Thanks to Seibertronian Sabrblade, we have news that a new chapter of the Takara Legends Manga is now available, in PDF form on TakaraTomyMall, featuring the Monsterbots! The Manga is 5 pages long and shows off the Monsterbots, most prominently Grotess (Grotusque) & Repug (Repugnus), as they are the figures intended to be sold with this comic. The comic features plenty of battle beasts, and even includes some characters such as Bumblebee and Jetfire, along with some Headmasters. The comic also shows off some fun reimaginings of toys we got as new characters or characters we were rumored to get but never did, like Toraizer.

Check out the Mange below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

That comic makes me yern for a Battle Beast reboot!

I forget, does the Tak Repug come with the same Head Master as the Hasbro Repugnus. Basically, just Dastard? The comic makes it seem like a different character. Of course considering I can't read it and I kept going from left to right means I was a little lost.

Well to the Google mobile to search it out.

Edit: found what I was looking for. Just straight re-release.

Yes. The head is the same as the Hasbro Dastard version, but the one he uses in this comic is instead the Titan Master version instead of Dastard. Though, Takara is treating Dastard not as himself but instead as the hedgehog Beastformer named, uh, Hedgehog. Likewise, Grotusque's little headmaster Fengul is treated by Takara as the Beastformer named Platinum Tiger.

Repugnus Hb robot head fits well/proportional when combined with the headmaster characer of the Legends line. I performed robotic surgery in other words.

The Head/titanmaster utilizing the animation model style is waaaaaaaay too big /not proportional when used on the Repugnus transtector.

Oh, no, that purple dude is Toraizer, a non-toy redeco of Lione/Sawback. Hedgehog is the guy wearing Spike's Exosuit on Page 2, riding the Titan Master Vehicle of Repugnus with little Headmaster Repugnus himself.

I so want to be excited about all the random cameos, Marissa abd her daughter, the random magic tranforming boat lady tagging along with SeaSpray, the Battle Beasts abd random HeadMasters, but I have no bloody clue whats happening here. And is Grotuaque arguing with his Titan Master dude at one point?

He was, along with Optimus Primal.

The Monsterbot Titan Masters have always been treated as Battle Beasts in Legends, while the Headmaster Warrior ones have been possessed by the evil Laser Beasts:

Daburu: recast as White Leo aka Pirate Lion
Fengul: recast as Platina Tiger aka Saber Sword Tiger.
Dastard: o no, not yet, Repugnus hasn't been bonded yet. Dastard is modeled after Hedgehog aka Prickly Porcupine, yes, but he is wearing Spike's suit for the time being.

Lione: was possessed by Tigerburn
Toraizer: was possessed by Scope Cougar
Shuffler: turns out he was possessed by Skull Grotess... HAH, Grotess piloting Grotusque, so cheeky

Another thing: Grotusque can speak while Platina Tiger is outside of Head Mode. That's a first. He does seem less of a joker now tho...

2) Alana, Seaspray's Tlalakan "girlfriend".

Another cameo I just realized, not of a character, but of a concept: Platina Tiger's "glass shattering" thing is his new dimension warping ability, taken from the Blendtrons in the Beast Wars Neo anime.

YES, Fire/Wood/Water rubsigns all day! I'm ok if they are not part of the TF universe, but if so all the sweeter. I never knew they were related until recently. From what I've seen of the last line, it didn't look up my alley.

I'm thinking just the original line-up, bigger, more articulation, maybe a removable/swap-able/upgrade-able armor gimmick. Could share the same weapon gimmick as Siege. Bring back all of their vehicles/playsets (transformable?).

Ah, it's fun to randomly speculate isn't it :-?

At this point, I'm still just waiting for the Wiki to get a summary up so we can finally learn exactly what's going on in this.

At last, an English summary - https://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Road_to_Legends%27_Revival_Chapter_1

On the planet Beast in the year 2023, the war rages on between the Beastformers and Laser Beasts, the two armies now on equal footing after the Beastformers acquired Doublecross and followed White Leo's example in adopting mechanical bodies. Tigerburn remains confident, however, as his forces have recovered two of the Three Wise Ones' gemstones and are in control of the headless bodies of Repugnus and Grotusque. Suddenly a portal opens up above the battlefield and disgorges Repugnus himself and Hedgehog, immediately followed by the other Headmasters who escaped the destruction of the Legends World, and Autobots and Decepticons alike choose to assist their old Beastformer allies against the Laser Beasts.

The panicking Tigerburn has the Headmasters Scopecougar and Skullgrotes combine with the two Monsterbot bodies, though his efforts are in vain as they're faced with the arrival of Jetfire, Bumblebee, Seaspray, Alana, Spike, and Marissa, the latter finally being reunited with Sue in the process. Having used the Water Gem of Motion to restore Tlalak and its Well of Transformation, Seaspray sprays its water on Scopecougar and Skullgrotes, separating them from Toraizer and Shuffler as well as the Monsterbot bodies. Repugnus is quick to reclaim his, though White Leo reveals that Grotusque cannot be restored right now as his head is in another dimension with Platinum Tiger.

The reason for this is that Platinum Tiger has sequestered himself after becoming evil, having fallen victim to the curse of the Head Tiger when he used it to save Grotusque's head from the Laser Beasts. While Grotusque attempted to mitigate the curse by using the gemstones to merge with Platinum Tiger, it was not enough and the Beastformer chose to seal himself away so as to never harm anyone. Grotusque says he's happier this way, having never liked his ugly body to begin with, but Platinum Tiger can sense that the time has come for the Monsterbot to return and suddenly breaks out of his self-styled prison, combines with Grotusque's body and downloads the Monsterbot's consciousness into it. While Grotusque protests, Platinum Tiger insists that it's too dangerous for them share the same body and urges Grotusque to face his problems as himself.

Enraged by his loss of the Monsterbots, Tigerburn steals the Water Gem of Motion from Seaspray and uses the three gems in his possession to call upon the power of the legendary Red Phoenix, Wood Beetle, and Shocking Shark...

The final three pages of the LG-EX Repug & Grotess online manga has been added to the PDF - https://takaratomymall.jp/img/goods/490 ... /comic.pdf

The three pages wrap up the unfinished story of the first five pages, then fast forward 15 years to where the previous other online comic left off with the Legends World destroyed and the members of the Axalon Trading Company arriving on Planet Beast in the year 2038 to meet up with the Monsterbots, and then shows what's going on with the Autobot/Decepticon war by that point in time, at which point it is at the end of the G2 War with Galvatron II having seized Decepticon leadership. The end of the final page notes that the story is to be continued in the pack-in manga to be included with the Repugnus and Grotesque toy two-pack.

Also, we're shown how Repugnus's new toy-based head is formed by Hedgehog wearing Spike's Headmaster Exosuit, which when attached to Repugnus's body breaks down its visor, mouthplate, and other features to reform itself into resembling Repugnus's toy-based head after his own cartoon-based head is detached from the body. He then wields the smaller Repug Armor as a Targetmaster.

And we got a summary for the conclusion of this comic - https://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Road_to_Legends%27_Revival_Chapter_1

Enraged by his loss of the Monsterbots, Tigerburn steals the Water Gem of Motion from Seaspray and uses the three gems in his possession to take control of the Beastformers' legendary Red Phoenix, Wood Beetle, and Shocking Shark and pit them against the Transformers. Doublecross/White Leo and Grotusque/Platinum Tiger spring into action and use the combined power of machine and beast to battle the mobile bases, and when Repugnus envies their newfound strength, Hedgehog offers to form his head using Spike's Headmaster exosuit. In response, the Shocking Shark bites into Hedgehog and damages his head mode, though Repugnus, whose consciousness has moved into his body, automatically repairs the Beastformer into a form resembling his own head. With the addition of the smaller Repugnus armor's gun mode and White Lune's Targetmaster form, the three Monsterbots defeat the mobile bases, allowing White Leo to tackle Tigerburn and call upon the three gems himself. He explains to the Laser Beast Emperor that to melt his cold heart and prove that the residents of Beasts can live together, he will merge with Tigerburn himself into an example of unity—and in a flash of light the two are crystallized, becoming a monument of their final struggle.

Fifteen years later in 2038, the Monsterbots finish explaining what happened to the newly arrived Legends Rattrap, adding that Platinum Tiger has since locked himself within the Holography Mirror and that Rattrap's group has arrived during the G2 Era when the Decepticons are led by their new hero, Galvatron II. Elsewhere, Galvatron II punishes Hooligan for referring to him as "II" before announcing that he will rob Beast of all its energy.

Just to clear things up. As Sakamato did a superb job linking all the lore together. Both west and JP.

Concerning the Headmasters though, is this how it goes and did I get it right?

1. Transtectors are lifeless but eventually can develop sentience after being exposed/linked to a sentient being (Masterforce)

2. Repugnus downloaded his"personality" into his larger transtector. So he abandoned the headmaster armor and also brought his spark into the bigger armor(?).

3. In Rebirth, I recall Brainstorm mentioning download your personality into their back up aka the techspec meter (sure back then the lore was all over the place). Is this similar to concept #2?

4. When the "Cerebros" head connected, it remolded into it's current shape, kind of similar to how the Combaticons were created. The "spark" remolded the vehicle? In this case the head.

5. There are now two personalities existing in their forms. Just like the Western Headmaster concept. Binary bonding? How they get them in harmony is anyone's guess?

6. In Rebirth, the vehicle headmasters can run their vehicle modes independently though having pilots improves their output 100%

7. His (Repugnus) mini-mee power armor is now sentient?

8. Galvatron II. There's going to be abattle that will eventually hurl him back to 1985 from which his ghost back story is going to begin (explaining those artwork in Japan where both Megatron and Galvatron 1986 toy colors existed together)

9. Since this is G2, when Galvatron II took over, was that G1 form Megatron or G2 purple tank Megs?

10. Will G2 tank Megs eventually evolved into combiner tank Megs who will eventually escape to the Legends Universe?

11. What happened to Headmaster G1 "Mayor" Megatron?

12. Will this eventually link 'em to the PotP figs? Starscream for instance is a headmaster, when's he gonna turn into Hero Starscream who will eventually be pursued by Jazz, Bumble and Grimlock?

Lemme see...

fenrir72 wrote:1. Transtectors are lifeless but eventually can develop sentience after being exposed/linked to a sentient being (Masterforce)
Kinda-sorta. The Masterforce Transtectors were either given life by Devil Z (the Decepticon ones) or by a miracle (the Autobot ones)

fenrir72 wrote:2. Repugnus downloaded his"personality" into his larger transtector. So he abandoned the headmaster armor and also brought his spark into the bigger armor(?).
In Repugnus's case, that larger body was his actual body to begin with. He had been previously beheaded and had his head taken to the Legends World where he was converted into a Headmaster (and where he was also given a new smaller armor vehicle to use). When he rejoined with his original body here, he downloaded himself into his main body like you said to let Hedgehog attach himself to Repugnus's body using Spike Headmaster Exosuit.

fenrir72 wrote:3. In Rebirth, I recall Brainstorm mentioning download your personality into their back up aka the techspec meter (sure back then the lore was all over the place). Is this similar to concept #2?
Pretty much, yeah. I'm sure Sakamoto might have been referencing "The Rebirth" when he had Repugnus download himself into his own body to let Hedgehog become his Headmaster.

fenrir72 wrote:4. When the "Cerebros" head connected, it remolded into it's current shape, kind of similar to how the Combaticons were created. The "spark" remolded the vehicle? In this case the head.
The Exosuit head didn't change right away like the Combaticons did. Rather, it attached like normal, but then the Shocking Shark damaged it. When Repugnus used his own power to repair the damage, he reformatted Hedgehog himself into a full-fledged Headmaster to make the new head better resemble his own head.

fenrir72 wrote:5. There are now two personalities existing in their forms. Just like the Western Headmaster concept. Binary bonding? How they get them in harmony is anyone's guess?
I think it was said/implied that, after the fighting with the Laser Beasts ended, the three Beastformers who bonded with the Monsterbots gave the Monsterbots back their own heads/bodies to make them whole again, as White Leo (who had bonded with Doublecross) had frozen himself with Tigerburn, while Platinum Tiger (who had bonded with Grotusque) secluded himself back inside the Holography Mirror. It is presumable that Hedgehog had parted ways with Repugnus as well.

fenrir72 wrote:6. In Rebirth, the vehicle headmasters can run their vehicle modes independently though having pilots improves their output 100%
I guess? "The Rebirth" wasn't too clear on how exactly the bonding process improved everyone involved, since it had so many new toys to advertise in so little time.

fenrir72 wrote:7. His (Repugnus) mini-mee power armor is now sentient?
Possibly. At least partially, maybe, like an animal. After all, the little Partner Drones owned by the normal Autobot and Decepticon Headmasters were, and even Weirdwolf's own Transtector behaved like a dog when he wasn't piloting it (needing to go for walks and everything).

fenrir72 wrote:8. Galvatron II. There's going to be abattle that will eventually hurl him back to 1985 from which his ghost back story is going to begin (explaining those artwork in Japan where both Megatron and Galvatron 1986 toy colors existed together)
We don't know if it will be a battle, or if he'll just choose to go back in time on his own.

fenrir72 wrote:9. Since this is G2, when Galvatron II took over, was that G1 form Megatron or G2 purple tank Megs?
Hard to say. That last time we see Megatron before Galvatron II takes over, he's in his G2 purple tank form, but the first time we see Megatron after Galvatron II has taken over, he's back in his G1 form.

fenrir72 wrote:10. Will G2 tank Megs eventually evolved into combiner tank Megs who will eventually escape to the Legends Universe?
Eventually, he'll have to. Though, he'll be in his G1 form again between that time.

fenrir72 wrote:11. What happened to Headmaster G1 "Mayor" Megatron?
Well, since the evacuation chapter said that everyone got out of the Legends World to safety, he presumably made it out too with the rest of the refugees, so he's gotta be back in the G1 World somewhere off-panel.

fenrir72 wrote:12. Will this eventually link 'em to the PotP figs? Starscream for instance is a headmaster, when's he gonna turn into Hero Starscream who will eventually be pursued by Jazz, Bumble and Grimlock?
Most unlikely. Power of the Primes has already since been released in Japan with zero accompanying fiction. Takara seems to be allowing Sakamoto to continue playing around with whatever scarce few releases of the Legends line they're willing to keep putting out in exclusive form, but also seem to have him be pretty hands off when it comes to the Power of the Primes line, likely due to the whole brand unification thing that having Takara keep their shared products with Hasbro on the same page as each other, out and away from the Japanese TF lore that Legends continues to play around with.

Thanks Sabr!

As for Galvatron II. If he's the psycho based on Furman's, I doubt it he will just leave peaceably. 8-}

PotP seriously needs some Sakamoto back story. I need my toys to have some serious back story!

Especially PotP and of course Optimus. Is he the Optimus who "fought" Combiner Wars Megs prior to his escaping to the Legends verse?

So taking off the Matrix turns him back to Orion now? No problem with Rodimus as his PotP incarnation jives with his original 1986 concept with the trailer backpack hanging (iirc, that was Floro Dery's design of him) and in Burden Mot Hardest to Bare, when the Matrix pops off(this never happened to Optimus ) same thing with UM's first fitting of it, he turns back to Hotrod.

Elita, so she's still alive after Megatron's take over. I'd love to see an ElitaInf1nite battle with Megatronia. A mech Catfight

We'll see. That Unite Warriors Baldigus manga sort of implied that he chose to go back in time after having gotten so fed up with being called "Galvatron II" during the G2 era, going back in time to a point before the first Galvatron exist so as to make himself being the first and only Galvatron (until he was blown up by Metroplex in the 90s, that is).

I guess? "The Rebirth" wasn't too clear on how exactly the bonding process improved everyone involved, since it had so many new toys to advertise in so little time.

They can distribute the workload between them -- the Autobot can concentrate on the steering and his human partner on the marksmanship (remember the training scene with Daniel/Hot Rod & Blurr from part one, where Brainstorm said it proved his theory that they could function better with human partners.)

Also, the Nebulans have the know-how to destroy the Hive's machines, and the Autobot have the powerful bodies and firepower to pull it off.

Additionally, it boosts their numbers. ("Two Autobots are better than one, Cyclonus!")

Thing is, we have 95 preceding episodes and a movie that show these alien robots to be sophisticated enough to do both at the same time with no problems whatsoever. It was just an excuse to work in a new gimmick for these new toys that needed to be advertised in such a small window of opportunity.

Whether you accept it or not, that's the reason given in the context of the Rebirth mini-series. (As opposed to no reason at all.) Of course Hasbro's goal with Rebirth was to sell all the new toys, but the writer managed to pull it off, with even a proper resolution to boot (The new Golden Age of Cybertron.) Not a lot of cartoons in the 80s got a finale.

Just for trivia's sake, there have been other examples of humans and Transformers teaming up in the series. For instance, Bluestreak won the Europa 2000 because Auggie Cahnay was driving him.

The Autobots struggled with the Hive's machines, then with the Nebulan guidings they trashed the things. Again, whether you think it was well executed or not, that's how it went down.

You see? it worked then. The Decepticons were clearly caught by surprise and overwhelmed.

Thanks to the official Takara Tomy Transformers Legends page, we have a new chapter in the Legends manga series - after the end of its own narrative universe a short while back - with the release of LG-EX Blue Big Convoy (see our latest relevant story here)!

The two page comic, mirrored below, features almost exclusively Big Convoy and Straxus (from the United line), as well as an appearance from a number of triple changers in the Titans Return line (also part of Legends in the Takara Tomy Release), as the character is supposed to be Primus Vanguard Leader from the eHobby series of comics. Check it out below!

And an English summary - https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Cybertron_Blue_Big_Convoy_prequel_comic

Faced with semi-corporeal enemies that are unaffected by his attacks, Straxus, chief engineer of the Primus Vanguard, concludes that only the power of the Matrix can defeat them. This is proven true when his leader arrives and effortlessly slashes through the beings with his Matrix Sword, joking that Straxus's usual pompous attitude is nowhere to be found before, to Straxus's shock, lending him the sword. Revealing that his entire body is infused with Matrix energy thanks to the α Matrix in his chest, the leader battles the enemies with a variety of other weapons while declaring that himself to be "Blue", the Matrix-chosen great commander—the Big Convoy—of the Primus Vanguard. The entities fade away when struck by Convoy's Blue Pèlerinage, a powerful Matrix-powered blast from his cannon, but not without delivering cryptic whispers stating that they are retreating in the face of the "blue apostle" and that they will return "when the seven are divided".

In the aftermath, Straxus realizes the attackers must have been the Specters mentioned by the Vanguard's previous leader, Brightes. Combining the α Matrix and Matrix Sword into a beacon that summons their comrades, Convoy simply responds that their identity is of no concern: no matter the enemy, the duty of the Primus Vanguard is to defend spacetime.

Four time periods in this one.

2011: Right at the end of the story "Controverse", set after "The Return of Optimus Prime" (which in Japan took place in 2010 rather than 2006) but before The Headmasters.

2025: Around the time of Transformers: Victory

2035: This was the year that Operation Combination and United EX were set in

2038: This is the post-G2 year that takes sees Galvatron II in charge of the Decepticons, but he doesn't seem to be present in this manga

Looking at this LG-EX Manga reminds me how absurd it is that Zone, of all things, is getting even a tiny bit of live. Wasn't it a complete flop in Japan? The last dying gasps of the brand there, before it got supplanted by the Brave series. Does anyone in Japan even care about Zone?

Well, I suppose some do if we got a new Big Powered!

Nay, good sir. Zone was not the end of G1 in Japan. Well, it was as far as animation was concerned, but there were two more G1 series in Japan after it: "Return of Convoy" (A.K.A. "The Battlestars") and "Gattai Daisakusen" (meaning "Operation Combination").

What's more is that Zone did have a complete storyline that spanned 12 chapters of story pages and two catalog mini-stories, which altogether told a fairly lengthy tale that the single cartoon episode and single manga chapter were only a smidgen of in the grand scheme of things.

Afterward, Return of Convoy would likewise have its story told via several story pages and a single manga chapter, and Operation Combination with story pages and telephone-based audio adventures.

Kinda like how back in the US Transformers didn't end with The Rebirth, with the story continuing in the Marvel comics (even advertised as such on TV!). As an aside, the Brave series started directly after Victory, so there was some overlap between the lines.

The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 2

Having discussed the origins of Transformer life and the existence of their souls with Primacron in 2011, Wheeljack begins researching the subject by examining personality components, the part believed to contain a Transformer's essence. By 2025, he succeeds at extracting the elusive spark from his own personality component, proving once and for all that his species does have souls, though to Perceptor's horror the experiment causes Wheeljack's personality program to reset and leaves him without any memories. Finding records of the research results, Perceptor begins wondering what happens to sparks when Transformers die...

In 2035, the Powered Masters return to the Tenth Planet in response to a disaster, discussing Violen Jiger originating there as an aggregate of Decepticon ghosts and whether or not the location has anything to do with the reappearance of Starscream's ghost. Suddenly, Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber are decapitated by none other than Violen Jiger himself, whose soul had not been vanquished but used the Tenth Planet's energy to resurrect himself. A couple years later in 2038, Megatron returns from the destroyed Legends World to his proper era and is met by Soundwave, who returned fifteen years earlier and has kept his mouth shut about knowing about Megatron's eventual return. He explains that all Autobots and Decepticons present in Legends World have a secret agreement not to talk about encountering people from the future in order to avoid causing any time paradoxes, though by now Optimus Prime has been informed and should be returning the Zodiac to Dai Atlas.

However, the robots that meet with Prime aren't Dai Atlas and his comrades at all, but Violen Jiger's components—Vion, Lenja and Igern—who are inhabiting of the Powered Masters' bodies in order to take the Zodiac by force! His plot is foiled by the arrival of the real Powered Masters, who were saved by Perceptor and Wheeljack having used the Tenth Planet's resurrective properties to recover their sparks and place them in protoforms, allowing them to return in new Headmaster bodies. A heated battle breaks out as the Powered Masters use their teamwork and new Headmaster capabilities to best Lenja and Igern, but Vion, in the body of Dai Atlas, is able to defeat Optimus Prime and take the Zodiac. He points out that the Powered Masters' new bodies are lacking Powered Engines, devices granted to them by Vector Sigma, and that the reason Violen Jiger took their original bodies is because a Powered Engine allows him to use the Zodiac to its maximum potential.

Violen Jiger calls upon the Zodiac and transforms into Dai Atlas's Zone Mode, but fortunately Topspin and Twin Twist arrive and grant Dai Atlas access to their own Powered Engines by connecting their own Zone Modes to his, allowing Dai Atlas to counter Violen Jiger's attack. The blast causes the power of the Zodiac to run dry, so Violen Jiger retreats to replenish it with Energon Z. Optimus Prime intends to give chase, seeking to recover the Zodiac and create a new home for the displaced Legends World citizens, but Dai Atlas already knows where Violen Jiger is headed: the home of Energon Z, Planet Z.

Huh. This seems like it's trying to be an introduction for Sparks in the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity, placing their first discovery in 2025. But the Binaltech story, which was set in 2003-2005, had Sparks already a known thing way back then. What's worse is that this very Wheeljack who makes the Spark discovery here is specifically the one who came over to the main JG1 continuity from the Binaltech world, taking the place of his main universe counterpart who died in Transformers: The Movie. And yet, despite this bit of awkward contradiction, this story's opening scene deliberately references the manga story "Controverse" that first brought Binaltech Wheeljack into the JG1 world in the first place. :HEADHURTS:

I really don't like the convoluted story behind Wheeljack's revival, it could've been vastly streamlined without time travel/alt universes blah blah blah :BANG_HEAD: (no one mention Prowl either :-$ )

Vio, len & Jiger should've been different colours once they took on the old Dai Atlas (& friends) bodies.

On a side note i really dislike non transformer decepticon leaders DevilZ, ViolenJiger & maybe Scrash etc

He took on his MP-10 body after G2, around the time when Megatron (in his then-new Leader class toy body) first left the JG1 world for the Legends World. So, this 2038 setting would be around that post-G2 time.

Whereas he took on his Star Convoy body earlier during the still-undated time between 2025 (Victory) and 2035 (Operation Combination, United EX, and Metrowars), after the events of Zone that also took place somewhere during this decade.

Well, that was all Ichikawa's doing back in that "Controverse" story. Sakamoto, here, is innocent on that one. ;)

But then Vion, Lenja, and Igern wouldn't have been able to fool the other Autobots into letting them get as close to the Zodiac as they did before they tried to take it by force.

Hooboy, lots to unpack in this one!

My best interpretation:

So, this follows up from the previous Monsterbots manga chapter that came out before the previous chapter that instead dealt with Dai Atlas and the Powered Masters. It's the year 2038 of the G1 World, during the G2 Era when Galvatron II is still in command of the Decepticons. He comes to the planet Beast wanting to steal the planet's Beast Power, arriving with a small army of G2 Decepticons and... Artificial Planet Nemesis from Beast Wars Second?!!!!

Well, since "Destron" in Japan refers to both the Decepticons of G1/G2 and the Predacons of the Beast Era, I guess Sakamoto can get away with the term being indistinguishable between the two generations of 'Cons. Though, from our Western perspective, this now means that Nemesis wasn't built by Predacon science, but by Decepticon science.

Anyway, as the G2 Decepticons attack, the denizens of Planet Beast fight back, a combined army of Beastformers and Laser Beasts, now led by White Lune, who's dressed in a robe and armed with a staff. The G2 Decepticon Dreadwing fights off the Beast army with a new mode, the Dread Roadblock Mode, which resembles a sort of base mode or artillery platform. The Cyberjets likewise show off a new Power Up with more weapons. The two Monsterbots, meanwhile, are stuck in monster mode since they can't transform without their Headmaster partners.

Luckily, the frozen White Leo and Tigerburn are released from their crystallized state and join forces to enter the fray. White Leo becomes Doublecross's head for the first time in 15 years, while Tigerburn merges once more with the Headmaster Warrior Lione (this time in in a mutual willingness) and becomes a new head for Grotusque (since Platinum Tiger is still secluded back inside the Holography Mirror from two chapters ago).

As the Decepticons chase Rattrap, he drops what I presume to be the last living plant of the Legends World. As he risks his life to retrieve it, the plant sprouts into a Baby Groot-like lifeform that fights back against the Decepticon Laser Rods, introducing herself to Rattrap as Botanica.

As Nemesis continues to absorb more and more Beast Power, Galvatron draws it all into his Creation Matrix. But then Repugnus and Hedgehog arrive with an army of Repug Armors, now called "KoRepugs" ("Ko-" being a Japanese prefix referring to small, cute, or baby things, like "neko" means "cat" while "koneko" means "kitten"), and sends each KoRepug up to engage Nemesis, but Galvatron blasts them all aside before they could reach the artificial planet.

After some discussion between the Legends World survivors inside the Axalon, they decide to fly up the ship towards Nemesis and take it on themselves. Atop the ship are Leo Prime, Lio Convoy, and Junior. Leo Prime crosses his arms (doing the same pose as the Headmaster Juniors and Godmasters from Masterforce when they would turn from human form into armored suit form yelling "Masterforce!") and uses his own energy to turn everyone inside the ship into Transformer bodies, making everyone look like their G1 World counterparts from the Beast Wars, Beast Wars Second, and Beast Wars Neo cartoons. All except for Leo Prime and Lio Convoy, who keep their present form so that Leo Prime can still fucntion as Lio Convoy's Headmaster.

A massive beam is fired at Nemesis, disabling it and forcing the other Decepticons to retreat, much to Galvatron's ire. Things get a little crazy inside the now-likely cramped Axalon with all of the Maximals and Predacons now in their bigger Transformer bodies. Leo Prime then comes to Optimus Primal and Big Convoy and convinces them to join him in a "Triple Beast Convoy Matrix Attack" that appears to fully cripple Nemesis for good (but if this all still takes place before its appearance in Beast Wars Second, then that means that it's gotta be fixed later on for the events of that cartoon to still happen).

Galvatron, meanwhile, is not that upset over the loss of Nemesis, since he did still get the Beast Power stored inside his Creation Matrix. He then holds the defeated Monsterbots at cannon-point and recalls how had had previously defeated the Autobots back in his own reality, complete with a flashback panel showing the dead Rodimus Prime strung up between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center (as seen back in the Marvel G1 issue "Rhythms of Darkness!").

As they lie in defeat, the Monsterbots' entire life flashes before their eyes, with a big flashback showing the creation of the Dinobots in 1985 (G1 seasons 1 and 2 both took place in 1985 in Japan since they were one long run of episodes instead of two separate seasons spanning 1984-1985 like they were in the West), Spike mentioning Vector Sigma to Wheeljack and Ratchet (I'm guessing this implies that the Dinobots were given actual souls by Vector Sigma at some point after their creation). Then we see the Monsterbots being built by Perceptor and the second Wheeljack (the first Wheeljack died in TFTM, this second one came to this world from the Binaltech world) in 2011 during early on in The Headmasters since Rodimus Prime is back in command at this time. Dialogue from Wheeljack suggests that the three were built as a response to the Sharkticons, G1 Predacons, and Terrorcons all being animal-based Transformers used by the enemy, so these three will give the Autobots some more animal-based TFs of their own. Then we see the Monsterbots' reassignment to Planet Beast, as such had occurred in The Headmasters. They stuck around and helped the Beastformers fight in the war against the Laser Beasts, and eventually became Headmasters during more recent events.

The flashback ends and White Leo, Tigerburn/Lione, and Hedgehog are disengaged from the Monsterbots, whose bodies get fried by Galvatron (fitting, since the dialogue refers to them by their Japanese name of "Firebots"). But then, the Three Wise Ones of ancient Beastformer history arrive on the scene. Taking a page from White Leo, they too then become new Headmaster forms to merge with the Monsterbots; said forms represented here by three Power of the Primes Prime Masters. The Three Wise Ones prepare to engage Galvatron as the manga reaches its cliffhanger ending that is to be continued...

And now the full English summary, correcting anything I missed/got wrong in my previous interpretation - https://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Road_to_Legends%27_Revival_Chapter_3

Rattrap returns to the Axalon with the Monsterbots in tow and tells the other Legends World evacuees where and when they have landed, but the explanation is interrupted when a gigantic object enters Beast's atmosphere: the Nemesis, a giant starship constructed by Galvatron II to drain the planet of its Beast Power. Initially surprised by the ship's appearance in the wrong era, Leo Prime realizes that while he knew its creator was a "Galvatron", he had mistakenly assumed it to be his era's Galvatron. Galvatron deploys his Decepticon army and a battle breaks out when the now allied Beastformers and Laser Beasts arrive to defend their world, led by Queen White Lune who speaks of a prophecy claiming White Leo and Tigerburn will return during a great crisis. Indeed, the two break out of their crystal prison and join the fray, much to the joy of Doublecross who was unable to battle in robot mode without Leo as his Headmaster. Grotusque is similarly afflicted, so Lione voluntarily re-merges with Tigerburn to provide him with a head.

Elsewhere, Rattrap drops a potted plant in the chaos and scrambles to retrieve it, the pot containing the last remaining soil of the Legends World. He nearly gets stepped on by Jolt when the plant suddenly defends him with a force field, revealing that the planet's Beast Power has evolved her into a sentient being named Botanica, before kissing Rattrap as thanks for protecting her. The Nemesis begins absorbing Beast Power and transmitting it into Galvatron's Creation Matrix, much to the concern of Rattrap who believes the energy will be key to reviving the Legends World. As Repugnus's army of drones is blasted out of the sky by Galvatron when they try to attack the ship, the Legends natives resolve to lend a hand and launch aboard the Axalon, where Leo Prime employs Transformers sickness to awaken their inner beasts and transform them into their "true" Beast Era forms. The Axalon pierces the Nemesis and the powered up Legends warriors proceed to cause havoc within, culminating in Optimus Primal, Leo Prime, and Big Convoy destroying the ship's core with a Triple Beast Convoy Matrix Attack. Galvatron isn't overly dismayed by the ship crashing into the planet as his Matrix has already been filled with plenty of Beast Energy, and he turns his cannon on the defeated Monsterbots while gloating that he will first destroy the Autobots, much like he did in his original dimension, and then he will go on to conquer all dimensions. White Leo and Tigerburn remain defiant, but the Monsterbots are ready to accept their fate...

While completing the Dinobots on Earth in 1985, Wheeljack and Ratchet explain to Spike that without Vector Sigma they cannot create true robotic life, advising him to see the Dinobots as something akin to animals instead. Wheeljack goes on to create the Monsterbots in 2011, programming them to be stupid to ensure they won't go on a rampage, but by now he feels "animal" robots like them are the same type of lifeform as other Transformers, just less intelligent. Deemed unsuitable for combat because of their silly personalities, the Monsterbots end up stationed on Beast where they're treated as equals by the Beastformers, and over time they develop higher intelligences equal to other Transformers.

Voicing their gratitude, the Monsterbots remove their Beastformer Headmasters and toss them to safety before being blasted by Galvatron. Suddenly, three of Beast's mystical Gems appear and speak, praising the Monsterbots' selfless spirits before transforming into their true forms—the legendary Three Wise Ones! Recognizing that their power is needed to protect Beast, they adopt robotic forms, transform into mechanical versions of the gems and combine with the Monsterbots, announcing that the time for "true evolution" has come.

So does this mean that canonically 'Prime Masters' do in fact have the ability to become headmasters proper and isn't just some leftover shared engineering?
