Unicron has a lot of chrome. He still looks pretty cool, but maybe I can live without him if he doesn't get a Hasbro release.

Those would be the stars of the J-Pop Idol Group Tokyo Girls' Style, they host the Cybertron Satellite segment of the Japanese Prime cartoon. In those segments, they display transformations but above all, show off Arms Micron.

He transforms into the volcano, as he spoke to Megs in the show. Rock Lords anyone? I love love love this thing, but I probably won't shell out for it 'till prices dive.

was the best, this Gaia one is a disappointment it could have much more awsome by making it at least a supreme class and not combine with megs or optimus which i don't understand why
they do combine it makes no sense

Maybe it's a form in which Unicron possesses them?Ultra Markus wrote:i still think the armada unicron + all the repaints and the G1 retool of the same toy

That's the running theory right now.

No. He transforms into his own face. Look at it.
And it will look back.

Well, it's his face on a volcano.

Look again. It's a horned volcano with his face in it. The chrome part represent lava flowing down.RhA wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Where were you when we last saw pics of this toy? He turns into a volcano, okay?Rated X wrote:So he transforms into a pile of dog s**t.

but as lazy as hasbro is it will never happen

The altmode is designed to work with the cyberverse figures. Robot mode is a figure, altmode is a playset. Dual-toyline figure.Ultra Markus wrote:they should have made him a massive cyberverse play-set were you have a large robot form that turns into a base or volcano in this case and have traps and such for the cyberverse figures

The volcano mode is making more and more sense, I even have to give them credit on the lightning bolts thing, but still hasn't sold me on it.
The robot mode might be the only saving grace to it.
The capture mode (makes a lot more sense with that title) still looks ridiculous.
If I ever do buy it, I'll wait for the prices to go to clearance. If at all. It's actually rather hideous.

It looks like it may just be one piece (the head/horns piece), as the weapons must detach from the arms for their gimmick to work.Autobot032 wrote:He just gets worse with each new viewing. Partsformer? Bleh

after looking through all the pictures its designed more for the arms microns not cyberverse
its just way too small of a toy to work with cyberverse and before you say im wrong
show me how you think this has anything to do with cyberverse

Volcano with Unicron's face on it, similar to what happened in the show.
Posted by datguy86 on September 15th, 2012 @ 8:27pm CDT
I like the whole package. The robot mode looks like an Elder God should - he looks enough like the Cybertronians so everyone should be aware of a "familial" similarity (Primus and Unicron being the same type/class of beings, and Cybertronians the descendants of Primus). His altmode of a volcano complete with face is a throwback to the fever-dreams these types of gods inspire among their followers. And finally, the Capture mode - which I take to mean the capture of body and mind, not "I triple change into a net" - makes sense. These types of gods do have a way to ensnare the hearts and minds of lesser beings.

Call me a xenophobe but the ladies look exactly like any other japanese lady that's on tv or whatever. All humans look alike come to think of it
Giant vulcano face bot captures optimus and has no hands. Hmmm, I don't like the massive amount of chrome but I'll get it since it's Unicron.
Why don't they make a full plastic version of that G1 basketball Unicron and sell that, I think a lot of people would buy it. Even if it does look kinda silly from some angles.

I foresee no stateside release, at least not without a heavy retooling/soft rubbery plastic makeover.

They confirmed months ago that they weren't bringing Breakdown or Unicron (or Ironhide, or Jet Vehicon ) stateside. Remember?

I am glad I got mine on pre-order. I am actually starting to get concerned with Hasbro releases, and the new materials they are using for (safety reasons). What has become of the U.S. where we are so obsessed with safety and regulations. I was really surprised when I saw that Voyager Dreadwing has floppy rubber tail wings, and knee caps and even his head is a just a thicker piece of rubber... ... I am glad that this is a Takara only release. If it was a Hasbro release too, we would have a suck ass toy with rubber head/horns, and shoulder horns, with a big ugly safety pamphlet inside saying try not to poke your eye out kid. ...
I know these toys are mainly for kids, but I am pretty sure Japan has kids too. They just give them a little more credit for not being complete dumb asses and stabbing themselves with a fricken toy....lol

I know. I like Unicron the most when he eats stuff. Anyways, I think his chest looks out of place because of his chrome limbs.

Their Dreadwing? Same materials. Look at their promo pics, you can see his one tail fin bending ever so slightly.
Breakdown? Thin plastic and hollow limbs. (Doesn't make him less of a badass though...)
Unicron's probably hard plastic due to the design requirements, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up giving us more and more of what Hasbro would. Rubbery junk and all.

Here in the USA, dumbasses win lawsuits against big companies all the time. Think of all those cigarette smokers that are eat up with cancer from, guess what... SMOKING, that have sued the big tobacco companies for millions for making cigarettes so addictive that they couldn't quit and thus, cancer. Or how about that dumbass woman many years ago that sat her hot cup of coffee from McDonald's between her legs as she drove, spilled it, suffered severe burns down there, and sued McDonald's for an ungodly amount of millions, all because the cup didn't have warning labels on it warning her that contents are hot. It's HOT COFFEE!!! That's how McDonald's serves their coffee, HOT! She's ordered her coffee from them for years and it was always HOT! Yet the dumbass does this move and she gets millions and millions of dollars for being a DUMBASS!!!
This is why toys are now being made with round edges and rubber corners, because these dumbasses are looking for any reason to sue these big companies for millions because they made an unsafe toy without warnings. It's probably just another reason why the prices on our favorite figures keep going up in price.
This opens another door to a previous posting on this site where Transformers 4 would have all new characters because HasTak was dissatisfied with their low toy sales... totally ignoring the pink elephant in the room of too many Bumblebee repaints, too many Optimus Prime repaints, and releasing newer figures too late in the line because they kept adding in another BB repaint or OP repaint instead. So now the prices are going up for Hasbro toys because of lagging toy sales. Did you see the recent price hike just on Deluxe Transformers? It was like a $2.50 price increase. Or if you follow the Star Wars action figure line, basic action figures are now $9.96. I remember when Star Wars action figures were $4.00. Granted, they had limited posability back then, but still, they were $4.00.
So really? Jack the price up, making the figure even more unaffordable even when the figure wasn't selling when it was a few dollars cheaper. Just how big is the committee of overpaid decision makers at Hasbro that came up with this lack-of-commonsense decision? You're already making the Deluxe Transformers figures cheaper and smaller, yet you keep jacking up the price and selling us yet another BB repaint. Stop the BS and FIND some commonsense.
