An auction on
Taobao reveals to us an image of
Transformers Animated Ratchet, in a new and previously unseen tube style packaging. Much like that of the
Target exclusive Allspark power redecos from last year, the figure shown is also in it’s robot mode. Although, there appears to be no differences aside from the new packaging.

I have mixed feelings about this style packaging. It looks cooler, puts the bot on display better, but it's a pain in the ass the store. We'll see.

Premium Series Animated figures?
well if only the paint reflected that. Still don't like ratchet. Maybe if they give us, Prowl, or Blurr in that format. Otherwise i think its just a clever way of getting rid of the overstock.

So it annoys MISB collectors? I move that this becomes the standard for all TF packaging then.

It's a good idea. Makes the figure look more attractive. This figure's bot mode is way better than its alt mode, IMO.
But I save all my card-backs, and I don't know what I'd do with something like this.

Nice. It has to be a target exclusive since they've been the only ones to get this type of packaging. Hopefully they put some figures i dont have in that style box.

lol wut? Seriously, do you ever read your posts back to yourself?
Anyhoo, the fact Hasbro keeps doing this sort of repackaging suggests that it does sell more figures. I can't conceive of a reason why they'd keep doing something that loses them money.
