I have to ask a question: did you have trouble with Skids falling over backwards? I don't know if I have him mis-transformed or something, but he seemed very back heavy. Some of your pics had him leaning quite a bit forward, but I didn't know if that was to get his guns all lined up or if you also had stability issues. With feet as big as Skids has, I'd think he would be more stable.
Thanks!

Many of them have been mis-assembled. Look at the figure's gray upper thigh pieces. If the left one has an "R" on it and the right one has an "L" on it, that's your problem. Luckily they pop right off so you can switch them without unscrewing anything or removing any pins. HOWEVER, even when they're assembled correctly, he's still a bit back-heavy due to his lack of "heels".
Play around with his legs some more; they have stiff joints and may bend more than you think. if you can get him into a sort of chicken-leg stance with his feet back as far as possible and his torso out over his toes, that helps.
He really just needs a piece of plastic to fold down on the backs of his feet; so many other figures have this I'm surprised they overlooked it on Skids.

Thanks for the compliments about the galleries. I'm glad you are enjoying them, Agamemnon.
As for Skids, unfortunately he has stability issues.

Man I so want to finish G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen's galleries. They're two of my favorite Transformers and are amongst the first Transformers to be poseable like action figures. One day ... maybe later this year.

I'm a big fan of those figures as well, and i'll be glad to see the gallery
On the Subject of skids stability, or lack of there for, have you tried pushing the lower leg behind the knee piece, for an example go to http://youtu.be/E1hAKCf3nZo?t=7m13s

More props for getting poses that look great in the galleries, Seibertron. Too bad for the stability issues. I like Skids a lot otherwise...

Skids is much better if you have the leg transformation correct. It's not really meant to be a double knee joint. I've had no stability problems with my Skids after I lock in the bottom "knee" joint. its an awesome toy! =D

The much-loved chatty bartender is a faithful reproduction in robot mode, while the vehicle mode is a truck with aesthetics resembling a truck from Earth, whereas Cosmos is a new design that reflects his original Generation One self, but with some IDW aesthetics thrown in the mix. Their pack-in partners, Flanker and Payload, are actually homages to Autobot Micromasters Sky High and Blast Master (who no longer forms the back end of a shuttle).

They arrived very quickly. I bought them on February 5th and had them in had 6 days later on the 11th.

My only qualm with these new Legends is that not all of them have head articulation. To the extent that Starscream and 'Bee can only look forward, the other articulation is awkward when trying to pose them dynamically.

Good for you for doing that and planning ahead. Looks like ill be overpaying as well in Marxh when I can squeeze them in my budget.

However, the lack of preorders anywhere worries me a lot. I really hope this doesn't mean they may become the latest 'Cancelled Wave Casualties'. Years later we still have no Scout Rumble & Frenzy, and I'd hate for the same thing to happen to these guys.

Yikes!! I hope you can write that expense off on your taxes.
Hasbro needs to get with it, they're just leaving money on the table. The shelves at all the major retailers are devoid of any Transformers besides Beast Hunters and Construct-Bots. Don't they know there's another Baytastic film rolling into a cinema near you, its time to sell, sell, sell!

What really boggles my mind is why these guys, and Skids etc aren't available on any of the normal web outlets. Did they only make five of each figure? I think the best we can hope for is another Windcharger/Grapple scenario where we see them in the summer finally at discount stores.
When all is said and done I would really love for some one at Hasbro to explain their distribution strategies because I'm just completely lost as to why they seem to hate making money.

Except for we never saw Rumble and Frenzy in Hasbro packaging before nor did Hasbro ever have Rumble and Frenzy on display at a convention suck as BotCon or SDCC like we saw with Swerve and Cosmos last summer.

I wouldn't panic about this until you see Age of Extinction figures on the shelves. If they're not out by May, I would worry. I'm expecting them to be part of retailers' spring/Easter reset.

But they were going to make Scout Class Demolition Rumble for the Reveal the Shield line:Seibertron wrote:kirbenvost wrote:Awesome galleries of some awesome figures. I personally can't wait to have Swerve in my collection, and Cosmos is great too.

We weren't going to get Frenzy (or "the red and black one"), just Demolition Rumble, who himself was ultimately canceled, having only made it to a few packaged samples instead of mass production.btskillet wrote:So your saying we will see them at target after they reset there shelves soon???? Don't know why you people are concerned, I can get them from our local import shop here in The Netherlands.
If we in a silly small country in Europe can get them I'm very sure the US can get them for a normal price.
I'll be getting that Cosmos, looks amazing!

I have been buying an inappropriately large number of them, relative to my budget. Partly because I like building my own TFs, partly because their weapons and other gubbins are compatible with standard TFs (just finished 'upgrading' Armada Tidalwave's cannons, and just found that CB Megatron's extra bits look good on FoC Grimlock).

Furthermore, remember how we saw all those bot shot reveals late last year? That line was dead in the water by last summer and yet we still get new reveals that have never seen retail. Why? Maybe it has something to do with them taking a "loss" on that line and writing it off?? Same thing here.
I would start to worry about the last wave of Prime legions and commanders too. We should have seen them on the shelves by now. We are almost three months out from the last wave release. and again, with the new redesign of the larger toys, what is the purpose for legion and commander class at this point?
Posted by Primeultimus on February 14th, 2014 @ 7:56am CST
If you want them I suggest you buy them now. I am worried about the later waves showing up anywhere considering that this wave was supposed to be released in October and is so hard to come by.
It is a shame because I fear they share the same fate as the last wave of RTS Scouts. Perhaps a discount store release is in the cards but may not happen.

Takara/Tomy does a way better job on their paint applications than Hasbro.
Definitely, but they also cost a butt load more, which is unfortunate.

Hasbro Starscream also looks better since his deco matches the design that his toy was based on, whereas Takara's goes the uncreative route of just recycling the old slavish G1 deco.dragons wrote:Hasbro megatron looks better mainly for for origin look evey other bot takra has the win I don't buy legends don't bother much

I guess, in this case, it would mostly depend on what sort of things you feel are must haves. We all have our differing views about "must haves", so what sort of things do you see as a must have?Optimizzy wrote:Honestly, I've never seen something made exclusive to Takara/Tomy that I just had to have. Same goes for these. The paint looks nice but really, but not for me. Which is what is usually the case. I've rarely seen anything exclusive to Japan that I thought I just HAD to have. I'm just not on the Takara/Tomy is better than Hasbro boat. While I see the paint apps are better, they are also not toys really. If the stickers come off and the paint chips for the prices they charge I don't want them. Of course, theses are geared towards the collectors market I'm guessing so that is a lot of it.

If they ever do release Skids, that is. Thus far, the Japanese Generations lineup has gone from Sandstorm to Waspinator to Rhinox to the Mini-Con Assault Team to Armada Starscream, skipping over a bunch of figures Hasbro released and this isn't the first time this has happened (Takara skipped the FOC Wreckers, for instance).LordTwann wrote:I've never picked up any if the takara variants since they're so much more expensive. But I'm trying to patiently wait for their variant on Skids. I think with what he's going for on eBay the Takara version will end up being cheaper and there's been no word on if there will be more of that wave coming.
