I'm pretty sure I can't...
So, all you folks looking to kill me, just snatch up my reserved Alpha Trion. Like a silver bullet or wooden stake to my heart...
(yes, I'm a vampire werewolf.)

My only hope is that the Botcon folk will soon run out of Sunbow incidental characters and maybe start on the Marvel ones, and I can finally get my Goddamn Straxus/Scrounge/Impactor/Xaaron/Jhiaxus/ANYONE toy.

Really now?
How about you back that up a little?
How exactly does this toy and incarnation of Alpha Trion a 'shame to his name'?

It looks like a fan-made kitbash, but for a Hasbro product, it could have been better. A little modification to the planet key to be the Vector Sigma key, and a remold to the head ho have a beard... Just like the Orion Pax-Dion repaint: a bit better mold, and it would be good.
(Oh well, I hate cheap repaints, but as the Hasbro showed what they could do - the Classic Starscream-Ramjet-Thrust remolds were simply perfect- this is just a cheap trick from them.)
A perfect incarnation would be a Revoltech version of Alpha Trion, since he couldn't transform (or at least it wasn't shown)

However, I have been waiting for about a quarter century for an Alpha Trion/A3. So I'm psyched to get this one.
I'm not sure what I would do with the mini-con though. I think he will end up getting banished to a zip lock baggy inside on of my attic bins.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him. In fact, when I saw he might be one of the attendee exclusives, I was waaaayyy angrier about that than any of the Seekers. Thrust, Dirge and Thundercracker are cool, but Alpha Trion (cartoon-wise) single handedly shifted the balance of the war on more than one occasion. He's one of the most important characters, and has been on my wishlist forever.
BUT, seeing him with that weird gold chestplate/key/thing makes me wish I'd gotten one of those first 20 that walked out on 'lunchbreak discount'. The head sculpt is amazing, but he suddenly seems...less. I'd be really bummed out if that chest plate is permanently affixed.

He's Vector Prime: tick.
He's purple: tick.

Air Commander Starscream wrote:Very impressive. It's amazing how much a different paint job and head can change a figure so drastically. I totally see Alpha Trion in that, like the figure was emant to be that and not Vector Prime.
They are similar characters, anyway. It's the same as one looking at the Galaxy Force gold repaint and reaching the conclusion that Vector Prime was meant to be the Last Autobot from the Marvel Comics. The parallels are easy to draw, given that they were both older TF's from a time long since past. Even their mannerisms were, in a way, similar (from what little I saw of Cybertron).

You don't own Vector Prime, do you?
Look at his alt mode pictures. Aside from the fact that I can tell you the 'gold piece', his key comes out, you can clearly see that it is not permenently fixed to the figure.
