This does not have my aproval.

It's a KO that's going to sell for top dollar plus!

Now I'm saying, a VINTAGE StarConvoy use to run about $500, the recent reissue topped off at $100.

The reissue is not vintage, but exact. Since it's a newer official release, like Galvatron, it went for a more reasonable rate.

These KOs are not official, have questionable materials and are demanding vintage prices. This is not fair to anyone.

I can se if these where being sold for a reasonable amount, a collector who wants a double for play or a novice who'd like to experience the figure can take alot from a quality KO.

But these are being sold as TRANSFORMERS, and being sold with vintage prices. Neither of these statments are true, which is why I do not suport these.

Again, I understand if you want to experience the figure, but to do so at the rates they're asking for these KOs is a cheat to you!

False : the reissue has silver where the original had white. And some gold chrome where there was yellow.

:)

At most. But we know that won't happen.

At least it'll be easy to recognize him on the loose market. There's not a bit of chrome on the bugger.

I have to admit, that box has caught my attention. If for nothing else, I'd get this for the box. My REAL G1 Metroplex is all naked w/o box. You have to admit, this is a nice substitute if you don't want to blow big bucks on a G1 Metroplex.

Not really. Sounds about right for a knock off made from a knock off factory without regulations. If it was Takara/Hasbro, fine, but it's not.

No point in arguing with me.

But the mold was sit exact, made of good quality, and official.

These KOs are no different from me learning how to cast mold and dropping them in a box with "TRANSFORMERS" writen on it with a sharpie.

Yep, that would be worthless, and so are these!

As for a reasonable price being around $30-$40. That is fair to me, hell the recent motorized Dai Atlas reissue went for only $25, so why not this.

Give in to a gauge and they'll push the blade deeper, fight it and you may have a chance!

Well to them all I can say is enjoy expesive shelf clutter.

As I've said, if this was to go for a realistic KO price, that would be one thing. But recent Kos are being passed for vintage, and to me thats a rip off to the buyer, and a short change to a respecatble collection.

I myself have G1 Metroplex boxed, and am longing to play with him, but not willing to detriment him. A quality KO at a fair KO price would be a nice interactive piece.

But again, for the price these are starting at, I'd rather have a loose G1 to enjoy in all his unaltered, uncheapened glory than a subpar QC questionable knock off(realy yoou can get one for about $60 on average).

To those who suport these as a viable resort, you are not TRANSFORMER collectors, as you have no TRANSFORMERS in your collection.

I don't collect as an investment, and I just wanna state that as I say, enjoy smiling at your valueless clutter, while I take pride in my noteworthy collection!

As much as internet is a good substitute for real life... The fact is, all loose Metroplex, may it be loose complete, or just MIB, will be worthless in the moment this sh*t comes out, and this will happen to all figures that come out in "high quality reissues"

I support funky knockoffs, but these bootlegs must be stopped.

The Dai Atlas KO is awful. The motorized action doesn't work half of the time and skips badly; loose joints and panels; loose fitting accessories (especially the shield); Micromaster self-destroys upon first transformation. So yeah, that one was worth $25 at best.

The only reason I'd buy that would be to repaint/kitbash it into a possible HMW character. But if they're gonna price it over $50, it's not worth it. I'd rather take my chances on eBay trying to get an authentic G1 Metroplex.

I just won an origonal for $41.00. It is misssing one missle but what the hell is that. Why would anyone pay 100.00 or more for something thats not origonal :-? or atleast an offical reissue when you can pick up a G1 for less :???: . I dont know, maybe Im missing something but dont think so. Just look at those outrageous prices for those dinobot KO's. I think the most disturbing thing is the prices they are charging for this KO crap not so much that they are producing it. I think they are mostly trying to target the uneducated TF buyers out there more so than fooling the educated ones.

Yep about 2 years ago, had a BatMan logo instead of AutoBot on the wings, but full sized complete and with all the motorized gimmicks. Sold on average for about $20.

That right there is just one more straw on the camel's back when I think of these newer KOs

In the hunt! There's an easy way and a hard way. I've been looking for a Sky Garry and Grandus for a while now. I know I can score the Brave Series versions for cheap(and currently there is an almost affordable Grandus on Ebay but more prevolent matters...) But they aren't right!

I've been looking for an affordable loose Metroplex, but am waiting for the right deal. Congrats to stsausser, I know the auction you won it's a nice figure.

I didn't bid myself though cause again I have Metroplex MIB, and during the summer saw him sell in similar condition for $28(I know cause I lost by $.50 since I wasn't at my computer at auctions end). But with that to see a KO sell for top dollar kills me!

I'd rather keep trying for that perfect price, and have a noteworthy play peice! As stand ins, OK, but for additions to a collection worth mention, well, I'd rather take my time, do it the hard way, and have it the right way :-?
-------------------------------------------
As for the "Crappy Dai Atlas Reissue" well yeah it may be sucky, but the price for a stand in is right, and who's to say this won't be just as bad?

I'm making it a point to not knock the quality of an unreleased mold, just it's valility. Asuming that an unreleased Knock Off will be of the same quality as an origional before it's released is an argument that will not hold water with me.

Put a $30 tag on this and it's a nice stand in, but otherwise, don't take pride in your new MSIB TRANSFORMER cause that's not what you just bought.

If your gonna do something, do it right!

There was a Dai Atlus bootleg, back around 2000, I believe, that was a pretty close replica of the original. It had an authentic looking box (with a different C-Designation) and, with a few minor exceptions, the stickers/paint aps, etc, were spot-on.

Later, a company reproduced Dai Atlus again, apparently using the knockoff as the basis. This one was, to put it nicely, less than great. The Batman logos instead of Autobot logos were...interesting.

The 100 dollar price tag seems to include having the large/heavy box shipped from China. It doesn't seem like a bad price for a nice display piece. If you're looking to complete a vintage Metroplex, you might pay more than this just for all the little bits that fall off of it. It might kill the market on Vintage Metroplex figs, but that's a good thing for all you collectors, right?

An average lot of metroplex parts goes for about goes for about $25 Hell the 2 maroon guns usualy start at $9.98.

As or a nice boxed shelf piece...

Well some may be happier paying top dollar for a RiemByant.org as apose to a Rembrant!?!

Think about it just for a millisecond. Why would they go through all the trouble of reproducing a complex G1 toy with the original box and accessories and forget about the chrome, a very minor step? Doesn't make any sense. THERE WILL BE CHROME.

Because the burden of proof when dealing with a KO, Bootleg, Reproduction, or other non-official product lies entirely upon the production team.

They have to prove that their product is not garbage.

Besides, it seems you haven't read what I've written on the subject, while I, unfortunately, have read what you have written.

QFT! This is an unofficial counterfeit, and no matter how well people think it fits into their collections, it isnt really Metroplex.

Same goes for the Dinobots, Mirage, Wheeljack and all the minibots and gestalts these rip off artists pump into the marketplace.

who cares if its a superbly done KO, and it drops the original prices...I support transformers but the collector's markets have become extremely greedy on the price points of OGs so I could care less if this KO is almost Hasbro or takara Quality.. that's not an issue to me.. I'd buy it..

It's like a conversation i had earlier about my enormous cell phone charges from a certain big cell phone company, whom I know despise.. I'd rather get moderate service from some other company and get a butt load of extras free and service fees for cheap, then pay through the ass on super cell service and reception, but pay for it in droves and extras tacked on at a charge... it's not worth the wallet pain for that kind of thing..
same with Metroplex.. in my opinion, the brickformer is overrated and th original shouldn't be that expensive.. in a box MISB, the KO is perfect for my collection.. I don't care that much about an original in my stock, as long as I get a KO that's of high quality and represents the toy I loved...

hell, alot of these toys are from the 80s and they are severally outdated and really in my opinion not worth the extra Quan simply because of the original status.. I can now afford a Metroplex, ina nice box worthy of display in my collection.. I hope they make more!!!

I hope thy also do a Rattrap mold from the original Beast wars toy, so I can finally get one..

Takara "we can't find the mold!" give me a break, get a KO artist to go in and reverse engineer one and make a mold out of it, that'll suit me just fine!!
