looks like it's a good think I never got any of the previous MP Optimus molds... This is the one to have, most definitely! Although I still don't fancy that price much.

I wonder if they'll improve on Megatron too!

which prime to get! takara's jaetpack or this one! though i will probably go with the jetpack one because i love primes that can fly and as i said recently i did not grow up with g1 or beast wars. i still love both g1 and beast wars more than the movies could ever make me but i still like movie asthetics better.

My only question is, if his alt mode has no doors, how does Spike fit into the cab?

Lookin sweet - but can this now be IT for G1 Primes......I wont need another after this hefty kick in the bank-account.

Im surprised no one commented yet but.... Why is the autobot logo in the middle of the trailer? Unless the fix that, im not buyin it.... not like i need another prime

ea the autobot symbol in the middle kinda bothers me. and im sure you have to put spike in through the chest opening.

It looks beautiful but the shoulder articulation is poor.

Vehicle mode is where this Masterpiece shines for me. Unfortunately I rarely display my transformers in alt mode. Bot mode is slightly chubby. The arms are overly long looking and I don't like the head. Does anyone else get the feeling it transforms extremely similar to MP01?

I might wait and see what Hasbro gives us on this one. MP09 has made me wary of early adopting Masterpiece toys.

I'm sooooo happy with this guy. I've got the original MP-01, but this guy is much more accurate to season 2. If Hasbro ever releases this guy, he will be mine! I'm also hopefull for a new megatron!

That gun does look a little pathetic. I too never bought a MasterPiece Optimus. Still not sure which to go for.

Hate to say it but this mold is growing on me a lot. However, the small gun and odd logo placement on the trailer is a bit off-putting and the price tag is just too steep IMO. I'm definitely going to wait and see what the in-hand reviews are like and what Hasbro does with it.

Shouldn't the front wheels be closer to the bumper? I don't recall any red body portion between the wheels and bumper. Looks pretty great tho.

I'm still debating whether to get or not. MP10 bot can't top over MP1 bot. Indeed the short gun is pathetic, they should've add another sliding down barrel. I can deal with the logo being at the center, but the proportion of the lower leg and arm bother me a lot. I want to see more side view of leg kibble.

So...in the spirit of posts regarding new toys as of late, I feel compelled to continue the tradition:

This is a worthless piece of junk! I can't believe Takara decided to release this crap. What were they thinking? It is soooo bad that I am completely offended by the fact that it even exists. Heck, my WST Optimus is more cartoon accurate than this thing. They would have to PAY me to display this on my shelf. This makes Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime look like a brick of gold. And why didn't they put a little motor in roller so that he can roll around on his own? The least they could have done is added working LEDs and a R2-D2 beep sound effect. Soooo pathetic. And don't even get me started on the paint job. My 1.5 year old could have done a better job.

Haha actually these posts are not that bad, but lately things seem to be unrealistically negative. I am definitely getting this guy.

I am glad I sold my 20th Optimus Prime. This looks to be the best one yet!

I'm glad to say I feel no compulsion to buy this figure. I'm happy enough with MP-04

That's because they where going for a toon accurate bot-mode, with extra detailing.

But man I love this version so much more than the original, just think about displaying this next to MP01 and THS02!
Also, these pix look like high res versions of the first ones we got from that magazine.

He's cool looking, but I already have the other one. I wish hasbro would just release the trailer, Spike and Roller over here. I'd buy that.

If the only thing putting people off is the Autobot symbol on the trailer sides, I'm fairly sure Reprolabels will have you all covered not long after it gets released.

It's growing on me, but I'm still not convinced that it's worth that much. But then, I couldn't afford MP-09 Rodimus either.

I'm pretty convinced that Hasbro will be bringing this guy over too, minus the trailer, just like with Rodimus, so that's probably the version I'll get. Hopefully that also means he'll have a nice bonus like Rodimus's Targetmaster. Maybe Roller as a Targetmaster? Either way, it's looking very nice. Hopefully the Masterpiece line continues with this smaller scale since Rodimus, MP-10 Optimus, the seekers (although the molds could be a bit better) and Grimlock (although he's a bit too small to be in scale with the rest), or rather, adjust scale appropriately with Optimus and Rodimus as the standard or the figures they look to for scale.

Looks amazing, I'll probably end up getting this. If I do, this will be my playtime Prime, while 20th Prime may go on display. Looks like this one will be in better scale with Classics toys and MP Seekers. Plus, I kind of like the idea of an Optimus that is smaller than Megatron (ala Animated).

Right...all the early G1 alt modes looked good and realistic. But guess which mode was highly compromised to accommodate all those great alt modes?

There's almost always a sacrifie. But I'll always lean towards a badass robot mode cuz alt modes almost never re-emerge in my collection. Though I have to say that TF United Jazz is a prime example (pun unintended) of perfection in both modes.

Leetle baybeh gunz! Nah, this MP still looks awesome to me. The old MP Prime may have been more "show accurate" but visually it just looked like to much of a big ugly block to me. This is more up my ally, and it wont be gigantic and out of scale to boot.

Just wish the slagging US releases would stop leaving stuff out! These are meant for collectors anyway! Why cut stuff out so the kiddies can afford it with their allowance money?

Awesome looking Optimus but...I already have ROTF Prime and IMO that's already a definitive looking Prime so...Definitely not gonna buy him.

I still don't like the robot mode fake grill of this one. I'll stick to my original MP Convoy.
