It looks like a Bakugan, my son's favorite overpriced toy.

There had best be some quality redecos here to justify this.

G2 Colors maybe?

"1984-1991 G1 The ORIGINAL!" and the slider goes through time up until now.
I have a feeling we may see a lot more of G1 revisited. If they continue to make them like Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, Ironhide/Ratchet, and Brawn...I will be drawn back in.
This time...they got G1 and Classics right.

All the time. Everytime I see an ad or a snippet of the show, or a toy on a shelf I just chuckle to myself in glee that TFs did that a long time ago

I was thinking the same thing. Swindle should be the tank and Blast-Off should be the chopper. Although, the name Blast-Off doesn't really fit a helicopter either. Oh, well. I'm still looking forward to Universe Bruticus!

If this is for Universe 2.0
Then what is the point of making a new Onslaught figure when they decided to reissue the Energon Combaticons, especially considering they aren't changing the name of the main robot for the combiner.
Also, since we're getting legends Brawn, Beachcomber and Jazz, does this mean we won't end up seeing a Classics Brawn, or Jazz(I couldn't really care about Beachcomber)

Personally I'd been hoping they'd introduce Deluxe figures specially designed to latch onto figs like Onslaught & Silverbolt, and could include hands, head, etc. A piece with each, like collecting all the Transmutate pieces, or one of the Marvel extra bits. Alas, too good of an idea to be used...again. I gotta stop thinking or something.

Yes, I'd like an answer to that too.
They are 5 robots that form 1 bigger one. if that's not a combiner I don't know what is.
And Swindle is a Tank.

take a look at the pic again... they have swindle as a helicopter and blastoff as a tank. really hoping it's an error in the manual... whoever said it earlier, i agree with that the original energon combaticons were very close to the original combaticons with the exception of the one orange helicopter limb so it's odd why they'd repaint him.

I think he means that, Hasbro took the cheap way out, the same complaint we heard about the energon Combiners when they first arrived, 5 Transformers, 3 Unique molds.
Essentially that two of the limbs are the same mold just different colors.
Personally I would have preferred to spend a little bit extra buying 5 unique transformers that combine into one, than spend a bit less on 5 transformers, two of which being repaints.
But thats just me.
But I think thats what WJ35 meant by not real combiners.
I don't plan on getting the figures anyway just because I never much cared for those molds, but my only complaint about this combiner is that Hasbro should have designed some new hands and feet for the guy, made it look a bit nicer.

Obviously a Misprint, the names are switched. Swindle will be the Tank.

I need a new combiner to go with my Classics Devastator, hes getting lonely standing in the corner of the shelf behind the other decepticons.

I happen to agree. 2 other unique molds would have been better than just repaints.
Heck I'm sure they could have retooled a tank and a chopper into a jeep and a Shuttle with minor effort.

Again I agree. Better looking hands and feet as I said before in another post would have made this set a whole lot better.

Yizhi is trust worthy, I’m sure. He gets stuff like this all of the time and I’m pretty sure this is legit.
I really don’t understand why people are upset here. It’s probably just going to be a store-exclusive, how’s it hurting you guys? And no, to whomever reading this, don’t rush for that quote button to cry “it ruins our chances of a REAL one!”. That was the biggest complaint I saw for Universe Blaster and Classics Devastator, but in this case, the “chances” were ruined by a new mold already.
It’s like there’s this concept that repaints take the place of a new mold. They don’t.

Hehehe.... I'm actually gonna buy this if its a boxset and I too wish they had done something about the hands and feet. Hope it looks good

Let it be known around the boards that I am an official Legends JUNKIE.
Beachcomber and Brawn only make me want Bumblebee, Cosmos, Wheelie, Rodimus and sweet, sweet Warpath even more.

I was just looking at the picture again and I realized that the robots are numbered (01,02,03,04,05). If this is anything like what I think it means then these guys might be separately packaged.
If that's true first I shall weep (about having to track them all down), and then I shall go break some Hasbro faces.

robofreak wrote:Hasbro said a long time ago that when they first started designing the combiners that they only had enough money in the budget for 9-10 molds. They could have either made 2 combiners with 5 distinct bots or 3 with repainted limbs. I'm glad they chose the latter. The repainted limbs don't bother me. I just wish I was able to find Blackout, Windrazor, and Terradive.
And it's thinking like this that gives us crappy molds and repaints.
It should always be quality over quantity.
Don't get me wrong, I own all three Energon combiners, they were as close to the real deal as we were going to get, but seriously, they could've been better.
I won't be buying the repaint (didn't buy the Devestator one either...) but hopefully this will give everyone a chance to get their hands on a full set.

Quick question for anyone—what's the difference between the 25th Anniversary line and Universe? Price differences? Are they exclusives? I was thinking about picking up 25th Anniversary Dragstrip when he's available.

From a financial standpoint, if I was on the Hasbro board I would've made the same decision. I'm glad they were considerate enough to get us 3 combiners.

It's really all the same line, honestly. Some packages will bear the 25th. Anniversary marking, because 2009 is the 25th, anniversary, and those figures will be released during 2009.
But, they're all a part of the Universe line, with no price increase. (other than the Hasbro ordered 5%)
