Last time, Seibertron.com brought you Masterpiece Bumblebee. But can you deal with Takara Tomy's next Transformers Masterpiece figure, MP-22 Ultra Magnus? The leader of the Autobots (albeit briefly) comes with two human sidekicks Daniel and Spike Witwicky, the cab can be detached from the trailer and is pretty much identical to MP-10 Optimus Prime's, the trailer is compatible with all Masterpiece cars released so far, and even most of their G1 predecessors! Also included are storable weapons and an additional face for expression changes, also capable of being stored in the figure itself, and a matrix chamber in its chest. The one image it does use from the animated movie has a Hasbro copyright over it. Something is definitely up with it!

So maybe Hasbro owns the rights to the Animated movie but is in agreement with Paramount that it won't be released at this time to avoid market confusion? Or maybe Hasbro owns the rights to still images from the Animated movie but Takara doesn't? Something is definitely odd.

I also don't understand why it says MP-10 on that page. Another oddity!

I thought the "History of Ultra Magnus" page was a little lacking.

Titanium Ultra Magnus, the 1st all-in-one transforming Magnus, should have been included on this page, but I wonder if it was neglected because Takara never got the Titanium series. Also, Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus should have been on there and Universe Ultra Magnus. It must have to do with which ones Japan got because they didn't get any of those. Hm, Classics and/or United Ultra Magnus should have been on there as well ... and Japan definitely got Takara Ultra Magnus.

It seems odd to me ... because I'm pretty sure they've done Action Masters or other figures that didn't see Japanese releases. I wonder why the change?

Yep ... Grimlock is a great example of this, of course without the non-Takara contributions there wouldn't have been much to show for the Grimlock line-up

Ah. Yes. The movie hasn't been released since 2006, so you've probably got something there.

It's been released elsewhere in the world (and on Blu-Ray as well) such as the UK (Metrodome) and Australia (Madman Entertainment) but I don't think it's been released since 2010. In the time since, it seems like there has been an absence of usage of imagery from the movie in addition to a lack of release. We've had a lengthy discussion about this in previous pages of this topic.

Really wish Exosuit Daniel was smaller, I don't understand why they went out of scale with him. If they shrunk him down to the size of Frenzy and Rumble he would have been perfect. It's not like he has any joints that wouldn't work if they were smaller.

I'm actually a little surprised to see God Magnus on there since he was a different character and only "Ultra Magnus" in the English version, yet the Grimlock page you also posted a pic of lacks RID Grimlock/CR Build Hurricane.

Hasbro's Energon Ultra Magnus, Universe "Battle in a Box" Ultra Magnus, BotCon 2012 SG Ultra Magnus, and TFS Ultra Mammoth are also absent (though, I could understand Takara not including the latter two).

Any of the rest of you have this version of Skywarp? Two of the ones that I got both had the same mold defect on his upper left forehead. There's a small bump in the plastic. I really want to swap heads with a Thundercracker but he's got a shiny painted finish and Skywarp has a plain plastic matte finish. Urgh.

Just want to know if it's a limited run that has this problem or if all MP-11SW Skywarps have this problem.

I have 4, but I've only opened 1. It has the same little bubble there. I would have never noticed it had I not seen this picture. Doesn't bother me. Must be common to all of them.

I wish the Decepticon symbols were consistent between the three. Same direction, same color, same outline. Oh well.

My two arrive Wednesday or Thursday, so... I'll also confirm. But it seems to be pretty consistent given the responses here.

That's usually why I have multiples of anything (because I sell figures). But with Skywarp it's because he's my favorite character. I usually buy 3 or 4 of each of him.

I may get a TRU Magnus if he's colored more like the G1 toy, but I'd still find it hard to go through with...and I'd be going off plan with my budget for the year. Yeah, I have one of those. :lol:

I kind of feel like I have to. The price points are exorbitant, but I definitely think in most cases you get what you pay for.

Still, for a favorite character the temptation to buy more than one is there. I almost did it with Prowl, but I resisted successfully.

Loving my new MP-11SW Skywarp, apart from the stupid wing insignias that are the opposite direction! Damn you Hasbro Asia!!

You know what these guys are missing? That's right Takara, their frickin leader!! Why Takara has taken so long and still not announced or released a new MP Megatron is beyond me.

I would have thought with the teasers for the 3rd party Apollyon (ie. no-Megatron) MP scaled figure, that this would have been the kick up the arse Takara needed. But still silence from them!!

I will just have to keep on waiting I guess.....

Let Soundwave lead. He was a better leader in Marvel UK G1 than Megatron ever was.
