I'm really curious about the stability of such a massive amount of plastic mad of so many separate figures?D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I'm not worried about the height of this guy, I'm more thinking how heavy is this monster gonna be? That's $260 retail of figures slammed into one giant basically 4 legged beast! He's gonna be huge in more of a Trypticon way than a Metroplex way, and that is OK with me!

stock pose
Waist rotation, siege can do a 360limit of forward hip movement and knee bendoutward Hip movement, backwords hip movement and knee bend again ankle rocker limit and what ever that thing is where they pose with their first punching each other infront of them chest doors open pose
slight neck rotation my copy of BB optimus' neck moves upwards at that point do to the neck molding upper neck movement both necks can theoretically do a 360 side to side rotation so it was omitted,
upper shoulder and elbow bend limitations on both figures approximation of a two handed gun holding pose
BBOP appears to be more able to do such a pose despite limitations of articulation
Dynamic running pose
So far which is better is if you prefer dynamics pose options do to weight distributions or articulation options

william-james88 wrote:While the toy came out in Asia, there was still very little known about the distribution of Transformers Studio Series 31 Voyager Class Movie 2 Battle Damaged Megatron in the west. Target is rumored to get it in the US, but there is no listing yet. However, we now know that it will be a Toysrus exclusive in Canada thanks to a listing that just popped up. It will be $40 CAD, the same price as non exclusive leaders, meaning a price point of $30 USD if it comes to the US. It can be preordered right now and will ship out August 2019. You can see the official images below which give us a really good look at the deco in tank mode.
While this toy only ships within Canada (including Quebec, yay!), it is possible for people outside Canada to ship it to their address though a shipping forwarding service (as it is for any item that doesn't ship to your country).
That's a good news. I want to buy him and I probably will. Unfortunately, it mean that my original SS ROTF Megs will have to be sold for dirt cheap. My evil side would like to make a toy-swap, but I'm against the principle.

my apologies, I didn't do anything except provide facts and reference a meme i always wanted to say
O no, I didn't mean it like that.
With your correction, it only shows even more that the costs per year for Devastator is really lopsided in favor of 2020. Not quite fair I'd say.
only if you forgo getting the Takara tomy version of Scrapmetal who releases in a couple months
Which is odd... unless Hasbro goofed with printing the release date. The numbering seems in favor for a 2019 release. In order:
37 Constructicon Rampage
41 Constructicon Scrapmetal
42 Constructicon Long Haul
47 Constructicon Hightower
Costs are still lopsided
Well i can admit when I am wrong, seems Fc203 on Tfw2005.com has found scrapmetal at retail in Texas https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/ ... l.1170308/

Nah, that's been overdone by other robot stuffs and doesn't have the agility. I wasn't too keen on Rampage at first but I've really warmed to him. I do kinda wish the lower half could split into pincery leg things like on previous figures of him but I quite like this one too. Devastator is gonna be a costly project but damn he does look pretty awesome all combined and I ain't even a fan of combiners (though I do love how RotF Devs makes a lot more sense structurally than most)
SS Jetfire and the Starscreams really are my fave jetformers ever made. I love their unique robot modes a lot but also their jet modes are pretty gorgeous and relatively kibble free (ignoring Jetfire's whiskers) and they transform beautifully too and securely.
Weird thing. Day after i took these photos, the RotF Starscream had fallen down (his stand is a lil weak, i should swap it out for one of my spares) but had landed on the floor still with the stand on bottom holding him up in jet mode). Very odd and kinda cool.
Again I love 5mm weapon compatibility. Jetpower Prime wielding G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime's black guns. I sometimes use G1 Starscream missile launchers (no missiles though) on the SS Starscreams too.
Annoyingly my G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime has succumbed to the dreaded trailer post breakage but I've managed to push the broken post far into Prime himself (as there was space to do so and I couldn't get it out) and sliced a 5mm post of a Wolfwire gun (from a half-assed Carnivac repaint) cos similar size and colour that I've superglued onto the trailer's bit. It fits well enough that it stays hitched on the shelf in truck mode but not too tight that it would break off again. Frustrating this happens now just as I made an eBay auction to sell the figure after 30 years. Have removed the eBay auction for now and will rewrite it later on mentioning the repair job i had to do. :/

Thanks. Is a lil rough in places due to anxiety-related shakey wrists but since I like my movie bots to look a bit worn that works well for me and deliberately add a bit of silver to some of the edges to give it that worn metal look too like they often have in the films. I used Tamiya gloss model paints. On past paintings I had to use matte paints for general coloured areas that weren't silver or gold or something cos that's all there was available locally to me but they've got the range of gloss paints in now which are so much better so I grabbed those for Prime here so his red and blue were shiny (though matching the blue has been tricky so have left some of those areas the original plastic colour). The flames aren't painted on as I can't do those and so they're just using the SS05 Toyhax stickers as placeholders until they do a SS32 set (one of the chest ones went wonky on the pic of Jetpower Prime above cos it's stickiness ain't so great since I peeled it off my SS05)
Here's Prime without the Jetfire parts.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Enjoy your Transformers.
Will be cool to see your DotM Prime later in the year.

Both look FANTASTIC in robot mode, like perfect, I could not be happier with either in robot mode. I wish Jetfire could hold his axe a little lower, but it's still really good. I like the fact that the cane actually tabs in somewhere and is stable. And everything about Megatron's robot mode is great!
But then we get to posing, transformation, and alternate modes.
Jetfire's posability is really good, so no complaints on him. But Megatron, come on, why did you design his thigh this way??? He is so hard to pose cause his thighs are only on highly restricted ball joints. For some reason, SIEGE is making leaps and bounds with posability, but STUDIO SERIES seems to be getting worse. Why?????
Megatron can transform, but the back is really finnicky in 2 spots with the tank, and he refuses to hold together back there without a lot of scary force, scary cause of how bendy all that plastic is. But once you get him there, he is really cool. I love him save for that once section of transformation and his thighs.
Jetfire, wow, Jetfire is BAD. I have tried 3 times over the course of 4 hours, and I have not gotten him into jet mode yet. His legs refuse to work, they refuse to tab in straight. I cannot get his legs and arms to tab into jet mode in ANY location, and his front and back parts of his legs will not align either. I have yet to see a good jet mode out of him, and it's so depressing! He just won't cooperate!

That's a shame to hear about megs, I passed on him, cuz he felt like such a downgrade from the dotm voyager, and now, I'm not sure if I'll even bother.
As for jetfire, he takes a ton of work to get together, if you can get the feet to tab in properly to the thigh - or wherever - then it should make the legs rigid; as for the rest, it's all up to the pathetic back panels, I don't think all the measurements made on the tabs were accurate. The parts above his shoulders in bot mode actually keep the entire vehicle mode together, they tab the shoulders to the legs and 'lock' in with the rest of the fuselage; but they don't match up, or, at the very least the shoulders just won't stay tabbed in.
Fortunately, his vehicle mode is the least interesting mode, and his bot mode is so expressive and poseable that it doesn't even feel like a loss - especially since it's a combiner

See, Megatron is the better of the 2 to me. I wish he had more of his old toy posability, but the new looks is definitely better overall.
Jetfire annoys me cause I haven't been able to find Prime or Bonecrusher, and those are the only 2 figures from wave 1 I need to find period. I want to make Jet Prime, especially since Jetfire's jet mode is so disappointing

Thats pretty standard actually. Walmart has a certain anti competition clause with Hasbro on online orders. I dont know the gist of it well but I know it exists. Hasbro's been able to circumvent it recently for the reveals of Toyfair 2018.

I don't get this at all. I've had absolutely no issues with transforming Jetfire at all and have done so several times since I got him at start of year. It's actually a pretty simple transformation too and I didn't use the instructions (never even took them out of box).
I even posted two pics of him in jet mode on the previous page.
posting.php?mode=quote&f=4&p=2012972
Can you post pics of the parts you're having trouble with? I'm not saying this stuff to appear superior or smug, I'm genuinely trying to help folk enjoy the figure they've purchased that I have no had any trouble with. Kinda like when William-James had issues with Jazz not transforming properly but was cos he had missed the peg inside the roof that plugs into his backside and when done the panels fit just fine.
Edit: took a couple pics of the underside of my Jetfire if it's of any help to you guys. I took it with the axe attached first before realising I should remove it so took another pic without it too.
If you need me to peel back any parts so you can see how the legs are transformed and such just let me know.
I swore off buying new toys for a lil while but that DotM Megatron is still tempting me. I still need Bonecrusher and to find a cheap Brawl someplace too.

In my opinion? Because Siege is primarily designed as a children's toys first, and Studio Series is primarily designed as a display piece first. I could be way off there, but that is how it feels to me.
I, too, am shocked that you are having trouble with Jetfire. I was able to transform him perfectly without instructions. I'm sorry you are having trouble.
I haven't transformed Megatron yet, to be honest, so I don't know about the issues there, but I would agree with you on the hips.

I wouldn't say Studio Series is being designed to be a line of display pieces. I'd actually say that it's a line that's trying to cope with transforming realistic vehicles to robot modes that have some parts of the vehicle, but also lots of parts that disappear or change size, and as a result of that, articulation is taking a step back to allow for transformation to take place. Though, I can't really explain the lack of wrist swivels on some of the figures...

Sentinel_Primal wrote: Though, I can't really explain the lack of wrist swivels on some of the figures...
Which ones should and could (where transformation allows wrist be thick enough)? Blackout was certainly one but the Shockwave Lab hands on mine really helped with that and added finger articulation so that's good. It's rare on the Deluxes (given the size probably), with the voyagers Optimus (SS05 and SS32), Ironhide and Starscream have it (dunno about Brawl cos I don't have him and Megatron has weird hands in general), I can't remember if Grimlock had it on his one hand cos I sold him in favour of Black Mamba's version but Jetfire has similar wrists to Starscream.

Specifically, Ratchet could have benefitted with having them. And I think the Lockdown and Stinger molds could have been engineered slightly differently to allow for wrist swivels, but I don't they're as important there

Yeah I can agree on Ratchet, holding him in hand now. Not sure about Lockdown and Stinger molds since their hands are so integrated with the car doors (pretty much the whole back of the hand is door) I can't see that being possible. But yeah Ratchet's could have potentially been done.

Personally, I can't really talk about most of the molds as distribution and shelf warming has made it to where the stores in my area just have Dropkick and DotM Ratchet for the deluxes, and RotF Starscream for the voyagers and they haven't restocked the leaders so I haven't been able to grab any of the figures I've been looking at, but wanting to see in hand how they look before buying. On the plus side though, it looks like all the coming figures look great in the renders and at the physically reveals, so I don't have to hunt for them in store when they come out cause I can just find them online

I had to get RotF Starscream shipped from the US cos I couldn't find it in the UK, certainly not in actual stores but it turned out to be about £7 cheaper including the shipping to do so anyways cos Amazon US were selling it for 20 dollars so yay for me But yeah I've not seen any of the Jetfire, SS32 Prime, DotM Megatron, Sideswipe, Barry and co wave to appear in stores here yet. I've bought the ones I have from that lot online. A ton of Thundercrackers seems to have recently appeared to clog up the shelves at The Entertainer for £19.99. Presumably left-over Toys R Us stock (though the nearest TRU closed over a year ago).
