It's not the first time this mold has been reused, either. The first time was another Takara Tomy exclusive, Leo Prime, from the Arms Micron line. (Takara Tomy's main line for Prime, featuring slight remolds based on PRID.)
His Micron partner is a reuse, too. Micron Go is a shark based Micron which originally debuted with Arms Micron Dreadwing. A Micron by the name of Jigu. (You can see both galleries for Dreadwing and Jigu here and here.)
And now, our featured gallery:
Transformers Go! Go Prime

Whereas Thundertron and Leo Prime are fine.

Ninja face, cool ninja weapons, no strange arms micron weapon, and it would have been sold!

Speaking of which, first up is Huffer. He's based on the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Class figure of Trailcutter, and both redecoed remolds feature a new head, remolded shoulders (to include cannons), plus various blades on their bodies to differentiate from the original mold, PRID Commander Class Ironhide. Decoed up in G1 Huffer orange and blue, he's an homage to the original figure but has become quite the battle ready tough guy, which is where he differs from the G1 original, greatly.
And last, but not least, we end this spotlight on our galleries with Beast Blade Optimus Prime. This figure is a redeco of the original Beast Hunters Commander Class Optimus Prime who is also the basis for the newly released Voyager Class "simplified" Optimus. (Which we reported on here, and have a gallery of, here.)
This Optimus is redecoed in the same color scheme as the Weaponizers repaint Beast Tracker Optimus (which can be seen here.) and comes with the battlewing shield.

Hunter Arcee (a redeco/remold of PRID Arcee, which you can see here)
Hunter Bulkhead (A redeco based on an US Beast Hunters mold, which you can see here)
Hunter Wheeljack (a redeco/remold of PRID Wheeljack, which you can see here)
Hunter Soundwave (who is not only a redeco/remold of PRID Soundwave, but he's also partnered with Ravage, instead of Laserbeak. You can see the original duo here)

Cobra
They look too similar to the originals then, so they may actually be worse off with less knowledgeable customers.
And I'm slowly falling in love with the Beast retoolings, thanks to Go! Ratchet (redubbed Flatline) and BH Dreadwing. I'm looking at Arcee and Starscream now...
Posted by Noideaforaname on April 4th, 2014 @ 10:18am CDT
I was going to say Soundwave looks good now that he doesn't look like a macaw, but now I'm disappointed they didn't go full Cobra Commander on him. The screenface would make a perfect metal faceplate.

Just packaging. The only figures featured in the DVD anime shorts are the Predacons, the Samurai and Shinobi Teams, and Optimus Exprime.

The Ninja team consists of two of the best figures original to Go!: Gekisoumaru and Hishoumaru; and the absolute worst of the line: Sensuimaru. Ganoh is still my favorite.

I'd say no, given their unorthodox price points and (really) Japanese styling.

They've been on Amazon (all of the Go! figures) for dirt cheap for imports.

You can get them for less than US retail ($19 shipped for one of them, $22 shipped for the other, I just got an extra Kenzan for $30 shipped the other day from Amazon to fix the problem with mine having a broken pony tail from the factory ... urgh).

Guren Dragotron and Beast Fire Predaking both share the same mold, and come with Infernum Blades, accessories, as well as an impressive wingspan and electronics, but different decos, with red, black and yellow (and the name) replacing the orange, black and silver of the Predacons Rising figure in the Go! version. Optimus Prime, on the other hand, shows off an impressive cleaver sword, shield and rotating Firebreath Cyclocannons and electronics.

Interestingly enough, before Dragotron assumes this form, the episodes that came immediately before his awakening used the Beast Fire Predaking deco:

Gekisoumaru and Kenzan are the latest to step in front of the camera, but these two are the black repaint versions.
Clarification of the purpose of these remolds courtesy of fellow Seibertronian Sabrblade:
Sabrblade wrote:These represent toy-only powered-up forms of the two, after having been enhanced by the powers of the Black Legendisc.
Kenzan was a TRU Japan exclusive repaint of Kenzan, and you can see the original here and Gekisoumaru is a Nemesis repaint of the original mold, which you can also see here.

Not to be missed, of course, are the smaller partners that give the name to the line, the Microns. War Breakdown comes with the rhino-hammer Zamu, while Silas Breakdown features mantis-like Magi, and bulked-up Swerve finds a companion in spinning blade saw Sou. Congrats!
I felt bad that I didn't get these galleries up before now. I started them back in 2013 (hence why the lighting is different in shots such as the vehicle mode and then the robot mode). I'm forcing myself to work through some of the backlog of half finished galleries so that that content can be viewed instead of sitting on my computer.
Currently trying to finish up 2 of the 3 Specialist sets that came out in Asia last year before Motormaster, Blackjack, Huffer, Drift, Deluxe Optimus, Hyper Change Optimus, Legion Grimlock and Legion Sideswipe all arrive tomorrow.

What do you mean by the everyone is a Wrecker theme?
Sure Wheeljack was never a wrecker but even then there were only three wreckers in the show and other wreckers mentioned have been so before (besides Seaspray but hey we never saw what he was like)

They were going to reveal that he actually wasn't dead, having jettisoned his ship at the last moment, and have him portrayed a lot like the character of Quint from the Jaws movie, and like Batman with a nautical whistle that would strike fear into the hearts of his enemies. A gritty, hardcore Wrecker. But alas, it never happened.

I knew they were going to bring him back and the whistle part but I never knew that he would of acted like Quint.
Quint's cool.
Thanks for sharing Sabr.

But what I was getting at is the traditionally quirky/fun Wheeljack, Bulkhead, and (implied) Seaspray were all reimagined as Wreckers, a subgroup that in the show existed basically just as shorthand for "badass" (relatedly, Hardshell and Dreadwing were trumped up as badasses because they killed Wreckers). This Swerve looks like he'd be just another badass Wrecker instead of anything resembling MTMTE's now-famous boisterous bartender.
... granted, given the timing of everything, I think Prime Swerve's personality would've been decided before MTMTE really caught on, but that's besides the point.

Ironicly enough this Swerve's bio says he is a geoligist and not a fighter
Bio:
Swerve tends to get lost in his own thoughts a lot. Which is pretty dangerous when he's driving through traffic. An incredibly intelligent geologist, he's vital to the Autobots' mission on Earth, scouting out energon deposits and other resources with the sensors in his arms. He tends to work alone, simply sending reports back to base as he roams the planet.
Well, mostly alone.
Swerve long ago discovered the secret of the Arms Microns, but promised the diminutive robots that he would keep their existence a secret. As such, he's always got company in the form of his own Arms Micron partner Sou.
