Thanks to this update we now know the differences between this and the original Masterpiece Grimlock:
-This version comes only with the gold chromed crown, sword and blaster both of which have different colors than the first release.
-The black body parts are now blue to let him look more like his depiction in the Marvel comics
-His dinosaur parts are now silver
-And of course the new comic-style box

Would be nice to have one to keep MIB-the packaging is great. However, If I really feel like I need a crown, I'll get the iGear set.

the reason being.. It's Grimock, and he is also the 1st truly Marvel comic transformers devoted Homage that reference the comic material and is historic in that respect..
so regardless of whether you Love this piece or hate it..the historic nature of what this masterpiece represents in a homage is undeniable.. and to those who are 80's enthusiasts, this piece is pure Gold!!
I would love to get my hands on one..
marvel comic transformers were highly sought after during the 80's when the craze took the nation by storm, and King Grimlock was a huge fan favorite..

That killed it for me. May get it if I find it cheaper.

I'm pretty puzzled...to the best of my knowledge the Marvel comics haven't been officially translated into Japanese...

You won't find it cheaper as that is the only place you will find it as it's exclusive to it.
