Hold off. If Takara is issuing a remolded Wreck-Gar. Hasbro might eventually do the same.

Its not removable per se, but you can retract it, which sorta does the job, but I think you can still see some of it when its retracted though.

That's what she said.
I'm still not impressed by either Perceptor. I do kind of like his "chest window" and the chrome bits, but he's just not winning me over. I'm not 100% convinced it's the alt mode, as I'd probably have him in robot mode anyway, there's just something...
Kup, well, I want United Kup I think, although I would like more pics. Generations/RTS Kup has different coloured arms and head from the rest of him that just doesn't look right to me.

Yes, the arguement over how well G1 Blaster and Soundwave fit in with a classics-verse discussion has been made, but the alt-modes of Soundwave, Blaster, Perceptor are so iconic and associated with the character, its hard to update them in the same way as Prime, Jazz or Starscream. The problem with Perceptor is that he's a van that transforms into a robot that looks like it wants to turn into a microscope, forming an unhappy vision.
I still recommend the reissue G1 Perceptor. It'd be nice if a 3rd party did an anime head for the cartoon enthusiasts.

MINDVVIPE wrote:Nuts to all of you, The Generations figures are the best TFs to date. Perceptor looks like what Perceptor would look like if you looked out your window and he was in the driveway. The figure is just sick, glad it wasn't some lame oversized human microscope; a cybertronian analysis machine? yea alright, but for now, this doesn't offer much to complain about. Great articulation, amazing aesthetics, barely any kibble (god i hate that word so much)... I couldn't be any more pleased with the new TFs, and have no warrant for any new updated G1 figures of whats already been set to release/released unless they were cybertronian versions.
not saying you're wrong, but remember when TFs turned into things other than cars, tanks or jets? that was pretty cool, no?

Oh yea, tottaly, which is why I love my Music Label Soundwave opposed to WFC Soundwave (Hes not bad, but I prefer the aesthetics of ML, and the fact that he actually plays music). I got nothing against being true to the oldschool alt modes, but I just don't see any reason to be dissatisfied with the current renditions for a few reasons... we are FINALLY gettind oldschool characters, they fit with the realistic theme where as they can all be seen in the same scene without any of them looking akward (and actually look badass, like tracks/wheeljacks car mold), PLUS they don't stand out with bad paint apps that would make them appear like obvious toys. Say we get a Generations Shockwave and he turns into a behemoth tank; Okay, kind of a let down in some regard, BUT if it looks absolutely SICK, screw it, i'm down. I guess it all boils down to taste, but yea, ask for more, not less, haha. Saying it should be more like a G1 figure is the exact opposite message I want TF toy engineers to have in their minds, but rather, more like G1 Characters, which seems like they're capturing so far.

I don't know this for a fact but with Perceptor I believe Hasbro wanted to make him look like a as close to a triple changer as they could without him actually being one. In the IDW comics he is a triple changer so I think Hasbro wanted to mimic that and also keep the microscope parts in bot mode to semi-satisfy the G1 fans.
