Guardminder was the drone that came with Black Zarak. I actually meant Fasttrack, the original that came with Scorponok, sorry.

No need to apologise it would be a good idea if hasbro did do this for all the similar bots, we know there's a rumoured sixgun on the way but that's it so far.

Curious to see if there'll be any focus on the micromaster teams interacting with the titan class figure... loved the city building aspects as a kid and was one of the parts of the Titan returns figures I thought was a bit half arsed. The 1980's ramps were better at connecting the sets together... (granted they were detachable and often lost)

The city building gimmick of '80s Micromasters was truly a blessing: finally you could play into some "official" scenery. Big guys like Metroplex & co were just too few, and other toys' sizes too different, to permit something like that before.
I hope that we will see some old Micromaster bases in the future, otherwise they'll be just Armada Minicons all over again.

Minor correction: The drone that came with BlackZarak was Black Roritchi. The Guardminders were a whole bunch of drones who used Fasttrack's design, with Black Roritchi's coloration used for their leader.ZeroWolf wrote:mentre83 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:mentre83 wrote:As I wrote before, I'm quite fond of the idea of Cog being more that a simple plastic accessory. It would be so cool to get some Micromaster bases. I so pumped to see what Micromasters we get through out this line.

Well we do have a whole generations line filled with leaders who turned into bases to use.
Plus, Titans Return Blaster's base mode is an homage to the fire station micro master base with the colour, Danger sticker and ramps.

Sudden realization: what if we'll be getting Omega Supreme (as it's been hinted by some promotional images, if I'm not mistaken... again) as the Micromaster rocket base that came with Countdown?
Maybe even as a Guardian Robot/Omega Sentinel repaint..?

Actually an Animated-ish OS wouldn't be bad either. One of the biggest misses of that excellent toyline indeed.

I don't think Leaders are getting downsized anymore than they already have been. Ultra Magnus might not be super tall, but he still has a lot of mass thanks to the trailer armor, the big black cannons, and his big-aft laser rifle.
D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Thrilling 30 Jetfire is great and should not be revisited anytime soon. neither should Springer or Sandstorm or even Roadbuster. Whirl maybe, but I would still be satisfied with the T30 one.
As a cartoon fan, I say that T30 Jetfire, Springer, AND Sandstorm all need revisiting from a more G1 standpoint. T30 Jetfire is to a large degree, the cartoon Skyfire robot mode wearing the Macross Valkyrie jet mode on his back. We need one that has both the cartoon robot mode and the cartoon jet mode. T30 Springer and Sandstorm are a bit off from the G1 designs in both robot and altmode. Especially Sandstorm on the altmode front.
Flashwave wrote:Have we had a word on Sunstreaker? I want the pair or none at all
Keep calm. Bear in mind that a proper G1-mimicking Sunstreaker is NOT going to be a retool of Sideswipe. They have severely different transformation schemes in their original designs - Sunstreaker has his arms and head in his car mode's aft, his windshield and windows become his chest (windshield pointing down), and his front end telescopes out to become his feet. Sideswipe's head is under his hood, which becomes his chest, his arms are at his sides and have his door windows attached to them, his windshield ends up on his back, and his car aft telescopes out to become his legs.

Yes, instead of Omega Supreme we got a stupid as hell jumbo-size Bumblebee. Because jumbo-size toys of the LITTLE yellow guy always sell well, right? OH WAIT.
However, I don't see that quite working with a line going for G1 looks. Animated OS has a distinctly different robot mode based around his turning into a single ship. And a Siege OS, even if it did turn into a single ship, would not have Animated's distinct art style.

i think RiD Ultra Magnus or if you don't count combination, Armada Tidal Wave

My guess is technically SixGun, who was literally 6 guns from Metroplex. but thats arguable as to whether you count SixGun as a seperate entity or as a drone for Metroplex, and only Mtroplexused him I think

I felt that was so inspired. Combining the toon and the toy in one delicious package, making this the most affordable macross toy ever. And he was just so cool. I loved the optional faces.

There are definitely designs for the remaining vote members, since Primal was revealed only a year after he won the ballot (and they definitely didn't rig the vote in favor of Primal), and the design process for a Transformer usually takes about 2 years. If I remember correctly, Warden said that he really liked the design that they made for Hound, and that Arcee would have been called Arcana Magnus or something like that.Z3ROhour wrote:

I've theorized for a while that the Leaders of Shockwave and Magnus are remnants of the POTP designs. It doesn't really make sense to include Magnus and Shockwave in a vote for a new Leader figure, and then release completely different Leader versions of both of them in the wave right after the POTP would have come out.

I'm considering this too. It would help out some figures like Sideswipe who don't otherwise have a handheld gun if you do the G1 thing (and honestly, why wouldn't you?) and mount the rocket launder over his left shoulder.

Yes. Sixgun was the first. That's what he was designed as even if the fiction never realy made use of it. But he was designed as a number of weapons that could be wielded by and attached to Metroplex in various ways, and also lent to other figures - and in particular the combiners designed to interact with Metroplex.

Sure, there's a lot wrong with these, but it was an entire wave devoted to the Wreckers at retail (plus a club exclusive Ironfist) and did give us our first Impactor toy in 2013.
