Gears looks weird, like his head's too small or too low. The package art not even remotely resembling the actual figure doesn't help.
I kinda want that Venin (Bugly!) but I don't have a need for an acid green jet. Why does it seem like I only ever want half of the figures in these things? Partner the little bugs with the big ones, Hasbro!

Anyone else think Gears' head looks like a hybrid between Gears and Brawn? I really hope Hasbro doesn't cheap out and use this head for Brawn.

Oh well. I'm still gonna get them. I've been really digging the new Legends figures, and I aint stoppin' now!

sadly, i can easily see them doing this. make him green and yellow and hed be more brawn than he is gears right now.Seibertron wrote:Anyone else think Gears' head looks like a hybrid between Gears and Brawn? I really hope Hasbro doesn't cheap out and use this head for Brawn.

It's the lack of red paint on Gears' head. The head was sculpted to have the little red grooves that the package art has, but they were left unpainted in silver, making them barely noticeable and rendering Gears' head as looking less like Gears' head and more like Brawn's head.Noideaforaname wrote:Gears looks weird, like his head's too small or too low. Speaking of which,
I have this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I can't recall for 100% certainty, but it's telling me that I think I vaguely remember hearing about some plan of Hasbro's to redeco this Gears as Brawn using that head.Seibertron wrote:Anyone else think Gears' head looks like a hybrid between Gears and Brawn? But, I also have this other nagging feeling that's telling me that I also vaguely remember hearing that said plans for Brawn didn't pan out.
I wish I could remember one or the other, or both, to be sure on either.

RiddlerJ wrote:I think Venin is actually supposed to be G1 Venom. From what I heard, a last minute change from Thundercracker to Acid Storm forced a different color scheme on Venin as well.
That's indeed the case, to offset the amount of blue already in the line. Thundercracker will still be released next year, albeit without a partner.
And Acid Storm oddly appeals to me in this form.

Our newest gallery roundup consists of the newest wave of Generations Deluxes, which is wave wave 4. The makeup of this assortment is 2x of Crosscut, Jhiaxus, Nightbeat and last, but certainly not least...Windblade!
Crosscut is a redeco and slight remold of the IDW Generations Skids mold from 2013, making this the second reuse of the mold and the first of the remolds to not be tied to movieverse. (You can see Skids gallery here, and info on Rollbar, here.)
Jhiaxus is not only a redeco of an existing mold, but a rather substantial remolding of it, too. (The origin mold, Generations Armada Starscream, can be seen here.) Jhiaxus first made his appearance as a Decepticon villain in Marvel's 1993 comic tie in, Transformers G2. The shortlived run lasted just about a year, but in that short period of time and since then, fans have been wanting a legit Jhiaxus figure and this guy is it.
Nightbeat's another classic character and while this newest version sadly doesn't feature the G1 original's Headmaster gimmick, it does retain that cool flame deco! Nightbeat is a redeco and remold of the IDW Generations Bumblebee/Goldbug (Goldfire) figure mold from 2013. You may note that his comic uses the RTS Jazz design, while the toy does not. (A point of contention for some fans.)
And finally, Windblade. This figure was made for the fans, by the fans! After a poll with various questions, Hasbro was given the criteria the fans demanded out of a figure and it had to be female and she had to be a jet. Hasbro listened and delivered, and Windblade is one of their most unique creations in recent history. From her striking Japanese inspired Kabuiki-esque look, to her curves and sharp edges. Speaking of sharp edges, she touts a killer sword that's just awesome to behold.
Speaking of Windblade, that's where we'll start. Click on any of the images, below, to be taken to that figure's full gallery:

Also, has anybody tried supergluing her heels? I've watched the reviews, they wouldn't look to awful permanently fixed in vehicle mode.

The whole Chinese Geisha look and feel with the face paint is amazing. With AOE having a whole spin of that culture it definitely ties in very nicely. Detailing alone is enough for me... Considering Hasbro's history of missing the fine details... This is probably one of my new favorites...
Hasbro Toy Shop also now has her back available for pre-order / order now. 20% coupon helps!

It's actually Japanese Kabuki theater themed. Far different.

Oh yeah, totally, I'm not arguing with you, just pointing out a fact
I really am excited to get her, hoping a bit of superglue will fix her heels.

Ever tried the Pledge "FloorCare"? I have a bottle about to try on some my ROTF Bruticus and Superion. Other than the shiny parts seems less lethal...

Tried it on ball joints before, multiple coats, but it never really worked (My technique is to use electrical tape). I don't think making the heels permanently extended will make her jet mode too horrible looking.

Venin is a rubbery mess! Almost all of the plastic is soft to the point of being rubber. It's like he's half decoy or something.

Have patience, the retailers are really dragging on this. Meijer and Target have been the best bet in Indiana, but even then Ionly started seeing these figures a few weeks ago. No sign of Gears yett

I actually outfitted them as they came, when I first bought them, but Suppressor kept making Cliffy fall over, so I gave up and swapped them out. Not sure why they chose to weapon swap those two, but Acid Storm and Gears are just straight repaints of Scream and Swerve.RiddlerJ wrote:I wonder how many people gave the rifle that came with Cliffjumper to Nemesis Prime. This particular incarnation of Brainstorm is based on Nick Roche's design for More Than Meets The Eye even though that character is not a headmaster. He is also the first and so far only headmaster of the Generations line while being only the second Brainstorm figure after the original G1 toy.

No, no, none of that matters. How does autocorrect accept Chomedome, which Chome isn't even a word, and replace Chromedome with it?

The other character you'll see below is a heavy remold of PRiD Arcee, also known as Windblade's bodyguard, Generations Chromia. While she is a remold of PRiD Arcee, she bears startlingly few similarities, other than the obvious alt-mode of a motorcycle. Included with the Deluxe sized Chromia are her pistol and Series 2 no. 0022 Chromia comic book.

The open hand looks better, but I wish mine was a closed hand. I feel more confident about it not breaking. Can the weapon handles push trough all the way on the closed hand versions because there's a stop in the opens hand ones?

yea, I shaved the stop off at the bottom and it can hold the weapons fine. I don't feel like it's going to break. but do be careful cause it is quite thin.
