Maybe a good idea for a future Botcon set.

Hope to see Classic or even Prime versions of these bots down the road, especially Boulder; always love to see more construction vehicles.

I wish the cartoon was more accurate to this style.

Blades showed up in bulk at Walmarts a few weeks before Christmas. One of my local Walmarts had about 20 or 30 Blades sitting on a shelf. I didn't realize he was that difficult to find ... went back there after Christmas and they were all long gone.
Boulder was available through HasbroToyShop.com around Black Friday, and showed up at some Targets up until Christmas.
Haven't seen anything but wave 1 since Christmas.

Flashwave wrote:Hot Shot had Jolt. Bumblee has a Helicopter. Coincidence? I think not.
I think it's just coincidence. But if you really want to connect the lines, you could even go as far to say that both are an homage to Action Master Bumblebee from 1990, who came with ... a heli-pack. Really think it's just a coincidence though. Kids like Bumblebee. Kids like Helicopters. It's a good fit. Plus it gives kids more to expand upon imagination wise ... now a toy that was previously grounded as a car now has flight capabilities.

And that's why the Transformers brand is so awesome at this stage ... there's literally something for everyone. You want high end pieces like Masterpiece Convoy ... there you go. You want kiddie Transformers for your kids ... here you go. Want toys that look pretty darn close to their big screen counterparts ... here's some for you. Want toys that look like their small screen cartoon counterparts ... here you go. Want reissues of the original toys ... that's what the reissues are for. Like oddball collectibles like Bot Shots or the Japanese imported Kabaya kits ... there's something for those types of collectors. Want updated versions of the classic Transformers toys ... that's what Classics Universe Generations is for.
Sure as heck beats getting 20 to 30 Transformers per year like we did throughout the 90s.

Years later awoke in the strangest of places.
Earth was their home now and in addition
Optimus Prime... gave them this mission:
"Learn from the humans, serve and protect,
Live in their world, earn their respect.
A family of heroes will be your allies
To others remain robots in disguise!"
RESCUE BOTS, roll to the rescue!
Humans in need, heroes indeed!
RESCUE BOTS, roll to the rescue!
RESCUE BOTS!
With Cody to the guide them and show them the way,
Rescue Bots will be saving the day!
RESCUE BOTS, roll to the rescue!
RESCUE BOTS!
I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW!!!!!!! Rescue Bots > Prime all the way!
Though, can't say the same for the toys. Man, I wish these had more articulation. I really do hope that we later get soem Deluxe class figures of the four main characters. but that hasn't stopped me form getting all six figures.
Well, all except for one. I STILL CAN'T FIND BOULDER!!!

It's a good cartoon for a children's cartoon. I still think it would be more interesting if they had Decepticons in it somehow, especially if this is supposed to somehow fit within the larger storyline somehow.

None on eBay right now ... but I'd keep an eye on Targets since they're the chain that had them at Christmas time. I also think it's a safe bet that these will end up in bulk later down the road since there were no new Rescue Bots on display at Toy Fair. I'm assuming they'll just keep knocking these same kiddie toys out for a while.

EDIT: One complaint... No pictures of Grimlock riding Optimus Primal? that aside, there DOES seeem to be a thing on his beast mode back (right on the robot mode head, actually) where the little human figures they make for the Rescue Bots line are meant to ride.
Posted by triKlops on June 1st, 2014 @ 12:54am CDT
Got to admit, Grimlock riding this dino mode OP is a pretty awesome idea.

Must be a design defect, that they obviously should have caught but, regardless. Save your self the headache. The Prime is pretty kool though.
I ordered one online and I'm expecting it soon... Where/how did he break? I'd like to kow what to watch out for.

It has one screw which doesn't help so I can't even open it to see what broke. I handed it to my son, and no lie. 10 seconds later he hands it back to me broken. Twice! And the second time I know he was being extremely careful.
It's really frustrating.

I figured out the fix, and so it's not so bad.
If your dino doesn't want to close the head, and the feet no longer move when closing the arms...
Last resort:
1. Tilt the head / torso forward (or use button)
2. Close the arms to form the head (now has clearance)
3. Force the legs down to the standing position until you hear a snap.
That should hook the legs back into the head mechanism. Happy camping.
I assume this "break" can happen if you tried to push the legs up with the arms open or something.

I really don't get why they even made this (BESIDES "more toys = more $$$").
It's just so bizarre and random.

And how are they supposed to make decent money off of something they don't advertise to its target audience or sell via an outlet its target audience is known to shop from? This thing has no promotion or recognition outside of the adult collector market.RhA wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What, uppercase wasn't enough? Maybe they just went ahead and assumed Prime will sell, no matter what? Ask Hasbro in a few months and I'm guessing they made a profit on this guy. I honestly believe no toy is produced for any other reason than money.

First and foremost, nothing wrong with making money. When it comes to anything business related, that should be the first objective to overcome and then everything else follows suit.
Second, if it had been any other character than Optimus Prime or Bumblebee (or any of the main Rescue Bots characters in this specific case), I would agree with your statement. However, in this case, all parents are searching for is "Rescue Bots" and the character name. This toy will come up, parents will see it's a Rescue Bots toy and an Optimus Prime toy for a reasonable price, and they'll buy it ... especially at Christmas time.
Even though I've had the Seibertron.com Store running for 6 years now, I'm still amazed and continue to under estimate how many Optimus Prime and Bumblebee toys my store sells. This is in spite of the collector in me who continues to think that Hasbro makes too many of both of those characters. Yet, I look at my store's sales records and it seems that I don't keep enough Bumblebees and Optimus Primes in stock, especially at Christmas time.
