I used EMS. It was a whopping 4000y of shipping, but the other option was SAL at 3850y. So, EMS it was. And MAN, that was almost Star-Trek Beam-Me-Up fast!

It need 2 AAA batteries that I don't have at the moment. I will tell you guys tomorrow once I buy some.

Looking back at the pics, I realize there is something I dont like, the feet point outward in an odd way rather than inward. Is that normal?
Also, here are some more pics of this beast!

Try some Gary Chalk as Prime. It might expand your horizons of acceptable voice actors for robots named Optimus.

Though, Neil Kaplan and David Kaye are great Optimuses too, with Kaye working well as a young Optimus and Kaplan being self-proclaimed as "the George Lazenby of Optimus Primes".

Ah yes, he is very good, thanks for the education guys. I like the metallic ring too their voice as well, I didn't realize that was something missing from my life. And the transformations were cool. I missed this series when it aired, well now I have something for my next binge watch session.

Please do tell us how you find his transformation. Also, mine have a loose left arm and a slightly loose left leg. I wont risk putting nail polish or some sh!t in there to try and tighten the joints.
Also, finnicky transformation is finnicky. With things popping in and out of pegs all the time.
Despite these minor flaws, I find it great looking and pretty fun to pose. I just need some batteries for his MILLIONS of voice samples!

I confirm he's as tall as Star Convoy, God Ginrai, and Omega Supreme (without the weapon rack).

Wait, as in G1 Omega Supreme? He's that big? All pics I've seen of him make him look smaller than that. I didn't think he was any bigger than G1 Metroplex.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Does that mean that he's around the height of God Ginrai, Star Saber, RiD 2001 Omega Prime, and Armada Super Base Optimus Prime?Seibertron wrote:I just got TAV21 Optimus Prime. That would be great! Since he doesnt have a release outside of Japan, there isnt as much info on him. I look forward to what you come up with for the stuff he will be carrying in his trailer.
And yes, he is bigger than all (yes all) Leader Class figures because I guess that after all he isnt a leader. Is he as big as Primus, Unicron and Cybertron Starscream (US)? Because then he would be supreme class, as Kanrabat had alluded to.
In any case, he is way past the Leader Size range:
Posted by -Kanrabat- on July 31st, 2015 @ 9:27pm CDT
TAV-21 is tall, not massive. I consider him a "leader" class like Animated Lockdown is a deluxe. Both are freakishly tall, but are not that massive or heavy.
Still, make the figure well worth owning.

Wolfman Jake wrote:Well, I just got my TAV-21 Optimus Prime this morning, and...he's all right. I'm surprised that much of the plastic is of the rather soft and thin variety. To those who say Hasbro has been the driving force behind these changes in Transformer plastic quality over the past several years, I submit to you this product completely of Takara's own design, not solicited by Hasbro. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I got this figure. He's massive, Warrior class cars fit inside him like a glove, and his Transformation does some neat things, but at the same time, a lot of the steps are fiddly, some things don't want to tab in securely, and there are some odd engineering choices that leave some unfortunate gapping in parts of the figure (and I'm not even talking about the hollow legs). Overall, it's a nice, BIG figure, but for something that surpasses the size of recent Leader class toys, it doesn't quite surpass them in Leader class quality.
100% agree with you.

Since I haven't received mine yet, I'll go by you feedback of the soft plastic (shades of DotM Ark and Optimus Maximus ?), the d@mn electronic gimmick is to blame! Instead of dumping cash on hard plastic, they split the funding for the voice gimmick and the body structure.

Yeah they just changed a couple days ago to now August 2015 as the date. Im pretty excited for this little guy. Are they still re-releasing the tank Rumble and Frenzy or was that just a rumor?

Although I have read that these molds werent great. Of course, all the reviews take the really big price of back then into account so its hard to judge.

I'm gonna go pretend the shipping from Japan would totally make that irrelevant even though I know better.

They're not bad, just a touch fiddly. Pretty ambitious design to have the tank treads try to double as piledrivers and, while they got close, the final outcome is not quite completely satisfying. I'd still recommend them as a pretty good Classics Rumble/Frenzy, but it might be worth waiting to see what Hasbro does next year (assuming Buzzsaw and the leaked Blaster image are bell-weathers for all the cassette characters)william-james88 wrote:Although I have read that these molds werent great.
