care either way though now, it has great articulation, transformation and the jet mode looks much better in these pics.

All i got 2 said is that a lot of ppl will only display him in "Bot" mode only when they get him.

I think so too.

His tank and jet modes look like something out of Advance Wars.
I like the robot mode mucho though. There is no way that is a deluxe.

I like the tank concept. It's something new and different from previous tank bots. I will most likely get him for his robot and tank mode. He is badass.

Not without certain flaws, but I'll take it nonetheless.

The thing that bothers me the most is his upper legs. See if you can spot the problem here:



I'd happily take it over the 'Thundercracker' Movie Starscream repaint I picked up yesterday. Starscream also has a kibble-tastic jet mode. At least Blitzwing has an excuse.

I'm with Stryder here: Blitzwing is a DIB (Display In Botmode).

I mean seriously...
The alt modes are just not impressive.
The jet looks too tankish, and the tank looks too kibbled.

But the figure does look good in bot mode, I'll give it that.
Between the rather impressive-looking articulation (a la crossed arms) and the interchangeable faces... I might bite on Blitzwing after all.
If it's a Deluxe class, that is.
No way I'm dropping $20 just for a bot mode.

I'm going to have to disagree. I think the robot mode is weakest of the three. The vehicle modes feel very 'Advance Wars,' but I think that's why they work. Despite being war machines, they are still funny-looking and dare I say cute. I think the idea of a jet fighter with tank treads to be hilariously over-the-top (in a good way), and the tank mode sort of reminds me of a Cobra HISS Tank, so major points there as well.

That tank mode sucks. Every thing else is cool (excluding the 3 head thing) but its like they didnt put any work into the tank at all. Ill be keeping it in either jet or bot mode.

I still don’t like the jet very much and they could have done much better, but he might worm his way into my collection anyway.

Tank mode is my fave. I think it'll look best from front 3/4 view with the missiles left out.

This leads me to beleive there has to be a Leader class Lugnut sometime in the future. I mean, we have 2 autobot Leaders confirmed but only 1 decepticon.

Opinion has not changed from the last lot of pics.

Robot mode looks good. Everything else looks crap. And frankly putting him next go G1 Blitzwing makes me like the G1 mold even more. And it had some major faults!

Out of all the animated Decepticons, Blitzwing was my favorite. The only animated Autobots I'm liking is Prowl Jazz Ultra Magnus and *maybe* Ratchet. All of the Decepticons though I've liked so far, so I'd be spending more of my money on those ones.

Blitzwing is on the top of my list though. I like the tank and jet modes (though the jet mode is pushing it with those treds), and the robot mode looks awesome, plus the character is great, so the second I see him I'm buying him.

Also, would it kill people to forgive the way the jet mode looks? Yes it looks like crap, but look at the G1 Blitzwing, he's really not much better with a tank turret on the underside of the jet.

However, I look over at my shelf and see Movie Bonecrusher, I realize that this could be the only Lugnut figure we'll receive.

Although it does seem like we're finally getting a line that's show accurate through and through. Leader Class Bulkhead, Voyager Optimus, Deluxe Ratchet, Prowl and Bumblebee are all proof that we might get a Leader Class Lugnut at some point, but how long must we wait?

yea but G1 Tank mode got Animated version beat hands down

I not try 2 be bash ole Blitzes here but 4 his size i thank hasbro could have did a lot better on designing his Alt modes.
He could have made his treads slimer since they not real anyway and they could have tuck under real easy in either mode bbut hell 96.5% of us r going 2 still buy him anyway and Keep him display in Bot or "Gun Turret" mode anyway

The plane mode looks lame with the tank treads. Does Blitzwing's plane mode have treads in the cartoon?

Actually, it was by a long way. The canopy wasn't aligned with the fuselage and the treads weren't tucked all the way up.


Soooo Blitzwing has a Gerwalk mode? Jetfire's gonna be ticked. I have to admit, I expected better from this toy, but I suppose triple-changers will always be the bane of toy designers no matter how advanced engineering is. I'll probably pick him up anyway.

Not only does he have Gerwalk, he has Gertread! I think mine will spend his time in bot mode, which looks ace, while the two alt modes leave something lacking. The tank does at least look 'toon accurate. Overall, they've done a very impressive job with the deluxes, and fortunately, at least one of the underwhelming Voyagers is getting the Leader treatment. Those of you who deride Animated, please continue! More finds for me.

I think I am going to hold out to see if Hasbro makes a Leader Class Lugnut, but the Blitzwing fig is a definite buy.

I love this guy! Kudos to the guy who said the front of the tank folds down, it looks brillig now, and I can live with those modes, easily. Movie Thundercracker, is horrible. i have him, and it looks like a blue blob. This guy is awesome. I love the character. Plus, I love his geriatric mode too! It's like Angry should be robot mode, Random should be plane head, and Monocle shuold be wheelchair!
When will this be in britain? I was hoping to get an animated figre for my B-day on june 1st, but i doubt my chances now.
Finally, can anyone tell me if the japanese guy is ranting about how rubbish it is, or praising it's glory? I'm getting it anyway, but I detect Blitzwing will be rarer than Bigfoot when he gets released.

Well he's pretty cool. I'm liking all 3 modes. Plane mode could use some help. The blatant tank treads under the plane just don; look that good. I'm sure with all the joint sin the legs, they can be positioned to be a little less obvious.

Robots mode looks quite accurate to the cartoon. I am surprised he's that big though. But I'm glad he's a voyager and not a deluxe.

Loving the gerwalk mode.

Overall I'm not disappointed. I will pick him up if I see him no doubts.

personally i just think of the new blitzwing as small upgrade to the generation one figure they both have the same transforming capabiltiys tank on the bottom jet on top but yes i do agree he could have been made better i think they could have done better job on him in jet mode if they wanted to but the series is very basic looking in the show and so are figures to when it comes to transforming them.

Hard to say, I mean, we got a Leader class Brawl later on well get a Leader Lugnut, maybe in a wave 3 (if there is a wave 3?)

Seriously badass looking. His tank mode his win, his bot mode (including head gimmick!) is win, and his jet mode is epic win.


To clear things up, he was incorrectly transformed in the auction before. His arms were folded above his legs as opposed to in between them.

Blitzwing looks better and better each time I see him, I must get him when I see him. Now i've seen blitzwing swoop pics now please.

I want to see an "underbelly" shot of him in jet mode to find out once and for all if there is a place to tuck those treads in.

I wasn't expecting the dial at the back of the helmet either. *nitpick* I wish it was elsewhere but I guess it had to go somewhere.

In the more detailed drawings of the jet, you can usually see part of the treads.

I think a Leader class Lugnut is unlikely. I just don't think it would sell.

For the sake of scale, they should have gone with deluxe class for Blitzwing, but I reckon they knew Blitzwing would be a popular guy, so they went voyager.

I really wanted to like this figure, but the alt modes are just too "Chibi" for me, especially the cute chubby jet-on-tank-treads. I'm also confused about the size. It looks a lot smaller than I expected it to be.

A lot smaller?

He's one of the taller Voyagers thus far. As tall as Movie star Scream, and that's more than I can say for Lugnut or even Bulkhead.

What size did you want him to be Ultra? Supreme?

yeah, in the pictures he looks kinda huge to me. That pic of him next to voyager Lugnut, I almost suspected they'd gone leader class.
