Resident Malaysian and Energon Pub member TCracker has gotten his hands on a Power Core Combiner from the First Wave. It's Huffer with Caliburst and that's right, it's the first time Huffer gets a retail toy since Generation One! TCracker shows off Huffer in Robot mode, vehicle mode, along with Caliburst and his Power-Up Mode! Check out the images, including pictures of the instructions below!

You'll find TCracker's original post over at Energon Pub Forums! These toys are set for release in August, you can pre-order Huffer along with the rest of Wave One or Individually.

The more I see of these Power Core Combiners the more I want them. This is looking better and better with every one I see. Also, with some clever paint application, that Huffer could pass with a Movie Prime paint job. THEN he'll be in scale with Bonecrusher and Blackout!

EDIT: Actually, looking at him, and the head for the combined form, he'd make a better repaint as Motormaster! That would be awesome! Woefully small, but awesome!

Hmmmm...while I like the idea kinda, it's not movie-ish enough and it's too out of scale, will be passing these....but they still are cool.

I have been looking forward to this figure pretty much just to get a classics Huffer, I will probably still get it, but it looking disappointing. Paint apps will help, but I am surprised with the lack of feet, I had hoped it was just camera angle and mistransformation in earlier pics, but it seems PCC Huffer shops in the same shoe store as G1 Astrotrain.

I doubt I will ever get any limbs, so the bright blue plugs will get painted over or cut off, and that translucent minicon will either be painted black and gunmetal or retired altogether.

From the colour-mapping to the visor/shades, this is pure G1 Huffer. Add an epic little mini-con and I'm more than sold.

Plus, that combiner head is chin-tastic!

While I consider these PCC to be bought on sight, there is one problem that continues to vex me. Where exactly do these guys fit in? Classics/Generations? Movieverse? Or something new and separate altogether?
As it is I have no idea what shelf to make room on for them. :???:

I really like the look of this guy, but I'm not crazy about seeing so much of his head in combined mode. They couldn't attempt to hide it at all? :-?

This was the only PCC I was planning on getting to throw in with my Classics and still definitely getting him.

Huffer, Drift and Thrust are the only planed purchases for me of the new releases we've seen.
Not including aftermaret companies. Got enough pre orders from FP and PE to keep me broke for a while.

Still dont know what to make of these guys. It seems like they look awesome in other pics and meh in other pics... Well, i would rather see them in hand and go from there. I think i'll only be picking up two, and thats Huffer and Icepick, then thats it for me, need to save money for re-issues..

Given that Caliburst transforms into his chest piece, I believe that his robot mode head will be hidden nicely from view.

His power-up head looks somehow Menasor-ish... with a smile? So Huffer's power-up mode has a reversed personality?

Hmmm... seems only his right arm can hold Caliburst. No biggie.

Haha hopefully I'll have a new camera by then. I wouldn't mind sacrificing the original chest and minicon to have them display seperately. Now to organize this custom list.

Hoist is being used with ROTF Hoist, Tow Line is being used by Energon Landquake...I like Hauler though.

I still don't know what everyone sees in this line it looks to be more geared toward the kids rather than collectors but that's just. I like Huffer though I don't care for the vehicle mode again it looks too kiddish for my taste though I'll still get Huffer but I'd rather wait and see what Takara dishes out for us if they do that is.

NEWFLASH: TRANSFORMERS AIMED TOWARDS CHILDREN, RUINS TRANSFORMERS FOREVER SINCE 1984

I also like these. I want these. Especially Smoulder. I hope he appears in animated media voiced by Dennis Bateman. This would complete the deal for me.

I'd better have a job by the time these are out, it's looking hard to chose.

Smolder's combiner head mold is the only head of any figure from PCC that looks half way decent. Huffer's combiner head mold is laughable.

I really like what we're being shown with these PCCs. I also like that they released a new Huffer toy, but he reminds me of Machine Wars Hubcap more than anything...

Yeah, I understand that but it seems after every couple series of Transformers the toys seem to become worse and that's why I said they're kiddish. I mean come on it's 2010 now they should be able to do way better than this.

For whatever reason my follow up to this never posted. The last sentence really pertains to the PCC line in general. I wasn't clear there. Also, shhhh Takara will hear you. Although, for THESE Mini-Cons, I might actually buy into that.

On a side note though, I realized I really like the placement of the underarm gun - it's reminiscent of the G1 toy with its (albeit reversed) smokestack arms.

The other ones are nice too, especially Searchlight =o

Here are some pics I took comparing PCCs with other figures.
Hope they answer some questions....

Here is smolder exchanging axes with Botcon Fallback.

Chopster in gun mode attached to the Minicon port on Armada Deluxe Optimus Prime.

Smoulder holding Over-Run in gun mode.

Armada Deluxe Optimus Prime holding Chopster. (Hopefully Chopster can be used with WFC Optimus too, so he will have an axe.)

As you can see, PCC Minicons are compatible with other figures and PCC Bots can hold other weapons without problem.
The only incompatible part is with the Energon combiners.

Here is a size comparison with TFCC Heatwave. Heatwave, being a Deluxe figure, is larger than the PCC torso bot.

The combination ports are also of different shape. Heatwave's are octagonal in shape, whereas PCC combiner ports are squarish.

Here is a size comparison with TFCC Terradive, who transforms into one of the limbs. Clearly, he is too large to be paired up with Huffer. Even if they could combine, it wouldn't look good anyway.

This really makes the PCC line make sense. Huffer and Searchlight, sick of being two of the smallest Autobots go and fashion some earth vehicles into limbs, steal some Minicons and change Alt modes, and now they're the same height as the other 'Bots. PCC limbs: Elevator shoes for Minibots and Throttlebots.
