Now its time to break down Devy into his component Constructicons featuring Scrapper, Hook, Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Scavenger and Mixmaster. Anybody else notice that the front section of Devy's rifle looks like Galavatron's arm cannon?

Devy's left foot is so weird. Like, Mixmaster is designed to have an ankle-tilt in combined mode, like Scrapper, but you can't actually tilt without bending his arms out of the way and having them hang off the back of the leg.

I'm curious if anyone really likes the metallic purple on this figure. It seems out of place and I find it distracting... and kind of ugly.

I like the chrome. I only transforms my figures once in a while, so not afraid the chrome will rub off. I love to display my transformers under the blue/white lighting. Any color chrome and white plastic shines under the light. It's beautiful. The only gripe I have about the devastator is the left mixer facing up. It's weird. The bigger part of the mixer should face up. But oh, well.

I know I'm definitely a minority on this one but I like the metallic purple. The color doesn't bother me at all and I love the way it pops. I Will say that I'm glad they didn't use it on all the purple because it should be more of an accent than a base color.

Is there any news as to whether US big box retailers like Costco or SAMs Club will have the CW Devastator box set in their stores?

Costco sold Metroplex in stores in 2013, and before that, SAM's Club had the movie Devastator box set.

While we had a review and some images to tide us over, Seibertron finally has the galleries up for the latest Combiner Wars deluxes: Mirage, Sunstreaker, Prowl and Ironhide.

These images also feature the fan mode for Mirage which has the front of the vehicle as his chest. Ultra Prime's gallery has also been updated to include new pics with the rest of the Autobots. Enjoy!

Outside of Mirage I think these combiner war versions are superior to their older versions mostly due to playability reasons as well as looks mostly speaking about Prowl and Ironhide here.

The classics Sunstreaker is a good mold but I prefer the Combiner Wars Head sculpt, engine back and alt mode here.

Even if some characters lose some of their iconic design choices such as Prowl's door wings or Ironhide's window chest (Although this Ironhide's chest is painted in blue to invoke that window chest) I still think these are great updates for them and Combining is a bonus for some people.

And just because their repaints doesn't make them bad I think the repaints here are pretty damn good and the paint choices and new heads make them look different enough from the original molds I mean outside of the pointless repaints such as Nightwatch Optimus when did you guys have problems with repaints as new guys?

The Commandos/Combaticons from Rid were just repaints of the G1 Combaticons and Rid Scourge is just a repaint of an Optimus Prime mold and heck some of the minibots from 1986 were just repaints/remolds of older guys such as Windcharger into Tailgate or Pipes from Huffer.

While I don't hate these, I do wish they would've made a few more cosmetic changes besides the heads. For example, the flip down chests for Prowl and Sunstreaker could've been changed to something new.

I'm with you there, the heads are great, but the bodies could use some more oomph (that is a scientific term). Especially Ironhide and Mirage (Streetwise's chest is at least molded to resemble a car-front), mostly because I think that the Offroad mold looks too slim and young to be Ironhide (pre-war Ironhide, yes) and while the Dragstrip mold rocks the Mirage look, I wish they'd given him new arms to match the style of his boxier 80s era F1 racer and cartoon design.

I actually thought that prowl was a bigger offender, because he has never had those vent things on his legs has he? They could have at least molded faux bumpers or something onto his legs.

And I think it would have really set him apart from streetwise - and driven home the point that he is a police car - to have painted his light bar two different colors, seriously, no modern (and his alt mode is nothing if not modern) police cars have a single colored light bar

Ironhide is boring and Prowl doesn't interest me because I don't like that mold and it's similar to Streetwise, which I already have.

I'm planning on making my own OP-Gestalt, combining OP (the red and blue version) with Mirage, Sunstreaker, Hound, and a 4th to be named later.

Your 4th should be Wheeljack. They actually did some retooling on him.

Well, I figured it would end up being something you would regret not getting, and would then buy it on the secondary market for much higher prices, so I'm technically saving you money ;)

Seibertron.com is proud to present 2 new galleries from the ever popular Combiner Wars line. Legends Class Skywarp follows the tradition and natural progression of repainting Starscream into the classic seeker trio. Legends Class Rodimus when announced was a bit of a curve ball and is a repaint of Combiner Wars Legends Class Blackjack. He can also form the chest piece for Optimus Maximus or even Ultra Prime if you so desire. You should also desire a more in-depth look at these new galleries which you can do by clicking the images below.

Seen these at a couple of targets, but the soft rubber on skywarp still kills this mold for me; it will never be in the proper shape it should be, and like, why even make them out of soft rubber? was there no purple sprue being used?

Someone pointed this out to me and I can't not notice it now, but it's weird comparing the Seekers because the budget apparently keeps going down. A minor thing, sure, but kinda depressing that since Acid Storm from just last year they've lost paint apps on the chest, shins, and kneecaps on top of losing the partner figure.

You guys are fun.

So I am sorry if I kill the mood (see me as the little voice on the other side of the shoulder), but I did want to mention that not all TFs go up in value. Some do drop, and its usually the ones people care less about as time goes on. Like the Energon Line, the TF Go! line, the Alternators line and the Titanium line.

Energon line:

You guys are fun.

So I am sorry if I kill the mood (see me as the little voice on the other side of the shoulder), but I did want to mention that not all TFs go up in value. Some do drop, and its usually the ones people care less about as time goes on. Like the Energon Line, the TF Go! line, the Alternators line and the Titanium line.

Well, that was my other thought: these don't have collector value now, they probably won't when he has the money to get them, and by that time, some of the lost light crew (right? the ones he's looking at in these sets) will have good figures, so... win-win Image

Also, if those GO! combiners weren't such kibble-ridden pieces of garbage, I'd get them for $14

Sure, why not. I just meant that people should get what they want and if its not something they really want, then save for when that special item gets released :)

Sure, no prob, I've just been the victim of that regret many times before, and don't want others to suffer it :saint:

This is so tough! I totally get you. But there is also the regret that you bought something you didnt really need. And then something else comes along and you dont have the funds for it.

Or, you buy something in fear of regretting not to get it, and then you regret getting it because it is lackluster. I have been victim of that one (Prime Abominus and Systalker and Alternators Optimus and RTS Mindset and Movie Lockdown). How about you?

At least get the different colored ones like mirage and sunstreaker just for the variety, but if you can get them, you may as well, I get the distinct feeling we won't be seeing combiners for a while after this ;)

Probs won't. Argh, money, decisions :BOT:

Yeah, I chose to skip most of the last few years of generations figures ;)

you give the angel on my shoulder telling me not to buy these a hard time :BOT:

Just tryin' to help ;)

Well, I only do this for him because he wants to make a lost light combiner (cyclonus and company) and a good whack of them are being released as limb bots. If it's something he wants (it sounds like it is) he really should go for them, but maybe wait for an HTS promotion.

I really love sky lynx/sky stalker; one of my only beast hunter purchases; I personally like to think of them as a fembot, and give them skullgrins pickax - you should try it, let me know if it works for you.

I regret many of my purchases from my youth (BM Megatron instead of Magmatron - will never forgive that :-x ) and many from armada (lacking basic poseability - including botcon megazarak) and any lacking poseability or that suffer monkey-arm syndrome (sounds like a cool :CON: name 8-) )

I more regret not getting figures that I like now, since I've developed my sense of aesthetics and buying habits (BM blackarachnia or her recolors) and more of the energon combiners (which is why I'm getting almost everything from this line), but overall, not so much, I strictly adhere to my two rules, and will look through many threads, forums, videos and galleries to become as educated as possible on a figure before buying them.

My only immediate purchase (that comes to mind) was Salvia Prominon, after seeing a picture of her in one of the weekly updates, I immediately pre-ordered her and haven't looked back since (she's so beautiful  )

Fine, it's actually a terrible idea, you should skip it and live with the guilt and regret, of not getting it, forever [-(

It would have been awesome if the weapon accessory for Rodimus and Blackjack had an extra horizontal tab so that it could have stored on the backside of the figure like I have it shown in the picture below, which easily achieves Rodimus' more classic look sans chest flames. For these photos, I accomplished this by using a polyband which wraps around the weapon and the back piece though I'd much prefer a physical tab to do this.

I'm really surprised they didn't do this.

I will fall into the evil little fire-burning-bot on my other shoulder and get these guys. Combiners are too badass to skip even if there is doubt :BOT:

man when i saw that picture of rodimus with the fin on the back i was so happy, then i looked at the rest of the pictures and i was disappointed again. Such a simple retool but hasbros just to cheap & lazy to do it. Still a nice looking figure though, ill probably snag one if i see it

The sad part is that, there is a precise amount of room on the roof section to have the slots cut into it for the ax to rest in the hinged section. But this is generally how I feel about the rest of the re-shells, they could've done a lot more for them

Actually, it doesn't need additional slots, it just needs an extra horizontal tab on the opposite side of his weapon accessory from where the vertical tabs are so that it can tab into the existing hole. If I was going to have him on display, I'd be half tempted to buy an extra one just for his weapon accessory so that I could snap a tab off one, glue it on the other and then he'd be all set.

Just want to point out that Nonnef made a 3D printed upgrade that allows this, super cheap too!

Of course, you can also just pretend it's a different character than Rodimus altogether, like Excellion or Roadhandler.
