But anyway, anyone else see T-AI in the background as well? Ma-a-a-a-an, if they make these... Mmh!
EDIT: Also, Kremzeek. Because !

Sabrblade and I compiled the cameo list a couple of posts ago. And the comic is read in reverse in Japan (how many times have I said that already? )

Like Bumblebee, they both like dressing up it seems. Between panels even.

Let's see there's:
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Purple silhouette guy
A Constructicon
Jazz
Ratchet
Bulldog
Mindwipe
Weirdwolf
C-X
Alligatorcon
Cerebros (different guy from Fortress, apparently)
Ironhide
Mirage
Hound
Huh, not much fanwankery here besides C-X and the Alligatorcon.

This is TakaraTomy and Japan we're talking here. Not Hasbro. but I know you're going to ignore that for whatever reason anyway.

I missed that. But honestly Im surprised. Usually dumbed down TF toys are geared towards the "western market". Takara usually makes nothing but the good stuff. I wonder if they'll end up with constructobots as well ?

Actually, TakaraTomy releases just about anything Hasbro has after some tweaking. So yes, we can expect Construct-Bots over there and the "dumbed down" TF toys for the new movie. They have kids there too, you know?

Even robot heroes and rescue bots. I always assumed their kids stuff was kaybaya figures and arms microns in coin operated candy machines. In other words, stuff that adults like too. Just my guess from what i see on these front page stories...

I said "just about". I could see Rescue Bots being imported for the heck of it though All in all, despite having a larger portfolio of lines especially for us collectors (like Bandai does), TakaraTomy is still a toy company and Hasbro's analog in Japan, thus they're paying at least as much attention to kids as Hasbro does.
Back on topic, I'm a bit surprised nobody said anything about the gator resembling Skullcruncher a bit with the window in its head.

The whole comic is based on the G1 episode City of Steel where the Decepticons turn Prime's body into an Alligatorcon. The last panel even shows Prime's severed arm firing at random.

Is Japan being weaponized/fortified a reference to something? Seemingly every other thing is.
EDIT: Love how Waspinator is in pieces at the end!

Grand Galvatron was to have been the ultimate result of Galvatron's long term master plan for the middle arc of the Headmasters cartoon. Throughout the midway point of the show, the Decepticons had been conducting a long term campaign of raiding planet after planet for their energy resources, with Galvatron keeping the true purpose of all this energy looting a secret. Eventually, though, his plans came to light when his confided his true plan with Sixshot: He was going to use all the harvested energy to reconstruct the planet Earth into a gigantic new body for himself called "Grand Galvatron", and become ruler of the universe. Though, this plan to incorporate the Earth into Galvatron's systems had one small detail that did not sit well with Sixshot: In order for Galvatron to complete this goal, he would also require that some parts from the bodies of the best of the best Decepticons (which included Sixshot) be integrated into Galvatron to compensate for any weaknesses he'd have.Darth Jumpy wrote:I remember looking up clips from the English Headmasters dub, and saw a clip of Galvatron transforming into a planet and declaring, "I am Unicorn!" I sort of want to know what is up with Grand Galvatron now.
Though, this plan never came to fruition since Galvatron was killed in battle before the plan could be set in motion.
Here's a video with more on the subject:
And here's the silly Malaysian English version that you mentioned:

Also, that extra Megatron helmet isn't Animated Megatron's, it's Super Megatron's.

The Alya from Torkulon? Sneaky.
And seriously? Super Megatron, with the two circles in the crest? In my defense I wasn't that far off then, as Animated Megs is based on him,

You mean the circles, or the analogy? If the latter, at least the helmet designs of Super Megatron and Animated (Earth Mode) Megatron are a match.

That still leaves Megatron's helmet... if it actually is Megatron's...

But we weren't arguing...
Anywho, it seems the new artist is taking a different approach to senaking in obscure stuff. Whereas we first had tons of obscure characters, now we have complete episodes. The previous one mainly spoofed The Master Builders, the one before that City of Steel, now we have these: Transformers the Movie with Galvatron's birth down to the grid pattern in the background, and Starscream's coronation scene. And then Headmasters' Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime with Optimus and Rodimus Prime at the same time, obviously. Webworld, any episode with Galvatron's sparking (like FFoD pt.2 and The Big Broadcast of 2006)... Are there more?

I know, I wasn't trying to imply there was an argument. I was just saying, let's say it's a double homage.

Otherwise, we'd have to label the helmet a homage to Animated Megatron in every single issue it appears in since it's the standard Kre-O Megatron helmet, and no one's claiming the same for the Sharkticon Megatron helmet yet the only thing about that helmet that homages Sharkticon Megatron is just its deco.

Sabrblade wrote:I'm not really sure how it's a homage to Animated Megatron since the homage in question only comes from the deco, which is Super Megatron-based. The shape wasn't in question.

And I was talking from a deco point of view with the Kre-O helmets. I also said that between Animated Megatron and Super Megatron individually, the helmet designs match.

Well, what is it about the deco of Animated Megatron's helmet that would make a Kre-O version of it different from the regular Kre-O Megatron helmet? Since the "SM" is the only thing on the helmet that points it to Super Megatron.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I'm not really sure how it's a homage to Animated Megatron since the homage in question only comes from the deco, which is Super Megatron-based. Well I'll be darned. The "S" looked like two circles to me, that's what threw me off.
