JTPrime17, who is part of our Seibertronian community, has posted finding new listings in the Walmart app. these listings are definitely new though it's tough right now to make anything of them, as you will soon see. Here are the complete names of these upcoming toys:
Tra Gen G1 Red Soundwave
EAN: 5010993729012
Tra Gen G1 Red Megatron
EAN: 5010993729029
The fact that this is from Walmart, who have had G1 exclusives for the past few years, along with "G1" in the listing could point to G1 toys. But, of course, there's Megatron and we will never have a rerelease of G1 Megatron, the gun, in America. We see that it also has the word "Gen" in there, so it could be part of the Generations line and the "red" being a redeco. Honestly, it could be anything, aside form the aforementioned G1 gun megatron. So let us know what you think.

Another possibility is Siege Megatron and Soundwave with no "dirt" and some chromed parts to make them look like the G1 toys.

What are the chances that "red" is short for "redeco" and these are Siege Toys redeco'd into G1 color schemes?

About as likely as Will said it was in the article.

Huh. Whoops. I swear it didn't say that initially. But I guess I just have selective reading.

yes, and it would look really cool

I'm starting to get concerned about the number of Megatrons being pumped out, with the number of Siege (and, last I checked, 35th anniversary) Megatrons still clogging the shelves. If this is a redeco/retool of Siege or ER Megs, this will be the fifth version of essentially the same voyager Megs released at retail in just two years, with a whopping 3 of them as Wal-Mart exclusives.
Of course, maybe these are reissues of G1 Soundwave and G2 Megatron in G1 colors, or something like that.

I don't think anyone has suggested this yet, but Studio Series is technically Generations... What if it's two of the Studio Series molds??
(I don't actually believe it is, but how f***ing rad would a blue car-Soundwave be?!)

Walmart carried a G1 reissue of Soundwave just last year, though. I don't think these are G1 toys, based on that, and the fact that G1 Megatron will never be reissued outside of Japan ever again. I think Hasbro knows that recoloring a G2 Megatron in gray, black, and red would be cheating too. It would be nice if we had prices to go with these mysterious listings.

NERF guns and the like aren't remotely realistic-looking, though. G1 Megatron, on the other hand, is an expertly-crafted replica of a Walther P38. It's possible that he could pass muster if he was cast entirely in the same color of transparent plastic, to prove that he's just a toy, but retailers are still leery.soundwave765 wrote:So we can have NERF guns... and other weapon related toys but we can not have a G1 Megatron!!?? I'm afraid not even then. Aside from the colors, NERF toys also have some ridiculous proportions compared to real firearms, and even the smallest ones can't be concealed without it looking odd. Not suspect, just weird.
Really, toy guns and genuine firearms need to be of separate designs for the sake of quick and easy recognition by anyone, especially law enforcement. You wouldn't be the first to be shot and/or killed by someone mistaking a (realistically designed) toy for the real thing.

Plausible... were it not the fact Hasbro has problems releasing that toy now. The original Classics deco won't do anymore, so what did they do for the latest Platinum Edition release in 2016?
They were really pushing it with the 2010 Legion if you must know:

And for the sake of argument, Hasbro did try with this little gem back in 2002, but Toys 'R Us back out:

O, the implications that would bring I was merely aiming the TR jet mode, but that could work too.

If by Alternate Universe they mean Shattered Glass as many are speculating... They better give Soundwave some kind of headband in the package. I don't wanna have to search around for another twisty-tie to use for it.
Personally, given they have "G1" in the listing name, I don't think these will be that (I'm guessing G1 toy or comic colors, or maybe more cel-shaded cartoon ones), but it would definitely be cool to get Siege Soundwave in Shattered Glass colors.
