We have new images from Japan showing Transformers Earthrise deluxe Arcee and it's pretty clear now why the designers opted for a detaching backpack. Basically, keeping that backpack on, which is still an option, makes for the biggest backpack ever seen in Transformers toy history. It's worse than any of the usual toys we make fun of for instance. She seems to have even less alt mode integration than Cybertron Thunderblast.

We do see one of these photos from Takara showing the figure with the bulkiest bits of the backpack removed and turning into a hoverboard. However, we see there that even with those bits removes, we still don't get the typical Arcee silhouette. Let us know if you think this is an improvement over the previous Generations/Legends Arcee and if you will be getting this toy when it comes out later this year.

Wasn't this really unconvincing hoverboard in the renders published Toy Fair weekend?

I think part of the backpack is mistransformed. There's supposed to be a gap between the "shoulder pylons", right?

Lol, that Arcee is seriously PACKING for quite the mountain trek!

Still getting her though.

YIKES that is an enormous backpack. On the plus side, I can see enterprising Shapeways designers making full vehicle kibble replacements for her to convert her into completely different characters.

I bet Hasbro / Takara will be there first.

Thunderblast anyone?

Well it's cool to see he does have a new head, but I still don't really see the point of this Optimus, and it honestly just concerns me that the chances of getting Shattered Glass Prime are lower.

YRQRM0 wrote:Also, would've been a lot more interested if he had normal colors with the trailer, or didn't have the trailer with his death colors. I don't see the point of it with this scheme.

Parts of the trailer are molded on the same sprues as parts of the figure, so it has to share the color scheme and they can't make the figure without the trailer (presumably). I feel like this gets brought up every time Prime is mentioned...

Also Arcee continues to just look to be a bad figure, so easy pass.

Tech wise, the T-30 Arcee seem to be the better mold.

william-james88 wrote:A new video on youtube shows us a good look at the upcoming Sleep Mode Optimus Prime figure (also known as dead Optimus Prime). So firstly, that confirms that we are getting one. Secondly, we get a good look at the robot mode and it features a new headsculpt based on his look in the movie when he died. This would be the very first time the concept of a dead G1 Optimus Prime was sold by Hasbro since so far it was always exclusive Takara redecos.

You can watch the video from Swift Transform below which features a comparison with Transformers Earthrise Leader Class Optimus Prime.

He's dead, Jim.

Arcee is a great big pass. Kudos for it having more curves at deluxe sized than fanstoys but those feet are awful, she must have bathed them in the same hot spring as earthrise prime but for a bit longer. Sticking with the platinum box set and the TR version.

The renders do show the very tip of the hood folded in. These pictures seem to show a hinge at the same point, but I can't tell if that part is a separate piece.

The T-30 one is still available (and much better looking) on BBTS, but the catch is you can only get her paired with with T30 Chromia for $29.99.

https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... tails/7165

Just another option for anyone who is Arceeless and underwhelmed by the ER version.

I have Legends Arcee, I plan to get ER Arcee, but I know the perfect Arcee is somewhere in-between these two.

Part of me wished Hasbro came up with a design that'd capture her look yet make her feel like a Transformer without a huge backpack. I know there's a way to make her look good while spreading the car kibble elsewhere without being the TR version.

Ho-ly shit that is TERRIBLE. Remember when people were going 'CHUG is becoming mini Masterpiece'? Well this is the end stage people, where the show accuracy cancer has metastized into massive chunks of useless alt mode just sticking out the back. This is such an ugly mess I'm gonna go get the T30 Arcee instead.

If one doesn't have either, that's one great deal for a pair of excellent fembots.

I don't have T30 or Siege Chromia so I'll probably just get them as a two pack. If I end up not liking Chromia too much she'll become custom fodder or something, possibly as a Solus Prime? I think she has the look for it no?

T30 chromia is a pretty decent toy though, well worth having.

I don't mind the removable backpack. But they could have at least made it transform into something. Maybe a little drone or something. Simple partsforming is pretty lazy.

Since the details on her forearms don't match any detail on her alt mode, it looks like her robot and alt modes share exactly zero parts.

When was the last time we've seen that? Beast Wars Neo?

Kinda reminds me of that AOE First Edition Optimus.

It does, however, integrate the front wheels into the legs fairly decently. The backpack, not so much.

So, after seeing the new Skorponok pics, I started thinking. Do we know if Fasttrack has any Titanmaster interactivity? Or is it going to be like Cog where the only interectivity is the 5mm posts and ports? I'm hoping for some, but I seriously doubt any is there

Just another in a long line of examples for why G1 Arcee is overall just a terrible design period.

Just one of the most unconvincing Transformers as well as a bit of a tacky one. (Even ignoring her Leia ripoff theme)

It's thunderblast from cybertron. However, she had a miniscule bit of alt mode intergration with her feet being part of the ship, bu that was it.

Well PrimevsPrime’s review answers the question.

“Is dead Prime and the Alternate Universe Optimus Prime listing the same thing?”

Yes they are. The Product Numbers are the same. (E7462)

So this thing is supposedly going to be a Amazon exclusive.

So...even though Earthrise has had an extremely slow start, some places still not getting wave 1 toys yet, anyone have a guess as to when we could start to see wave 2? I'm hoping for the first weekend of July...for something ANYTHING really as its just been so long, something new to look forward to would be a nice distraction. Sure I have all my pore-orders in, but with dates subject to change, they are not definitive, so its really all up in the air at the moment.

As bad as these shelformers are, I'm not sure they're quite as bad. At least Thunderblast incorporates her shins and feet. An argument can even be made that that Prime's legs have some incorporation. Arcee on the other hand...

Arcee looks like she's carrying a pink Barbie Power Wheels on her back.

Someone needs to ask Hasbro why third-party toy makers make their characters so much better than they do.

Because 3rd parties have no budget when making stuff. They design it and then figure out the price and then charge $80+ for it and you have no problem paying for it. hasbro has a budget and restraints as well as making toys for everyone. Not just grown adults who never grew out of playing with toys.

I've ranted about it before, but HasTak engineers need to implement better 'mass control' when designing fembots. Yes, I know that screen accurate models are usually quite slim and round-limbed as opposed to the more cubic-looking dudes but they just need to spread the overall plastic mass better.
