The folks at
TFINO have discovered an alternate mode image for the upcoming
Movie Masterpiece Starscream. Takara's decided to make this figure more movie-accurate compared to it's predecessor. From what we can see in the following image, the tattoos have been removed, leaving a more 'In Disguise' Starscream. Check it out below!
If you're interested in the figure, feel free to pre-order at site sponsors
BBTS or
TFsource!

That is gorgeous, but I can't get over the Doritopiece Nachoscream robot mode.

Looks good, the colours. But there's no remold at all?
Another thing, can you guys put all the TF3 images in spoiler links? You know the click and then they reveal. I mean, am I the only one who doesn't want to see images of a movie that comes out in about 12 months?
Last time I had expectations, and we all know how that worked out.
I love the news section, but I think it's bluntly smacked right into it. My only complaint.

Complete diluting of the MP line. Bad move Has/Tak/Tomy.

I'll say it before Dead Metal does: It's not part of the regular MP line, but part of a
subline. We've had King Exkizer from the Brave series done as a Masterpiece and nobody complained, despite having a Takara MP designation. I mean, compare:
MP-01 Convoy vs. MP-
B01 King Exkizer vs. MP-
M01 Starscream
I do agree it should have been a new mold and Leader Screamer should have been in the regular line, but that may not work sales-wise in Japan as the movie toys aren't selling as well as in the US there, as Diem can attest. At least TakaraTomy took the opportunity to give it a new deco based on the first movie toy.

I think one of the reasons this toy was released under the Masterpiece line is that the toy designer was the same as some of the Masterpiece line (Starscream and others if I remember right from the Botcon panel.) The Japanese team coming to the convention was really a special occasion. Their stories and insight were great, and they were amazingly humble and kind.

I can deal with the tatoos for half the price. Leader Starscream is an amazing figure.

It looks great, but not worth the price. I'll either live with the tattoos or wait for the eventual Hasbro repaint.

Oh why oh why must we get the version with the stupid tattoos in the USA ??? Who's idea was the tattoo concept and why did Michael Bay choose Starscream (My favorite) to wear them ??? Do the tattoos hold and reference to the full body tattoos of the Japanese mafia ???
