It is an in hand image of Optimus Prime posed in his robot mode.
To those unaware, we know from a previous image (shown below) that the alternate mode is very inspired by the truck in the G1 cartoon. We also know he has a 35 step conversion and that the figure comes with the "San Francisco Bridge" backdrop, which is where he meets Bumblebee at the end at the end of the film.
This figure will be coming out mid spring next this year.

That's Chinese, so it's still Hasbro schedule give or take a few months. TakaraTomy releases do usually come later than Hasbro, but both sets of 4 should still be released within the two years specified.

Its just from a different angle than what we saw in the box pictures. It ends up a lot longer looking than that box art made it look.

It’s not a retool of siege. That’s just a theory people keep saying but if you look at how his legs transform, they accordion from the side instead of the back similar to blastoff, rook and brawl molds. It’s a new mold.

What frustration, that here on out every single toy will be Optimus Prime, to the point that we are currently looking at literally a Transformers: Bumblebee Optimus Prime?

BTW guys, pictures of the components of Devastator and possibly a teaser of KSI Boss have been posted on TFW2005. Check it out:

Edit: You already know about Devastator's components, but the possible KSI Boss teaser is interesting, if it's not fake anyway

I did that with Optimus, thats why i always buy my figures as cheap as possible. So that i can then sell them as equally cheap if ever need be and not be stuck with a bunch of unwanted figures.
For that Megatron, I plan to be a bit evil. The new one may be returned because he's "defective".

That’s the one. Just...so many Optimus Primes that all look the same.. I bet GEEWUN John Warden eats plain oatmeal and boiled goose every single day for breakfast, because he doesn’t seem to like any variety.

To be a little fair this time, it was Travis Knight who wanted a G1-looking Optimus in the movie, and at least the Siege line will be giving us a Cybertron-based Leader class Optimus.Nemesis Maximo wrote:william-james88 wrote:Nemesis Maximo wrote:My frustrations aside, that does look a lot better in-hand than the official product shots.

On which part? For the former, there was that whole video in which Knight talked about the designs being G1-based like he wanted, while the latter had that IDW art of everyone (minus Windblade) in their Siege toy designs with Optimus as a retool of Magnus's inner robot wearing his Cybertron altmode's truck front on his chest.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:To be a little fair this time, it was Travis Knight who wanted a G1-looking Optimus in the movie, and at least the Siege line will be giving us a Cybertron-based Leader class Optimus.Nemesis Maximo wrote:william-james88 wrote:Nemesis Maximo wrote:My frustrations aside, that does look a lot better in-hand than the official product shots.

I just wonder if they release other Constructicons later...(i.e Demolishor)...if they will have compatibility with Devastator as well.
Some advantages I see with spacing out the releases throughout 2019 & 2020, is that it is DEFNITELY easier on the wallet. Some disadvantages are...For some like myself, it would be hard to resist the notion that or may release some form of special Box Set, perhaps even as a convention exclusive the closer this thing comes to completion. The only bad part is, if one were to wait, and no such thing was ever made, then it would be difficult to go back and get some of the first figures that would no longer be available. But it would seem almost like a waste of funds to obtain them all upon release, if a box set appeared later....
decisions, decisions...

Not sure, how to explain it. Its o.k I guess, but there's something off about it.
The guns look very different to me. Beyond perspective. The one the box seems to have a rounded barrel, while the one he's holding in reality is flat and angular and much longer.
Need more pictures before I can say for sure.

Tbh I side with neither the G1 or Bayverse preachers. I love Transformers. Period. If the movies go full G1, that's fiiiine with me. Soundwave was amazing in this movie after all. Almost worth it just for him.

I get it, and I understand exactly what you are saying. But I think thats ok because while taking from other designs, it is still new and we never got a good look at this hybrid. So it needs some warming up to. I still think this toy is a great accomplishment for being this close to a brand new CG model and looking so "clean" in bot mode (kibble wise).

For me, it'd depend on how they handle it because I've been holding off on getting SS Starscream because I've always hated that triangle body. I'd love it if they made the Cybertron Seeker design cause it was just so weird and quirky, but I'd definitely buy Blitzwing just to use him as a Starscream. But if he looks too similar to Starscream's original body type, I'll bite the bullet and just buy Starscream. Though, this would be acceptable too

Leader DOTM Megs has some chunky legs. Looks like he has elephantiasis in BOTH legs, and then he's got backwards Popeye arms. I'm also leery of that cape/cloak as the weave on the fabric looks very loose, and there isn't any stitching on the edges of it to hold the fabric together, or to prevent edge fraying that I can see.
I do like Igor. The little body-less head is so adorably ugly, but not enough to warrant leaving the Megs to sit in the box in some storage tub.

It's probably due to the fact that the truck he transforms into is "God damn huge" since it's not just the truck but also the long tanker as well, it's longer then any other alt mode he has in the movies besides maybe the TLK plane which itself is "thinner" then the truck which is both big in mass and long.
He's still taller then Optimus in DOTM itself as well.
But yeah, I don't know how tall he is but I hope that he's still relatively in scale with the others.
Igor is the best as well and I will hear no objections otherwise about that cute, little, green...head.

No, what they should have done is engineer it to better compress the mass (and just plain better engineer it). Megs' tanker truck mode is more or less the same size as his first 2 altmodes, but with the mass distributed differently (length instead of breadth).
Here's the problem with making him a Voyager:
I think if they'd really put their mind to it they could have done a Leader Megs that scaled properly with a Voyager Optimus (taller but not monstrously so, and also bulkier and broader). But alas.
Posted by o.supreme on January 3rd, 2019 @ 4:45pm CST
Here is an interesting size chart. I disregarded all the animated Megatrons, since there really isn't any size scale there, but Movie Megatron being 35 feet tall in robot mode in movies 1-3 does seem to make sense.
I would think the Space Ship (movie 1) would be his largest alternate mode, with space tank being (from RotF) slightly smaller, and tanker truck from DotM being smaller still.
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on January 3rd, 2019 @ 5:32pm CST
We actually see Megs' tank mode in close proximity to Optimus' truck mode in ROTF - it's wider and bulkier, but not much longer. So the mass would seem to about tally with a smaller cab and a trailer.
Posted by Deadput on January 3rd, 2019 @ 5:43pm CST
But yes Megatron's tank and jet modes from the first two movies are not actually that big, they have mass but they look bigger then they actually are, their Cybertronian modes without pilot cockpits so they can afford to be smaller.
