I will say this in Smoke/out's defense: at least it wasn't another Bumblebee.

Nemesis Prime and CYLAS Breakdown are kind of underwhelming. In the show they were more like washed out versions of their original colors than straight black. I'll refrain from judging too harshly until we get better pictures.

Cylas/Silas Breakdown looks pretty good. I agree that a more washed out and even darker blue would look better but the black doesn't look too bad. I have AM-12 Breakdown and having a black version for Silas will definitely stand out more than another shade of blue.
I preordered Silas, but not Smokescreen and I'm still glad I did. I agree with everybody about "not another BB mold" for Smokescreen, but Knockout's mold doesn't do it for me either. I just really hope Hasbro releases an actual Smokescreen mold in the Beast Hunters line (w/out all the spikes, helmets, gear too).

Nope, they're incorrect, FM is still 23. The new Devastator however is 20A, with A standing for "anime".

Smokescreen is a "meh". It looks decent, it's obviously not going to be perfect, but it's something I can live with. As mentioned by other users, "at least it isn't Bumblebee. "

This isn't G1, they don't have to look like G1. Arcee is blue, Smokescreen is white, Starscream is gray. Deal with it.

That's his grill. Someone forgot to fold it in, if that's even possible considering how much extra plastic is on there compared to plain 'ol Breakdown.

Your wording read as though you were talking about his old grill.PrymeStriker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:His chest has been retooled with a new grill.PrymeStriker wrote:skidflap wrote:anyone notice that breakdown has a retool on his chest? Or is it an attachment?

The PCCs look pretty neat. Not import neat, but still neat.

Master Sword. Just like the one Link had.
And that image was based on the second batch of photos, as you can see Fortress holding what is supposed to be the actual Master Sword. The final set will come with it, as TOMY stated it is a 25th anniversary Headmasters piece.

This is Japan. We might get our own mold.

How? I was responding to his comment on the retool on his chest. I even said mentioned how much extra plastic is on this grill compared to the old one.

I mean, I thought you were refuting his inquiry about it being a new grill instead of the old grill. By "extra plastic", I though you meant Breakdown himself instead of just the grill.PrymeStriker wrote:How? I was responding to his comment on the retool on his chest. So let me get this straight.
- Hasbro starts a new Aligned Continuity and reinvents numerous characters. This was big news.
- Hasbro starts a new series called Transformers Prime, which has been mentioned here virtually every week for around two years.
- Takara Tomy joins in and changes the tone, which has them showing their recent release of "Arms Micron" figures and other items.
And yet, none of this matters because you assume that they made errors and Hasbro are idiots... Despite the fact that the photos shown are not from the Hasbro line? That is "very observant" of you.
Sarcasm aside, this incarnation of Arcee has been around since the debut of Transformers Prime. Smokescreen became a new recruit from the second half of season 2, and has been impressive ever since. And like another said, they are not aiming to remake Generation 1... They are continuing a tradition that was started with Car Robots, Micron Dentsu Trilogy, and so on.

Legion Smokescreen is his own mold, not a retool of Legion Knock Out.That Bot wrote:There's still no ruling out the possibility of a new mold Deluxe Smokescreen during Beast Hunters. They retooled Legion Knock Out in Cyberverse, so they might do something for the Deluxe as well.

He is clearly Knock Out from the waist down.

He's not, they'd have the exact same design. Different design =/= retool.

Them legs ain't the same mold. If they were, all that would be different would be the deco.

It's like how Energon Starscream was similar to but still different from G2 Smokescreen.

No, Smokescreen is not an extensive retool of Knock Out. I get that they are similar, and I do agree, but they are not the same mold.
Additionally, we've seen no other new Autobot or Decepticon molds from Beast Hunters yet, just extensive retoolings, and I'm not inclined to think that Smokescreen is the exception.
Well, unless you count the Predacons, which are sort of Decepticons. Yet, it's been hinted that we'll be getting a Voyager Grimlock, and the mystery Voyager for Wave 1 I predict is Shockwave. Just because the first wave has no new 'bot and 'con molds doesn't mean that there won't be any in the line at all.

That Bot wrote:I seriously cannot be the only one that sees how glaringly similar these figures are. We've seen extensive retools before, and this is one. The details are different, but the shape and structure of the lower body is the same. One-piece legs that bend inwards at the knee, flat feet that are attached to the rear of the car (I'll acknowledge that Bumblebee also does this), a thin waist that's more like two perpendicular lines than a triangle like the other Legions. Smokescreen doesn't have the trunk of the car on the back of his legs, but that's because it's attached to his arms. The upper body has been restructured so Smokescreen can have the split hood and door wings. His arms still attach via the same odd right-angle hinges as Knock Out's and as best I can tell, his hood folds up and over in the same way as Knock Out's. Additionally, we've seen no other new Autobot or Decepticon molds from Beast Hunters yet, just extensive retoolings, and I'm not inclined to think that Smokescreen is the exception.
Just because they're similar, doesn't mean one is a "retool" of the other. Lots of molds share common features.

If I was counting the Predacons as Decepticons, that would kind of contradict my own statement. I don't expect wave 1 to be indicative of the whole line, and I'll admit, you got me on the mystery Voyager. I forgot about that. So assuming it's Shockwave or Grimlock and not another Pred or Optimus/Megatron, that would be my theory, destroyed. Now that I've taken the time to analyze the two figures, I can see how many little details they've got different that point towards new mold rather than retool. I rest my case.
Back to my original statement: Hopefully we'll see one of the existing molds turned into a better Deluxe Smokescreen than Takara's, if Hasbro doesn't just flat-out make a new mold for him.
