We've seen them in their BotShot (or BeCool, rather) forms, but it's now time to take a look at the full sized samurai team! Seibertron.com is proud to present three new installments in its highly detailed galleries, featuring the Takara Transformers Go! Swordbot Samurai Team Kenzan, Ganoh and Jinbu, and their Micron partners! Click on any of the images below to view the whole gallery, each of which includes the combined form out of the three variations featuring the 'top' robot.

These look like fun toys. Ryan - after having these in hand, are they a lot better than originally thought?

Yes and no. I liked the individual robots more than I thought I would and the odd upper leg/lower torso areas didn't bother me quite as much once I had them in hand. Prior to owning them, I thought the pay off with these would be the combined modes which I found to be very disappointing. They stay together fairly well, but the limited poseability and frustrating combined mode transformations with Japanese instructions made the combined modes not enjoyable to me. The inability to turn the heads of the combined mode also was a big disappointment (though I knew this going in).

While I didn't put batteries in my figures, I was very impressed by the electronics of these guys from the YouTube videos that I watched. Very elaborate. Almost too much so for what these figures were.

They're some of my least favorite figures from the Transformers line. I would love to know more about the origins of these toys. As we've discussed on the Seibertron.com podcast, it seems like these figures were intended for another transforming toy line such as Brave. It is very obvious that a designer spent a crazy amount of time working on these but unfortunately they just didn't turn out that great in the end.

Ultimately, I'm just bummed that this is the best that they can come up with for Combiners. I don't understand why Combiners are such a difficult concept for Hasbro and Takara these days. Pretty much everything 1992 and on has been a disappointment for combiners.

I feel it should be pointed out that, in the show at least, the combined weapon made by Kenzan's swords, Jinbu's longsword, and Ganoh's spear is only used by GoGanoh. GoKenzan uses Kenzan's two swords while GoJinbu uses Jinbu's longsword.

I feel it should be pointed out that that's not what the instructions show. They show all 3 using the combined weapon. I added Kenzan's swords to the combined weapon just because I thought it looked cool.

Interesting. Guess the show makers decided to do their own thing.

Now I wonder why they chose GoGanoh to be the lucky one of the three who got the special weapon. :-?

Maybe because Ganoh and GoGanoh are, in my opinion, the best of all of these figures. :D

Ganoh has the most traditional looking robot mode with the upper legs, kind of reminds me of a Bulkhead type figure. GoGanoh is also probably one of the best of the combiners as well.

Go Ganouh is the best of the 3 for look, except the spindly legs. For a really awesome combiner you need Ganoh as the top and the legs :D

How was GoGanoh for posing leg wise? The articulation is there, but I can't get him to stand at all...the joints in Jinbu are just so loose on mine he falls over due to the legs just turning and sprawling all over the place :-( Also, non of my combined modes can hold the weight of the shield because the arm joints are loose.

Also, the instructions show kenzan's weapons as part of the combined weapon. Although it feels quite clumsy. Honestly I wish Kenzan's swords were a lot bigger, too.

Ah, Officer Barbrady, Jimbo, and Hot Spice. We meet again.

The galleries seem to do them more justice than every other time I've seen them. Their combined modes still look disproportional.

The line is hit or miss, but I really like it as a whole. Of the seven Autobots I'd probably put Ganoh as #1, but Optimus Exprime would be a close #2 (no potty jokes, please :P). His train and bot modes are good, and if you ignore the instructions you can make a very good dragon mode out of him. The bottom of the list would be Sensuimaru. His bot mode is the worst (which is really saying something), his shark mode is like a sub shaped like a shard rather than a robot shark (the other two aren't a tank shaped like a lion or a jet shaped like a bird), and GoSensui has really weird forearms.

If I were to rank them It's probably be:

1) Ganoh
2) Optimus Exprime
3) Hishoumaru
4) Gekisoumaru
5) Kenzan
6) Jinbu
7) Sensuimaru

All of the Predacons are awesome, though.

I still think those Go! Combiners look really good. I even like the weird Prime. I'd have them all at Hasbro prices, sadly with the cancellation of the 3-packs I had to pass on them.

I kinda like the idea of Optimus being a serpentine dragon like the official mode attempted to be, so if I ever get this (and that's a big if), I'm gonna try taking a stab at making a fanmade serpentine dragon mode, no matter how wonky it'd still look. :P

OK OK, seriously though this set looks garbagio. You can't just slap an Optimus head on any robot body and call it OP... or can you? They should retool this and make it a Power Ranger set. The colors and combine form look all matches PR criterion already.

Except for the legal issues that would prevent that from happening. Namely that this is a TakaraTomy creation and Power Rangers is owned by Bandai, a completely diffferent and rival company. Someone would likely sue the other if they tried to do that.

We've been seeing reports of these figures showing everywhere but in mainland US - Seibertron was lucky enough to get his photographer's hands on them. He has provided us with yet another astonishing set of galleries. Feast your eyes below on the later wave of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commanders: Unicron Megatron, Bludgeon and Ultra Magnus. Unicron Megatron is a repaint of the original Transformers Prime Cyberverse mold. Ultra Magnus is retooled from the Optimus Prime mold. Bludgeon is a repaint and retool of the Shockwave mold. Click on any of the images for the full gallery.

I remember when retools were unheard of in Cyberverse. None of the Movie ones had any of that (save adding ports for weapons). UM and Bludgeon look great!
... though I kinda wish Bludgeon was based on BM Scavenger instead. He looks closer to the Vehicon as it is.

I saw Bludgeon in a Target in Canada. But I'm pretty sure he was approaching 12 bucks. He was at least over 10 bucks. Prices seemed higher in Canada for a long time, but it seems like America is catching up in many ways. On the other hand everything sounds at least a bit more expensive here, without fault. At any rate Bludgeon despite being cool was too expensive

The Magnus looks really good.
That doesn't surprise me as I really like that mold for Optimus as well.

The Bludgeon would be OK if they had done a remold of the gun as well.
With that big arm, the mold still screams "Shockwave" to me. A more traditional arm with a fold away barrel would have been better IMO.

The Megatron is a weak mold, at least for alt mode, and those dorky colors don't help. Not a fan.

I've been avoiding the Prime/BH line like the plague since I basically can count on one hand the figures that have impressed me enough to actually buy them. I'm actually impressed with Magnus and Bludgeon. Been meaning to get the Cyberverse Shockwave so now I'll have to snag him and Bludgeon both. Magnus is actually looking pretty decent so I'm willing to splurge the little bit for him.
As for Megatron... well, you can take one look at that color and conclude for yourself just what I think THAT version resembles.
Two out of three. Not too bad Hasbro. In fact, pretty darn good considering how much I generally dislike the Prime BH line.

Seibertron.com is pleased to present our latest Transformers Prime gallery, Cybertron Con 2013 Beast Hunters Commander Class Predaking. This figure comes from the Cybertron Con 2013 Exclusive Shockwave's Lab, #6 the Trilling 30 series. The set is basically the same and the SDCC 2013 Exclusive Shockwave's Lab set with the exception of this little guy. The SDCC 2013 version is mainly clear plastic with a little blue here and there, whereas the Cybertron Con version is all orange, mainly translucent. A new day, a new gallery! Today's subject? G25 Go Prime from Takara Tomy's Transformers Go! line. Go Prime is a partially translucent redeco of the Thundertron mold from Prime: Robots In Disguise. (One of the last molds of the original Prime main line prior to switching over to Beast Hunters.)

It's not the first time this mold has been reused, either. The first time was another Takara Tomy exclusive, Leo Prime, from the Arms Micron line. (Takara Tomy's main line for Prime, featuring slight remolds based on PRID.)

His Micron partner is a reuse, too. Micron Go is a shark based Micron which originally debuted with Arms Micron Dreadwing. A Micron by the name of Jigu. (You can see both galleries for Dreadwing and Jigu here and here.)

And now, our featured gallery:

The gallery train keeps on chuggin' along! Today's newest galleries focus on Cyberverse figures, the Commander Class, specifically. Both figures in this spotlight are redecos of existing figures, and in the case of Huffer, he's also a remold.

Speaking of which, first up is Huffer. He's based on the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Class figure of Trailcutter, and both redecoed remolds feature a new head, remolded shoulders (to include cannons), plus various blades on their bodies to differentiate from the original mold, PRID Commander Class Ironhide. Decoed up in G1 Huffer orange and blue, he's an homage to the original figure but has become quite the battle ready tough guy, which is where he differs from the G1 original, greatly.

And last, but not least, we end this spotlight on our galleries with Beast Blade Optimus Prime. This figure is a redeco of the original Beast Hunters Commander Class Optimus Prime who is also the basis for the newly released Voyager Class "simplified" Optimus. (Which we reported on here, and have a gallery of, here.)

This Optimus is redecoed in the same color scheme as the Weaponizers repaint Beast Tracker Optimus (which can be seen here.) and comes with the battlewing shield.

The Seibertron gallery machine just keeps on chuggin' along, bringing you new goodies to feast upon. Our newest galleries involve the Prime universe, more specifically, Beast Hunters and feature the Takara Tomy releases of the following figures:

Hunter Arcee (a redeco/remold of PRID Arcee, which you can see here)

Hunter Bulkhead (A redeco based on an US Beast Hunters mold, which you can see here)

Hunter Wheeljack (a redeco/remold of PRID Wheeljack, which you can see here)

Hunter Soundwave (who is not only a redeco/remold of PRID Soundwave, but he's also partnered with Ravage, instead of Laserbeak. You can see the original duo here)

And now, onto the picture links:

Who else suspects that if the US releases looked like this, they wouldn't be clearancing them for $5 each.
Cobra

Cobra

They look too similar to the originals then, so they may actually be worse off with less knowledgeable customers.

And I'm slowly falling in love with the Beast retoolings, thanks to Go! Ratchet (redubbed Flatline) and BH Dreadwing. I'm looking at Arcee and Starscream now...

Cobraaaaaaa!
I was going to say Soundwave looks good now that he doesn't look like a macaw, but now I'm disappointed they didn't go full Cobra Commander on him. The screenface would make a perfect metal faceplate.
