We don't need a bigger Tankor. We need Cyberverse Maximals and Predacons, not giant Deluxes and Voyager (unless they make one for Optimal Optimus).
Rattrap? Approximate scale? The toy comes all the way up to Dinobot's chest!Noideaforaname wrote:They put all this love and effort into the Beast Wars gang --getting them in approximate scale, making them look awesome, designing Rattrap in a way that lets him stand up in rat mode-- but when they get to the Beast Machines guy it's like "whatevs, he's not orange-and-black this time, that's good enough."

This is one of those cases where the original mold wins the scale proportions.

Barely. He's taller than the Optimus Primal figure seen in the above pics.Noideaforaname wrote:"Approximate." Rattrap's still the short one.

If you think $10-15 (depending on where you live) is reasonable, yes.

Perfect (Dinobot & Rattrap were always my favorite BW's characters), that's just my price range. Thank you!

All you have to do now is FIND them since no store that isn't online seems to be getting these in.Screaming_star91 wrote:Mindmaster wrote:If you think $10-15 (depending on where you live) is reasonable, yes.

True, I'll just have to wait, It might take a few months but I refuse to pay anymore than $15.00.

Siger wrote:Well yeah I already thought Rattrap was way too big and Tankor way too small from the first reveal pics. The rat mode was almost as big as Voyager Rhinox's rhino mode. Man that's a big scary rat! You are right about not needing a voyager size Tankor, or in fact anymore Tankors. It's not an interesting or a good looking TF overall. Why not a better Cheetor or a transmetal one first? Why not a new Dinobot to go along with the new movie Dinowave?

Kudos to Hasbro for keeping the fires lit for this character. Any time they'd like to throw Beast Machines Thrust and Jetstorm some Generations love, I'll be right there to support them. Deluxe Class and all!
I genuinely would love a neo-classic Beast Machines Thrust and Jetstorm

The tank mode, however, is more show-accurate on the original Basic class Tank Drone figure (and moreso on its Beast Wars Returns Vehicon Tankor redeco).
Though, I understand why the tank mode is lacking the show-accuracy department, as it looks like they tried to replicate the cartoon model's transformation to tank mode without any of the cheating the CGI model uses, using only parts that appear in the toy's robot mode as they appear in its robot mode, instead of trying to simulate the slight morphing that his cartoon transformation undergoes when converting robot mode to tank mode. The result is a tank mode that appears to be made from the robot mode's parts arranged in how they ought to be for the tank mode, but since that isn't what the tank mode looked like in the cartoon (again, thanks to the slight morphing of the CGI model), the tank mode isn't as show-accurate as it attempted to be.

And yes, updates for Thrust and Jetstorm would be much appreciated.

We lovingly call that "filler" line Transformers Classics.
Little did we know, it started a sweeping movement, a rebirth of what had come before. Before we could look to the future, Hasbro went back to the past and brought us these really nice updates of some of our favorite characters/figures. One of those updated characters was Optimus Prime, of course. Who knew eight years later that the Optimus mold would have so many uses? (10 as of right now!)
Which brings us to our newest galleries: Henkei Convoy Clear Version (AKA Crystal Convoy, the former is the official moniker, while the latter came from the fans. I think Crystal fits better) and United Ultra Magnus!

I have 10 Seekers. I really think it's enough...
For the Classics mold, that is! Bring on more Seekers!

That is very true, I love the seeker mold, and there should be enough for an army
Plus with the fact that there is so many prime mold usages, I can get a hold of one

united magnus is bittersweet though. im assuming most people would be buying it for the city commander, but those white legs and silver thighs kinda ruin it. which sucks because hes much nicer than classics UM. s'ok with me though since i have both.

I never had City Commander, and at this point, I wouldn't buy it. The set's somewhat outdated. I have United Magnus for the sole purpose of being White Magnus, and to serve as a nice counterpoint to United Black Optimus.
I'm surprised no one has come up with Nova/Nemesis winged backpacks for either of those guys.

TG-30 Waspinator is a Deluxe Class figure that features a darker metallic green than his Hasbro counterpart. That dark metallic green is highlighted by a metallic gold as opposed to Hasbro's yellow.
TG-31 Rinox is a Voyager Class figure that has a bronze colored hide when compared to the Hasbro figure.

But I got both Hasbro and Takara Waspinators with the intent of Frankensteining them into the perfect Waspinator.
Posted by shajaki on July 8th, 2014 @ 3:11pm CDT
i still plan on getting both. are there pics somewhere of someone else piecing together a waspinator already? id like to see that. damn shame takara dropped the ball on these guys though. wonder what they were thinking? i reaaally hope someone does a predacon rhinox, exclusive or otherwise.Sabrblade wrote:Glad I got Takara's Rhinox over Hasbro's in-accurate gray sand version, shininess be darned.

Incidentally, is Waspy getting a re-release here? I never saw him in stores, and I dimly recall there being mention of a restock, but I dunno if that was just for Skids or something.

That's exactly what I did. I used the center bits from the Hasbro version and combined them with the Takara version. I then applied some yellow and black paint to it in the appropriate places to replace the gold and give him the extra details/finishing touches such as the black bit in his diamond crest thingy on his head. I also went over his robot head's eyes with a clear metallic blue to give it a more show-accurate color/appearance. I also added in the black stripes on his robot mode head's antennae. He's pretty much spot on perfect now.

That's an oxymoron, since Takara's is clearly colored chocolate caramel while Hasbro's is more like diarrhea (apologies to any persons at or affiliated Hasbro offended by this comparison).Siger wrote:Hasbro wins IMO. I don't like SH*% colored Rhynox.

Hardly. I'll stick up for fans of the pro-Hasbro versions. The shiny weird brown color was a big turn off for me as well as the overly dark colors on Waspinator. I would have liked Hasbro's version to be a little bit darker in Rhino mode, but I certainly don't mind it's colors, especially since he's in robot mode most of the time anyways and not to mention that it more-or-less matches the same shade as the Hasbro version instead of coming up with an out-of-left-field color on Takara's versions.
For those of you defending Takara's version, I get that you want to defend them for what you perceive as the more show accurate coloration, but those aren't right either. Shiny Rhinox wasn't in any episode of Beast Wars that I watched!
Hopefully these two will get the proper slavish cartoon accurate color schemes at a later date so that both parties can be satisfied.

That is my point exactly regarding the Takara version of Rhinox specifically. Wrong color and it's shiny. Until we get a show accurate version from Takara or Hasbro, I'll take Hasbro's Rhinox any day.

Pale tan? Hasbro's is much more a mottled grey than anything else. I just held my Hasbro Rhinox up to the screen, and it matches the pic color you just provided VERY well. So... you should let it go, I guess?

I'm going to agree with Sabrblade. Takara's Rhinox colors are miles better, and it have tight knees.

Hardly oxymoronic, I've never seen grey colored diarrhea. Show accurate or not is not my concern here, although watching clips on Youtube shows that he is sometimes pretty grey and sometimes pretty brown. You can blame that on the inconsistency of the show. The only thing better for me on Takara's version are the guns. Also agree with Megatronus that the shininess is a big turn off.

Generations TG-12 Air Raid features a wildly different deco than the Hasbro offering including paint and plastic colors. This is accounted for by the fact that the Hasbro figure was originally intended to be Fireflight but changed at the last minute to Air Raid which makes Takara's offering the true Air Raid.
Arms Micron AM-29 Shockwave with Bido was the first use of this mold in Japan. Shockwave has added 5mm ports on his wings to accomodate his Arms Micron partner Bido which not only serves as Shockwave's weapon but also transforms into a rhinoceros beetle. It is unfortunate however that Bido only serves as a hand held weapon instead of Shockwave's signature built in weapon hand.
If you enjoy this mold be on the lookout for our upcoming Botcon 2014 galleries which features the newest use of this mold, Brimstone. Until then click on the images below to view the full Air Raid and Shockwave galleries.
