Cyberpath, we have, courtesy of Takara Tomy Mall, stock images of many upcoming Wave 3 figures, including Voyager Class Springer, Deluxe Class Red Alert, Battle Master Smashdown, and Micromasters Blackjack and Hyperdrive! These new stock photos show the figures from all angles, and in the case of Springer, in all his altmodes. We can see that Springer has a good amount of battle damage paint applications, and that while Red Alert is almost straight recolor of Sideswipe, with just some slight retooling to the helmet horns, he has a very different deco and extensive paint applications to make him stand out against his mold-mate. The Sports Car Patrol of Blackjack and Hyperdrive are slight retools of the Autobot Race Car Patrol, flashing some very different colors. And Smashdown is the most adorable/mean looking Minotaur Wreckers Mascot this side of the Multiverse.
Check out all the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Springer looks... Iffy to me. I like the figure's design and proportions, but the colors seem... Too play-doh like if that makes sense. Especially the green. Hopefully it looks better in hand

Springer's details (especially the flat chest) are not consistent with Siege line. Detail-wise it almost looks like a Deluxe rather than a Voyager class figure. I agree with the previous poster about the play-doh green color just look bad... (easy fix as I paint my figures).
I thought Hasbro can't top the Trilling 30 Springer ever in a main line so I thought I'd never have to get another Springer (except - MAYBE - Masterpiece) but this... this... while the engineering and quality still isn't anywhere close to the T30 mold, but damn... the G1 nostagia is calling me to get it.
Red Alert is a pass for me, not worth double dipping on the same mold.

Nemesis Primal wrote:These pictures of Red Alert are missing red on his lightbar and arms, and I think he looks worse for it. His arms just being solid white doesn't look good, and the main reason I was interested in Red was because his color scheme was so much more varied than Sideswipe and it made the mold look better. I really hope this is going to end up being like Magnus's gun where the main Hasbro release isn't accurate to these Takara pictures, because otherwise that's a figure off the purchase list.
I've noticed yet another difference between these "in hand" product shots from Takara Tomy and the Hasbro official renders we've seen earlier, when it comes to Red Alert, at least. These new pictures of Red Alert seem to be missing the "Fire Chief" Cybertronian writing on the side of the windowed dome and on the bottom of the chest/edge of the car mode hood.

On a side note... finally dragged out the T30 and Combiner wars (see following post for them).
I have to assume they’ll do Arcee... but I wonder which way they’ll go. The Titan’s version I think matches thr asctethic better... but that T30 G1 look....
Also wonder if they’ll keep the black highlights. Maybe it’s the Phantasy Star fan in me... but I like the pop

I'm wondering when we'll see a new Windblade. Her last Generations figure was also in Titans Return, and she seems to be a major character in the new comics, so I'm expecting an update before Arcee. On the other hand, there are multiple Cyberverse toys for her, so maybe not.

So i’ve been wanting to do this comparison for a while. You really can’t go wrong with either collection imo. Siege will definitely be more unique and mechanically interesting. But the CW line as a whole still looks nice together. (For sake of full disclosure- this is the Takara Prime set). Meant to grab both Hounds... but I think this is a fair summary.

Doubt Windblade will be a tetra jet as the comics show her with her Earth mode. As for Slipstream: Yes please! Though I'd want her to have a new mold actually, it's a real shame that all but one of her toys has been a repaint of an existing one.

I generally like the designs and engineering on these, but whenever I get a new one in hand, I feel like the plastic is cheap and that they cut too many corners on the final products (let no putting pegs in starscreams chest plate.

In an amusing twist, a recent Starscream mold got retooled into a female character at mass retail. But it wasn't as Slipstream, it was as Elita-1.

Even though he came out first, it really looks more like Elita 1 was the original idea and Starscream was the random retool opportunity to have more G1 on the shelves. hasbro never cared for that mold as a seeker, proven by the lack of any further redecos.

For my part, I really like this Springer. He evokes the G1 aesthetic as well as the IDW pre-thrilling 30 aesthetic. I guess I'm going to end up owning both - I still have Thrilling 30 in the box.

I like Springer, but what I don't like is the "battle damage" being on the green part of his chest instead of the yellow. In both alt modes the fronts look strange being bright yellow in the middle and all scuffed up on the sides. The colors don't bother me at all, they're basically cartoon accurate.

I'm really excited about this Springer even though I have T30. It'll be nice to get one that's more G1 in toy and character design. And my collection (if not shelving) has room for both: Siege with the animated movie cast, and T30 with the Wreckers.

I don't mind how the battle damage looks, and I don't get the "Play-doh" look of the plastic. I think he looks great, just wondering how tall he is compared to the T30 version

Yeah, I'm usually pretty chill when it comes to decos. I don't really need accuracy to this, that, or the other. But, it's crazy how just by simply omitting the red biceps changes Red Alert's whole appearance. He just looks so washed out. I was excited for this release because out of all these flippin' toys I have, I don't have a CHUG Red Alert. Now I'm wondering If I should maybe hunt down an old Gen one.
I'll leave final judgement to seeing him in person with my own eyes.

Red Alert seems to have undergone a trade off. He's got a remolded head, which he didn't have in the renders. However, he's lost a lot of paint applications. I like that he looks different from Sideswipe, but he looks very plain now.
And what the heck is with the black light bar???
Edit: Now that I look at it more, the light bar is a different color from the other black parts on Red Alert. It may not actually be black after all. Could just be a darker translucent red, and the lighting is playing tricks on us.

It's worth noting that not only did CG render Red Alert have red biceps, his lightbar was also red, his head was a red version of Sideswipe's, and he had more Cybertronian text on his front hood/stomach (and I think his gun thingy was gray, but w/e). That's a serious change from this, and it's really disappointing.
Methinks someone went ham on Sideswipe with the photo editor before checking to see if it was financially feasible. Vehicle mode looks nice, but that's prob not the most he'll be displayed in most...

I still really like Red Alert. While I would've liked the red on the arms if it came down to either doing that or giving him a new head I'm glad they chose new head. I don't think the light bar is actually black. If you look at the edges of the bar in the bot mode picture it looks more like a deep red.

I had previously seen the Jetfire stock images on TFW when someone from The Fwoosh posted them there. In classic Hasbro stock photo fashion, the figure is slightly mistransformed in robot mode (the backpack should be slid upwards to conceal the blue cockpit on it)

I didn't even see it right away. If the omission of the red biceps and tampoed symbols was a trade up for a new head, I'll gladly accept the trade.

The changes to Red Alert's deco are disappointing, but I will still get him. I already bought a second Sideswipe just so I could give Red Alert a shoulder cannon. Now I'll have to buy a second Prowl to give Red Alert a proper bright red light bar. I'll have to figure out something to do with the extra Sideswipe and Prowl figures, though.

red alerts also got less red on his legs (what would be under vehicle mode but front facing in robot mode). They have still kept the unnecassary black near the windshield whicch is one of put offs anyways (like hasbro CW stunticons). Still sticking to the classics for nearly all the carbots this line or waiting for a line that has Earth alts (or actual cybertronian style alts like some of the siege figures have).

Jetfire's rifle looks really nice. He looks nice all over. I was hoping I could swear off the character because of how expensive he is, but I'm probably not going to be able to.
