Hasbro posted some new photos of their upcoming RED Bumblebee and Starscream. These are images of the actual product rather than the renders we saw the other day so they give you a better idea of the deco. We see that Starscream's coronation getup is entirely removeable as well.
What do you think of these figures? Will you be picking these up? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

My Bee display dosen't care about scale. So I'll be getting that Bee for sure if I see it at my local Walmart. As for that Starscream, it's an easy pass. I have plenty of Screamers that look like that.

Just wait till Kingdom Core Megatron, he comes with a Megatron in gun mode and will be cheaper than this RED Starscream.

Really? So Megatron will be... playing with himself?
That so ridiculous and cool at the same time, Core Megs will be a sure buy for me!

If you have it, the gun-mode Megatron that comes with the Centurion Drone w/ weapons pack fits in CC’s hand, I’ve tried it before and although I’m not using it right now it looks amazing. ;)

It doesn't have the stock and looks far too blocky. They did a gun megs for the SDCC Joe/TF crossover Starscream that looks fantastic, I know these are smaller than 1/12 scale but I figured a gun Megs in this size would've worked.

I already have an Actionmaster Bumblebee. He's hanging from my Christmas tree.

It's like Hasbro is hellbent on saving me money. They release toy after toy that I have no interest in, and if there's any chance I might want something, they don't ship it to a store anywhere within 500 miles of me. Not sure if I should say "thanks" or "screw them." :-x

Good point, but I'm wondering if they tried to do any "scaling" at all...

They didn't because that's not what this line is about. It's about giving you 6 inch non transforming figures of Transformers characters.

I get the overall premise of the line, however, it wouldn't exactly be shocking if they still charged $20 for R.E.D. figures that were only 4 inches tall.
It's going to look really odd for anyone who has a Bumblebee who is the same height as Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, etc.

Happening right now in the cyberverse line.

Plus, 4 inch BB in RED would still be way too big to scale with Prime.

Totally, but my point was that I could see them making smaller RED figures (although scale wouldn't be accurate) and still charging $20/per.

Maybe they will extend RED to have bigger figures like Marvel Legends thanos/power rangers monsters etc (which might be where metroplex or gestalts would come in) and if they do that then maybe GI joe classified can get some brutes too (not sure I'd want to spend £30 per gi joe extreme chararter but SGT savage would be a must).

kinda sucks having to buy faction stickers to put on official toys but at least arcee looks like she has room for one. Some inhand photos posted on tfw

The next two figures out in the Transforemrs RED series are Cheetor and Prime Arcee and Prime vs Prime has a review of these two. As you will see from the comparison shots (you can also see screencaps below), there is no attempt at any kind to scale. This is a uniform 6 inch action figure line and that's about it. While the Arcee looks great, the Cheetor leaves a lot to be desired especially with the face. We'll let you all be the judge of that of course, let us know what you think.

Re: New Images of RED Bumblebee and Starscream from Hasbro (2092306)

And Cheetor's expression...I guess he made that particular face a few times on the show, but a happy, open-mouthed expression would be more appropriate for his character. It kind of looks like his helmet is painfully squishing it, or he's an evil relative of King Zarkon in disguise. Not feeling it, and I could see it shelfwarming bad enough to hurt the prospects of future non-transforming BW figures.

But Action Master Prime Arcee is a big red F-YEAH!
Re: New Images of RED Bumblebee and Starscream from Hasbro (2092332)
Posted by blackeyedprime on January 11th, 2021 @ 6:07am CST
Definitely going for this over Kingdoms. I like how the back piece can be removed so that I can mod it to be set a bit lower. I might even snip the pylon things down a bit too, can't change the face but th easier to do than give Kingdoms/Netflix Cheetor a new everything. He should go okay next to MP Primal too as I'm skipping on Kingdoms Primal until a Burning repaint.

The scale on Arcee is more of a pain but I need a Prime Arcee and it might as well be her though I still might go for one of the old figures at some point too. RED Knockouts a likely purchase as the orig figure is a bit off looking.

They really did not get Cheetor's colors right at all.

Arcee looks good, but again, they didn't get the colors right on her. pretty disappointed by that

I truly think those two are the only ones that are worth of getting from R.E.D.
Are they still store exclusive like OP, Megs and Soundwave?

But I figure if it can work well somehow then I would pick up RED Megs just for that! :VEHI:

So it looks like Super7 are doing articulated transformers figures in the 7" scale. Pretty much everything RED should've been.

Don't be so sure. I took a look at the teaser image, and their TMNT offering and... not impressed with "highly articulated".

Shouldn't Super7s transform if they really want to be Ultimates? For £50-60 a pop they are going to have to be special and then some. The Thundertank is already the price of more batmobiles than I could fit on a table so I can't see them going the action master route nor people willing to pay the price for them when RED gets looked down on as is.

Hoping RED gets a Dinobot with Kingdoms alt mode being a bit arse.

It's the same company that charges 20 pounds for a tiny figure with 70's articulation. So if you didn't find that worth it, no reason you'd change your mind with the new products.
Re: New Images of RED Bumblebee and Starscream from Hasbro (2093938)

It's a shame because RED could easily have gone for the action masters with partners route for under £30. I'm not finding the ultimates anything special, I might pick up an occasional TMNT figure (considering muckman or mutagen man at some point) for £50 but it aint going to be the same for their tfs.

There are a bunch of different combinations of size, price point, level of detail, and brand. You can get a 6" Marvel figure for $20 from Hasbro or for $100 from Mexico. You can get a 12" of the same for $10 from Hasbro or for $300 from Hot Toys. There are so many different factors that go into these different product classes that I don't see why Transformers should be any different.

Additionally, though many collectors are fans of an IP franchise first, others collect product brands. I think that's part of the appeal of ubiquitous brands like ReAction and Funko Pop. If you already have Turtles and Thundercats Ultimates, you might want to add a Prime to that shelf.

I get the appeal of some of these. Like, if I didn't already have MP Optimus and Megatron, or ER Optimus and Megatron with the accessories pack, it might be nice to have the R.E.D. versions to stage the battle over the dam. As it is, I like having a ReAction Alpha Trion because it's more faithful to the cartoon than any other representation. I'm not sure if these will last long enough or cover territory that's missing in Generations, but I think there's room for lots of different takes on these characters.

The difference is that RED is trying to go for mainstream appeal. By contrast, the Action Master-original characters are anything but mainstream.

Sightings have been spotty but over the past week or so, more and more are finding the latest toys from the RED series. RED Cheetor and Prime Arcee have been found at Walmarts in the US and Canada where they are just shy of $20 USD and $30 CDN. The Canadian sighting comes from Cybertron.ca and the US sighting was originally reported by Megagalvatron1 who posted the image you'll see below on the TFW2005 boards.

If you find these toys, let fellow fans know in our sightings board.

I was actually quite shocked to see Cheetor today at Walmart (they were randomly in another section, but I put them back with the Transformers, even though they didn't have a dedicated peg). There was also Optimus & Megatron, I guess with only 2 new bots, they may be repacking parts of wave 1 also. Wave 1 I only saw a couple times. It may be a good/bad thing. Even though the quality of these toys isn't great, I guess the low production run of each will meet the smaller demand, so its not like these hang around for months not selling.

While I personally have no interest in these RED figures, I'm popping in to this thread to let those of you who are interested know that Hasbro Pulse just added a Partner Exclusives page where they are now offering the first wave of RED figures in limited quantities, in case that is a better option for anyone than their nearest Walmart that may or may not be carrying them.

This also gives major credibility to the big leak we have with the SG repaints/Rexy crossover/etc, but that's a discussion for elsewhere.

Came in to do the exact same thing. We'll just have to wait in see if other exclusives (I'm looking at you Thrust) appear or if only new runs of exclusives are getting this treatment.

The Pulse Partner Exclusives section now has Wave 2 of the R.E.D. series. Cheetor is currently sold out. I got the Arcee figure but I was disappointed with it, as the figure design limits the articulation. Still, glad it was the one that I chose to get, unless they reissue one of the Prime figures at some point.

Found an Arcee at Walmart, decided to give her a go and show people want Prime figures. I went into the experience trying to be positive despite universal negative reactions to RED.

Unfortunately, that rang true for Arcee.

First off, the materials are absolute crap. What kind of plastic is this? None of my Marvel Legends or Black Series or Plasma Series figures feel like this, it's rubbish! It is so soft and bendy and the joints are either loose or feel like they are going to bend like a twist tie when i try to articulate her.

And speaking of articulation, who the hell approved these figures with only single joint 90 degree elbows and knees? for this line, double jointed elbows and knees should have been a requirement.

Lastly, they dropped the ball on the colors and paint apps. The pink and lack of any color on the weapons or effects part suck hard.

In short, Arcee will be my only RED. Hasbro should scrap this line, it is absolute garbage and will ultimately only take up space on the ever shrinking Walmart TF displays.

Kinda looking forward to refomatting Megatron and the Galvatron with Kingdoms being a mess (and if a figure isnt going to have all its modes, then it lacking the ability to transform isnt as bad).

Prime Megatron and Prime Prime may be tempting too but I think scale that shouldnt bug me, would bug me.

shockwaves probably a pass but it will likely look nicer than the siege figure.

We have news that Transformers RED Series wave 3 has been found at Canadian retail. TF Fan Team jetfire found them at a Walmart in Alberta. They were priced just shy of $30 CAD. The new toys in this wave are Coronation Starscream and G1 Bumblebee.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

This sighting was originally posted here, on the Cybertron.ca boards.

Thanks to Nemesis Primal, we know that IGN just revealed RED Optimus Primal and Reformatting Megatron. Pulse & Walmart preorders go up on Friday: https://www.ign.com/articles/new-transf ... lector-con.

Both figures come in at 6-inches tall and are non-converting, as is the case with the R.E.D. line. By going R.E.D., Hasbro opted to "bring collectors the most screen-accurate versions of their favorite characters" for Primal and Megatron.

Where to Preorder the New Transformers R.E.D. Figures on July 23
Transformers R.E.D. Optimus Primal - 22,99 $US
Transformers R.E.D. Reformatting Megatron - 22,99 $US
Optimus Primal has 30 points of articulation and detailed paint, coming in at 74 deco ops. While not convertible, Primal does have a pair of blasters tucked away under his forearms, which is nice.

Megatron has 23 points of articulation and is modeled and decoed after the scene in the 1986 Transformers Movie "midway through his rebirth into the immensely powerful and menacing Galvatron." Megatron comes with Fusion cannon and includes 4 changeable hands holding Energon accessories.

Haven't bought any of those R.E.D figures but damn if Megs and Primal aren't tempting me. I like the reformatting translucent purple.
and Primal just looks awesome. Very close to Kingdom interestingly enough.

I don't have any interest in BW anything...
I'm okay with the look of Megatron, but if he's reformatting, how is he doing anything else??
Again, only if it ever goes on sale...

After seeing the mess they made of Cheetor, I had no intention of getting any R.E.D figures, but that Optimus Primal! Granted there's little point when the Kingdom figure exists, but this fella's going straight into my Optimus Primal shrine.

The Megatron's good, too. Better this than another Siege Voyager Megatron with some purple bits and a REALLY badly deco'd tank.
