New Images of Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Swerve

Is it inevitable that Human Alliance Sideswipe will be repainted to HA Swerve??

I'm really liking the head sculpt and repaint. I'll be picking it up as soon as I see one in the local stores.

originally i was gonna hold off on getting the original sideswipe and planned on getting this instead. but after seeing these images... idk

i dont like it as much as i thought.

I'm probably gonna get the repaints my brother doesn't want, so definately a "get" for me.

Makes me wish I weren't broke.

I wish that when they did redecos they would at least include a new weapon or make it enough of a redesign that it would warrant a purchase. For me a new head sculpt and being red doesn't warrant a purchase. If he where red had the new head and maybe a new chest piece and some kind of weapon added on I would buy him.. but I am not getting him or Dead end for that reason. Now if I had money to throw away then it would be another story.

I really have to think about whether or not I'll get him. Looks nice though.

They could repaint that figure puke green and it would still look amazing

Having him sitting right behind me on my shelf, I should note the new head causes ONE problem not found on the original. The chin is so long it prevents a lot of side to side movement.

HOWEVER, it is still an awesome figure and an outstanding paint job. If I HAD to choose only one between Sideswipe and Swerve (thank gawd I don't), it'd be Swerve.

I got Sideswipe, but i decided that the mold was utter awesomeness. Therefore it justified buying the repaint.

I was worried that the red might come off looking worse as more photos came out, but I was thankfully wrong. I really like the Sideswipe mold, so I will very likely purchase this guy on sight. It doesn't hurt that he is a Corvette either, sexiest family of cars to ever hit the planet Earth.

I've never really liked the head mold too much, but what really bugs me is the yellow tail-lights. I realize it's for the sake of contrast, but a different shade of red would've looked way better and more realistic.

Still, I will probably pick this up because I want a "Sideswipe" I can display with my other Sideswipes.

I don't like the head sculpt - I prefer Sideswipe's. The yellow tailights - ugh... I can't help but think this is what 'Swipe should look like - not silver. This may push me to attempt my first ever mod - maybe throw a bright metallic red on 'Swipe to give some G1 flavor, while keeping with 'Swipe's new headsculpt. If all goes well, a new Red Alert won't be far behind.

I can't wait to get this guy. Pure awesome. I love it.

The more I look at the pics, the more I'm liking Swerve. One big bonus for me is that the paint apps in robot mode are more varied than in Sideswipe, which my little brother has.

RotF Deluxe Sideswipe's arms and torso are the base plastic colours. Its legs are the same except for a section of the upper thighs. From what I can make out, Swerve has painted upper arms, forearm sections, torso, the mech alive knee plate sliders, and upper thigh plates. The black on the legs and arms are base plastic but it has a dull sheen that reins in the shiny red paint of the car parts. My one criticism is that the forelegs are in a base plastic dull grey, which throws the otherwise cohesive visual texture of the robot mode. However, it's a relatively minor issue compared to the other things that RotF seems to do right in terms of paint apps. Once I get one, I'll just paint the forelegs to a silver to match the knee plates.

Is Sunstreaker actually a possibility? If he isn't, it could be a long wait. If there is a Sunstreaker repaint, I will certainly pick that up. I think the yellow might look pretty amazing on this mold.

come to think of it, a repaint of sunstreaker is something hasbro would do

I saw swerve about 2 weeks ago at Target but passed because the plastic looked to have deep gouges in the roof.

I picked him up today at Target, and it is a great figure imo. I held off on getting Sideswipe because I like the red paint over silver paint. I think this is a better then the Sideways / Dead End variation.
