Va'al wrote:Weibo user TOYSPIE has uploaded - with a large number of watermarks and an internal use only mark - an image from the upcoming Titans Return line, starting with a bang: Fortress Maximus! The toy will include deluxe Titan Master Cerebros, as we had seen already, an exclusive sword and G1 style deco and stickers, with release programmed for February 2016. Check out the mirrored, albeit small, image below.

Am I the only one a bit dissapointed that the base doesnt look as fun as the G1 toy (which I dont own yet) ?

EDIT:NVM It seems to be that their are some similar parts of metroplex so it probably will be a remold but we don't know until its released

Well, the patterns on the arms are very similar, and I just noticed that the upper legs and waist seem to be the same.

The legs could fold in but time will show....

Also Coborton, I really liked the verticality of the G1 toy, how it wasnt just all ramps. This one seems more of the limbs spread out to form ramps and less like a city. Though I will wait for final judgement once I learn more of the play features. Didnt mean to sound like such an old man

I accidentally quoted my own post somehow. I meant to quote yours, as to ask what the "Hasbro's volume" thing meant. If you look up, I have edited my original post to reflect that.

What if that's Cases. Metro was packed 2 per case right?
Not a huge number, but most stores only got one or 2 cases where it was available. It was a lot less well distributed outside of the US, it was practically a specialist only item in the UK. Only the bigger TRUs stocked it as domestic product, everywhere else seemed to be grey imports.
Then when you add in the fact that every titan figure so far has had at least 2 versions release by Hasbro, and that Takara will be covering the Asian market release.
It'd be interesting to know how many Metros and Devvy units are out there.

It means only 3000 copies of this toy will be available in the united states and 6000 will be available in the rest of the world. That is just 1000 more than a Takaratomymall exclusive for a country that has triple the population .
It could be that the edition shown here is not the fort max we will be getting since not only does it have a production similar to a more limited toy, but it also speaks of exlusive swords and titan masters. How are these exclusive in comparison to other accessories found in other toys? Is there a bigger release that doesnt include the sword?

Well, then that seals the deal. I'll have to skip Bruticus and Sky Reign (temporarily, mind you) to get this guy.

Definitely a reshell of Metroplex, but after trying to configure my Metroplex into that mistransformed Battle Station Mode, they really need to remold part of the thighs to allow his legs to spread out all the way, as there's a hunk of plastic on each hip that prevents him from doing that.

If that is the base mode and not, as Sabr pointed out, someone mistransforming something whilst checking a catalog, I'm good with it. A kind of vanilla area will be good to have since other bots with base modes, such as Blaster, can then hook on in different places to allow for more creative uber-combined base things.
Some of the language on this makes me think this little shot is for an exclusive of some kind - sounds a lot like the pitch for SDCC Devastator. I'm not sure what "XFL: 2/19/2016" means, but I'd guess that with this being a week after Toy Fair, it's one of two things. First, could just be an announcement date, as in regular version shown at Toy Fair, with exclusive one revealed the next Friday (2/19). Alternately, this is going to be available as some online store's exclusive starting on 2/19, as it does say this would be the "First Titan Wars Product".
Lots of assumptions in here, where's this David Chua to clear things up for us!
edit: had put 2/16 before, should've been 2/19

Speaking of base mode play, I recently got my hands on the TRU and Target "wishbooks" and I'm seeing a lot of base modes across various toy lines. How cool is that?
Looks like we are going to have to switch from shelf displays to table displays.

It's not a matter of we hate it (And it is way too early to say it's bad in any way) it's just that we are attempting to figure out if he is a remold or not. Plus we are analyzing his design based on a small picture of low quality, so it is fun to discuss! i personally am very excited for another city-former, I'm just trying to figure out how metroplex's mold may fit in

Yes, that is the perfect word for what I was feeling, Vanilla! Not sure how many base formers I will get and if I only get one this would be it, so I would have preffered verticality over a vanilla base. But as sabre pointed out, its probably mistransformed. Still very intrigued by it all.
While it does sound like an SDCC exclusive, the fact that they speak of global quanitities and not just the States made me think it couldnt be that. But a platinum edition makes sense. Where 3K are for an exclusive distributer in the US, and the rest are handled by others in different countries. Just like the current platinum Dinobots are handled. This may be an insight into how many platinum editions are made for current sets, something I had wanted to know.

Do you guys want this to be a reshell? I don't. Why are we assuming so?
For a toy this big and impressive, and at that price point, it better be a whole new toy. (or at least 80% of a new toy) Other than the over all size, shape, and function, I don't see the correlations. If it is a retool, I'd almost rather shell out another 100 bucks for the OG toy.

Given the different look and if that is the actual transformation, different transformation areas, maybe it is a case of 2 molds that are so similar that they can be mistaken to be retools when they only share engineering?
Either way, I want this Max, and honestly I do prefer a new mold, but if this is a retool it looks to be a very good one and one that I would accept

I am thinking of doing that RIGHT NOW. The only thing stopping me is not the price but the fact that we are moving next april and cant store too many things in the house since we are trying to make it as nice and spacious as possible for potential buyers.
And yes, its a reshell for sure, no reason they would use the same arms mold if it wasnt.
A few more things to note though:
The name written on the pic, David Chua, is a higher up at Hasbro Asia. The quantities are that of a platinum exclusive, so is the price and so is the fact that the description highlights "exclusive" features.
I think there is more and more evidence pointing us to the fact that this is most probably an Exclusive for Hasbro Asia that will get 3000 copies distributed in the states as a retailer exclusive.

But how do you know that? I look at that picture and don't see the same arms. Maybe the hands. Look at the base mode (of that tiny picture ). The arms are laid out in front of him and appear to be possibly split open. Plex's arms don't do that. The shape of his shoulders and forearms are completely different.BillyJimmy88 wrote:And yes, its a reshell for sure, no reason they would use the same arms mold if it wasnt.

Let me show you. Firstly, the pictures is a bit squished so he should look a little tallker than this.
Look at the forearms on the picture below, especially the circle. Notice that there are also these lines pointing diagonally down from the circle on the forearms?
Now look at gen metroplex in the exact same area:
Those forearms are the exact same mold. With the same molded detail of the circle and diagonal lines. Then make your eyes go up to the shoulders and if you take into account that the picture is squished a bit, you will see it is the very same proportions as metroplex with very similar shoulders. The feet might be the same mold too, not sure. But yes, looking at them both, it is a reshell with the torso area reworked for transformation and to accomodate the headmaster.
Oh another thing guys, its written Titan Wars and not Titans Return, so this could be an early image that is just surfacing now.

Okay thought so. The only thing I hope for out of this guy are heavier ratchets in his legs and arms. I feel like that's the one main fault in at least my Metroplex.
