Galvatron comes with guns shaped like his Revenge ship. These are said to be in scale with Haslab Unicron, and are also said to combine into a bigger gun. We have an image comparing this Galvatron to the show model so let us know what you think. Galvatron should be out in midsummer, though as is typical with summer waves, he may be more plentiful closer to the back to school reset many stores have.

I'm just wondering when people are gonna start complaining that they are paying $50 for a bot that's just a hair taller than Cyclonus and still has hollow forearms.

The combination of us getting our Mini-MPs as well as the major price hike the actual masterpieces have been getting lately have been pushing people to be transitioning to main line instead of MP (based on what I’ve read in the forums at least). I’m sure that the Hasboys know this to some extent and are trying to make sure that people still have reason to get the Masterpiece (if one is indeed in the works.)
If either company was trying to push for MPs, it'd be Takara because they're solely responsible for them, from design to release. Hasbro has just started to distribute them as well

I think you're on the money. I bet we see an MP Galvatron in a year or two. This one looks like a nice figure, but for folks who really want an '86 movie-accurate deco, there's enough room for improvement that I suspect there is an MP planned, a third redeco of this figure, or both.

If Galvatron cannot magically shrink down to be able to ride inside Cyclonus's cockpit, I'll be really upset.

Will deffo pony up for this. Surprised re the gun - I liked his g1 rifle...
would be a fun Easter egg if he had electronics too

For the little I've seen, this Galvatron look a bit goofy. But it's too early to really judge.

Parts of it are off, but it's no worse than how off other toys in the line are and better than most. Overall I like it!

Hasbro I'm upset enough to be typing in all caps.

Gotta agree with this 1000000%. Now some figures it looks ok on. But most times it just looks like someone spilled silver paint on the figure. This is really true on the original Siege Optimus and Megatron, who's grey plastic had a semi translucent surface which made the paint splatter even worse. I alcohol'd that crap right off.
Now I really liked the TR Gavly and Roddy, but they were definitely done an injustice. Why now then when they have the chance to correct the wrongs of the past would they choose to add another blemish.

Kingdom Galvatron is perhaps the best looking (in terms of G1 accuracy) and most in-scale version of the character we've had over the past 15 years, but it feels like it falls noticeably short of benchmark of screen accuracy set by other contemporary figures like Hot Rod, Scourge, and especially Cyclonus. The torso is overall a bit too bulky, some of the other proportions are a bit off, some paint apps are missing, and the color of purple used is still not really correct. As weird as it is to complain about this, Kingdom Galvatron is actually missing some alt-mode kibble in robot mode. The general shapes and details are all there, just a bit off in some cases. It would help if we could get a picture of the toy at the same angle and pose as the G1 character model above for a better comparison.
Maybe it's too hard to nail a "true to life" Galvatron based exactly on the G1 character model that still converts into the right alternate mode(s) at the Leader Class price point. There is always some mass shifting and selective resizing done in the cartoon, and I can appreciate when Hasbro eschews perfect on-screen shape or form to use the real parts of the alt mode when they can, like Siege Sideswipe's chest being a bit too broad because it's the vehicle's real hood. Maybe some of the design differences in Kingdom Galvatron are because it's got a third mode we don't know about yet? There's probably a good reason for the compromises made, and it'll feel better knowing why those had to be made, but for now, we're just left to wonder.

While not quite the same (based on the heavily use of shadow coloring), I'm glad to see this comparison pic use a cartoon model that's closer to the correctly-colored one:
Instead of the incorrectly-colored one that's been floating around the Internet for years, now (which seems to be from where this and many other Galvatron figures got their purple):

I'm digging this figure so Far. I agree about the battle damage though. I'm not a fan, altoug te way they did it on the netflix variations looked pretty good.
Looks like he'll have his cannon mode, but I'd like to see the alt modes. I'm betting he wont have part that you fold down to make his gun mode though, or maybe he will and they'll call it a submarine mode. But yeah, I want to see the alt modes.
I like the Gun/Ship they made for him as well. That'll look pretty nice with the arc on Unicron, though it would be nice if one of them were the correct color.

Well, for the entirety of the WFC trilogy, "Leader Class" has been basically a Voyager with a bunch of accessories, fans have had time to get 2 previous years of complaining out of their systems. Rodimus was new,(a Voyager with a Ton of accessories, and a complex trailer/battle platform marketed as "CC") and thus a new wave of complaints.
I haven't seen thus far anyone complaining about the size of BW Megatron, or Earthmode Ultra Magnus (especially when there are so many other aspects to complain about) .

I despise this debate. The second one you posted is too light. The first one is how I perceive it to look, and is closer to this screenshot from TFG1S3 "The Ultimate Weapon". The most frustrating thing is that the shades of their colors vary from episode to episode and with the lighting within the episode and cell-shading doesn't make it easier to discern which is the correct color (though I'd like to see them just meet somewhere in the middle of the light and dark shades).

If I recall correctly, Seibetron, you are a little color blind, yes? I remember another color discussion a few years back when those initial desaturated photos of Takara Tomy Legends Kup came out that made him look completely gray, instead of shades of green.

Very slightly color blind, but only with extreme shades of light green and red (i.e. brown shades) where the colors are pretty close, has nothing to do with purples ... nor does it have anything to do with hexadecimal colors where you can clearly see the different shades (as demonstrated in the images of Galvatron above that I posted).
For those of you who haven't done a color blind test in years, here you go. Have fun! To those of you who do not have color blindness of any kind, it's not exactly what you think it is for those of us who have minor forms of it. I went 35+ years without knowing I had any form of it ... and it's only when it's things like these color blind tests that it throws me off. I know damn well what all of the colors are ... and I'd argue that I'm probably more familiar with the color spectrum better than most (obviously not all) after working with hex colors for website design and Photoshop for 20+ years. My weakness lies with the edges of the color spectrum where certain lighter/faint pastel colors (primarily with red and green) are only a hex number or two away from flipping to a different color.
My point is, it shouldn't be a debate when it comes to G1 Galvatron's shades of purple as I demonstrated the different shades of Galvatron above from various episodes. And even if someone is color blind, if they can discern that a color is a different shade than where they've previously seen something colored, isn't all that matters when debating the usage of colors in relation to Transformers toys regardless of how they perceive the color?
Do you see all of the numbers below?

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you wrote. I didn't include that image because you said it was the wrong-colors Galvatron, so I'm confused by your response to me or what your point was. I was pointing out that the 2nd image you posted is also the incorrect colors and that the original image used in the news story posted by William-James is closer to the samples that I posted from the cartoon.

Heights might be awkward if Rodimus is shoter than Ultra and Galv is taller than Ultra but if I get Galv he will be going with CW Ultra anyways. We just need some official pics and comparrisons. Transformers Tuesday didnt seem to happen yesterday

Phamduc, the guy who has it in hand has said it's almost as tall as Siege Magnus.
Some quick comparisons put him around the height of the Titans Return one. And Phamduc confirmed this is accurate.
Which honestly isn't too bad if I'm being honest.

Ditto!!! I've been hoping for Galvatron ever since the '86 movie characters started trickling in (Seige Magnus and Springer). I'll definitely pick him up but, damn, that battle damage sucks and is going to bug the crap out of me. EVERYTHING else has been so clean and spot-on that I thought Hasbro was done with the whole battle damage crap. What's next?! Beast Wars figures with ripped flesh, plucked feathers and patches of hair loss?

You joke, but the main play gimmick of the Jurassic Park figures has always been in fact torn patches of flesh.
and some Beaswars figures actually had dead modes:

But I’m not delusional or blind to a few of the issues...
Along with most of what’s been mentioned, I’d also say the ab section is too square... It literally looks like some sort of mother box... Even if this is how it appears in some of the old drawings,
imo the top & bottom should be narrower so that the sides at least appear taller... It should at least look a bit more like a rectangle that’s positioned vertically...
And it doesn’t bother me, but I do wish the color was a little closer to Blue-Violet...
At least what I’m seeing in these photos he looks a bit too much towards Red-Violet.
So is the official release date for this guy mid-summer?

It actually looks appropriately sized for his body. Plus the combiner head fits in his big chest cavity, so there's alt mode storage.

Interesting. I do have a scrap CW Cyclonus. I'll just have to find a scrap TR Galvatron and have some fun.

And the battle damage this time, big yikes. At least during Siege there was an argument for it as a thematic point of consistency, but here it's just off.
Overall this is really close to a great Galvatron, just not quite there. It looks nearly perfect from the waist down!
