Fans can take their Transformers figure collections to the next level with Generations Selects, a fan-dedicated line of figures featuring fan-favorite, special edition characters you can’t find in the main line.
This special edition Generations Selects WFC-GS06 Smokescreen figure portrays the classic G1 character with a G1-accurate head sculpt. Figure converts to a Cybertronian alt mode in 14 steps, deco’d to reveal how Smokescreen would have looked on Cybertron. The deco incorporates Cybertronian numbers into his classic exterior.
With this Smokescreen figure, fans can add to their Praxus-native collection. Smokescreen joins Barricade and Prowl (each sold separately, subject to availability) as the third Praxian character designed in his native Cybertronian form.
The Smokescreen figure comes equipped with a W-45 Acid Pellet Blaster accessory and 2 W-50 Volt-Beam Cannon accessories that can mount on his shoulders or the hood of his vehicle mode.

They raise the price slightly after the said before date.

They might need to know how many to "order" from Takara Tomy to make sure there are enough produced to meet demand by their release in late January 2020.

How would they lose money by giving us more time to buy the same things?

I suppose that makes some sense, but in that case, why not start the preorders earlier? It's still a fairly narrow window they're leaving.

I am going to hazard a guess that it will be 3 months between each pair, and we will get 2 in January, 2 in April, and 2 in July

We can't always look at post release availability as proof of normal release numbers. Look at Legends Grand Maximus, we know for a fact that there's less than 3,000 of those in the world and they're still readily available, sometimes at a discount.
Thats another assumption and far from a fact. The only thing we are sure of is that TTMall got less than 3000 orders, and thats it. We dont know if the ones sold outside japan through different distributors (Hasbro asia, usually), count into that, which is why he does seem so plentiful outside of japan. Hence why i was only referring to the japanese market in my example of combiners. Once again, when it comes to numbers, nothing can be assumed.
I'll admit, I completely forgot to factor in Hasbro Asia's release, but that wasn't really the point anyway. They only needed to sell 2,000 to turn a profit on their exclusive and in the end, to cover all of their orders, they sold less than 3,000. Now, that's a bit of an extreme case since it's a big and expensive release, but I bet that's the smallest number of Titans they ever produced by a fairly large margin. I probably shouldn't say they're always produced in smaller numbers, but it has to be more often than not, with the ones that are produced in high numbers being packed with caveats to explain why. Maybe the Seacons are produced in the same numbers world wide as the Terrorcons, but I just can't see it.

They actually did have them up, for a very short period, a day before HP and most of the other online retailers (search back in the thread). Not sure if there was a glitch, but they were only up for maybe an hour. Gulf seemingly sold out incredibly quickly, then the listings were removed. However at least one person here said their pre-order went through.
I imagine in time they will have them again, not sure what the hold up is.

Yeah they went up, but then down. Might be a glitch, or maybe they sold out of their original stock. Not sure, but I am confident they will go back up soon

I know some find the subject taboo
But...
I am wondering if I should
A) buy the Selects versions ASAP
B) buy the beautiful TFC Toys version
C) wait and buy the inevitable 4th party oversized version.

Well, I've heard the TFC Toys Piranacon has trouble holding up his Targetmaster. So the Selects version's definitely going to struggle. Other than that, it's purely price, design, size decisions

I'm hoping we see more soon, mostly because I've always loved Armada Prime's design and Takara's looks to be the best yet. Especially if they create a new Jetfire and Overload.

I'm guessing around the time the first wave of Seacons are released in late January 2020, which happens to line up with Wonder Festival 2020 Winter on Feb 9, 2020. I would like to be wrong and it shows up soon, maybe in a magazine or obscure convention since Star Convoy is due out in late September. But I suspect they're going to get through the Seacons before he's actually released.

I agree its odd. But this is the same company who revealed a fully painted MP Hound and then kept ignoring him for months on end.

At least it won't be like some of the toys from the 4th season of Animated, where we saw some of the thoughts and models, but they never got made because Animated got cancelled. Takara's currently using the Selects line almost as a replacement to the Legends line given the amount of projects they've been making without Hasbro input

On the TTMall site, they are priced at ¥ 4,104 (US$ 38.50), though this info benefits more any japanese fan reading this. The release date from Takara is September 7th, 2019. However, the pre-orders will only be available until the supplies last.
Let us know what you think of these toys!

Nightbird's robot mode looks great, and the vehicle mode looks good too...except that the "female torso on the roof" syndrome the Moonracer/Chromia engineering has is taken to a whole new level here. Like, you have this really slick black wedge car with Nightbird's very womanly chest on the back. That's a shame. Also she needs some ninja weapons. I still kinda want her though.

I really like this Nightbird, much more than the Legends version, but the absolute fortress on her back is still a turnoff for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm intending to get both of them, although I do find it interesting that Zetar looks more black than dark blue now. Also, did they remold the inner structure of his chest? I'm pretty sure Brunt can't do that with his head (I don't have mine on-hand to look).

It looks like his drill just disconnects from the top of his and plugs onto the front of the vehicle mode

...ohhh, yeah, I see it now. I had thought that the head had somehow swapped places with the weapon mode handle, but now I see the face better on the other pictures. My bad.

I preordered both! Zetar is mandatory, of course. I already have what is probably the superior release of Nightbird, the Takara Transformers Legends repaint of Arcee with new head and appropriate ninja weapons (swords, sai, etc.), from a few years back, but, I can't help but like this rendition too. I think part of me just wants to "Catch 'Em All" with the Siege line. There isn't anything I haven't passed up so far.

I just preordered both as well, and it looks like Hasbro is suggesting to use the modular aspect of the Chromia molds' weapons to make a small melee weapon from the grenades and the gun "scope", which they also call a baton now. They show an example in the stock photography.
What interests me is that these two are GS07 and GS08, and Zetar's description confirms that Cromar will be the last Powerdasher released and therefore have a higher number, probably GS09, so GS04 is still missing. It could be Hot Shot I guess, but if that's the case and that's the last figure, it bothers me that the numbers didn't at least go to 10.

Zetar is perfect. He is necessary thanks to Aragon in the siege 3-pack that I want, but he is a great looking standalone too. Well done there.
Nightbird is weaker than her Legends toy a few years ago, but she will do. I never got that one, and i don't actually have Chromia, so at least I will get that mold... even if it will be my 5th of that skeleton basically. she really needed some better/different weapons

Same. I already have the Chromia figure, and I can't really do much with her because every time I move the legs her crotch plate falls off and breaks and needs another layer of glue. Other than the paint and head, this Nightbird figure is exactly the same, and I don't want to have to deal with her losing her crotch plate too. I'm so disappointed. Thankfully I have Generations Chromia to have on my shelf while Siege Chromia can get tossed into storage.
