I'm not even a TFA fan so I don't know the character but still like this mold.

Both schemes are too great to pass up.

As for which version of Lugnut is better; I'd say Hasbro's if you're a fan of the movies and Takara's if you prefer your Classics.

Most of the characters from the Unicron trilogy were originally from G1. And can you imagine what it would be like if there were only original characters in the movies? It'd be only Barricade in the first and The Twins in Revenge of The Fallen. Or are G1 characters the only ones that are allowed to jump around. Jump, jump, jump around!

A cool-looking Barricade for Generations? I'd be cool with that. So long as he doesn't have that creepy movie aesthetic train wreck of a face and design, that will be awesome! Generations/ United is where it's at. Design, aesthetic... awesome! And for the record, Jazz is one of those rarities that looks good on camera, but when you get it in hand... WOW. What an awesome toy! So perfect in all ways, and with some excellent touches as well.

I always wanted a Classics Barricade! (not the Micromaster, obviously >.>) he would make such a great counterpart to prowl!

I'd welcome a Barricade into the CHUG line. He'd be his Earth mode version of the War For Cybertron iteration.
As far as Lugnut goes, I always loved the way he looked for the Hasbro version ever since he was revealed in pics. There's just way too much purple on the United version which loses a realistic, gritty feel that the Hasbro version has in alt-mode. In any case, it's a great mold and I think every fan should own one for their collection.

Since neither the Hasbro nor the Takara one is purple I'll go for which ever will be cheaper for me to import.

My question exactly. I thought that with the initial release of the Battle in Space two-packs in retail, we'd see other Generations/RTS figures. Can't wait until he hits retail.

Well this is the CHUG line, so personally I'd consider basing him on his movie iteration a breech of what Classics set out to be.
However, they could try a "please everyone or no one" approach by making him a police car and having G1 Barricades face and colors in robot mode. That's how I'd do it anyway. If not that (and this is the most likely approach), they'll make him into a ridiculous black and white Formula-1 race car with police lights on the spoiler.
As for Lugnut... The United colors actually look kind of rubbish to me.

There's nothing that says CHUG HAS to be fixed on a certain aesthetic, though. We had Unicron trilogy toys which were repainted as CHUG updates to Micromasters.

It would go some way to explaining the colour choice on Lugnut, too, given Apefaces original colour sceme would leave the two looking too similar.

I'm driving my wife nuts going every week to Toys r Us and Target (I have no faith that Walmart will get them anytime soon if at all since they just resock of the wave 1 Generations all the time) trying to locate the two.
I'm in the same boat. I've been looking from place to place with no luck. I'm going to assume by later this month or early Feb.

Waiting for Hasbro to release him. I need someone to worship my Megatron.
Posted by Jazz-1982 on February 3rd, 2011 @ 8:03am CST
He's been a really popular figure over here as most of the pre-orders for him from the big online Japanese toy stores have sold out. He's the first Generations/United/RTS figure that I've had to buy at retail price.
Is he really considered to be an exclusively animated character? I would have to disagree with that.
read in the TFWicki that the name has been used a lot in the past in Transformers. Well he's not going to be considered to be an animated character in my collection. He's in the Rodimus Cyclonus comic and therefore has graduated out of being just a kids character from animated.
