The fandom seems abuzz with opinions on the upcoming Transformers Titans Return line, as we've seen from the conversation following the stock images we reported on recently. So here at Seibertron.com we've dipped back into where a lot of those characters started!

Check out our new galleries for the Decepticon Headmasters from all the way back in G1, and the year 1987: backwards self-talking Weirdwolf, tooth grinding fighter Skullcruncher, and master of dark forces Mindwipe! Each of course joined by their Nebulon partners Monzo, Grax, and Vorath respectively. All of these characters will be receiving updated toys in the upcoming Transformers Titans Return line later this year. You can view the galleries by clicking on any of the images below.

If you've been keeping count, this update brings us to 3,996 galleries. You know what that means? Only 4 left until the big milestone! What do you think the gallery will be? What would you want it to be?

I was wondering what was up with the the gigantic eyes/visors the Headmasters universally had, then I saw this:

Never imagined they actually hid the faces on these things! That's pretty impressive.

I remember loving these as a kid, but look at that impressive articulation. Hardhead had a grand total of 6 points of articulation (shoulders, wrists, and toes) and all were required for transformation. These guys have slightly more in that they have elbows and knees. So happy for the updates that are coming. It's also hard to go Takara screen accurate on their updates since I fell in love with the toys, not the characters since I'm American and didn't know about the comics until much later. These toys and their bios are the only thing I really know about them (Rebirth doesn't count). I always loved how Mindwipe looked like a cross between Ratbat and Soundwave. Not to mention transformers with cockpits!

in spite of not being too fond of animal transformers (the concept bugs me) these guys were amongst my faves. Had weird wolf and mindwipe and I struggle to recall if I ever had seen skullcruncher in the shops as a kid.

weird wolf is still in quite a good condition. Mind wipe got quartered in an epic battle or two.

We gave you a taste of Galvatron in the new Titans Return line, so we decided to head back in time - time being the key word - to 2006 and the one and only e-Hobby exclusive that represents in plastic form Galvatron II!

The character is an alternate timeline version of the original reformatting of Megatron, in the Takara release of the toy colour scheme, a triumphant Unicron's servant who rules over Earth, but forced once more to complete the Chaos-Bringer's task of destroying Cybertron - as seen in Marvel's Transformers comics. The toy in the gallery below is the only official version of this character, and includes new stickers, new Japanese sound clips, and a Creation Matrix in green diecast. Check it out!

I shoulda bought this guy when he was new, but I opted Mr.Purple. Also, it bugs me how Mr.Purple is constantly mistaken for the E-Hobby version of the two when this fella is actually the exclusive 8-)

Yes he does, which I didn't know until I opened my sealed Galvatron II yesterday. I was expecting the unaltered face, but should've have known it'd be the other. Sticker placement was a little confusing since the instructions were a little different from the original.

I really wanna get a G1 Galvatron, I don't know what it is, but while the first time I saw it I was repelled by how inaccurate it was, over time, I've come to be really enchanted by his design, specially after I learned he actually had hips AND knees that could move!
At first I thought "hey, I'll try to get the beautifully accurate purple one!" But I've come to terms with the grey toy, so really, all I want is one in good condition, regardless of the colors.

Used to love him as a kid. Having missed out on the first year releases home and ultra manus were my leaders till PM Optimus prime came along.

Seeing him shot in such details makes me ponder as to how I handled the disconnect between the cartoon and toy.

his leg joints did indeed mean he was amongst the most articulated toys of his day. Also did quite enjoy his gun mode as ridiculous as it was.

For those unaware, the new sticker decals included with the Galvatron II figure are based on an appearance of Galvatron as seen in this TV Magazine story page by Studio OX:

Image

Though, at the time of this image's publishing, the Galvatron II character hadn't existed yet (he wouldn't exist until Simon Furman's creating him for Marvel G1 in 1990) so this early appearance of Galvatron fighting alongside Megatron, at a point that preceded both the 1986 movie and season 3, was either an intentional ruse meant to avoid spoiling Megatron's upgrade into Galvatron, or a case of the Japanese artists and writers honestly being unaware at the time that Megs and Galvy were supposed to be the same character, which is possible but we simply don't know.

With this e-HOBBY release taking inspiration from the pre-Movie Japanese appearances of Galvatron, one can think of the early Galvatron appearances as now being appearances of Galvatron II instead. Retcons!

The vintage Galvatron needs no matrix on a chain, since his is on the inside.

We have another treat for you all, Seibertronians, as site owner Seibertron has taken out some Platinum Edition toys to show off. This time? Decepticon purple space t-rex Trypticon! Along with Full Tilt and Brunt, the ship/base/muncher wanders into the Platinum line, with a tweaked deco, a new box, comparison shots with original G1 version - stay tuned for more on that too...

With the current Titans Return iteration of the same character at retail - whose gallery you can find here - this is the best time for a dive into recent nostalgia, before the main event. Check out the sample images below, and click on any of them to access the full gallery!

While photographing the HasLab crowdfunded War for Cybertron Trilogy UNICRON, I decided it was best to also knock out galleries for Platinum Unicron with Kranix as well as Encore Unicron of Light with Bug. I figured when else was I going to transform all of these Unicrons again in the near future? Platinum Unicron is the newest release of the "G1" styled Armada Unicron with a lighter shade of "blue" for the planet mode parts and includes Kranix which is essentially the same deco as the version which came with the 2011 Amazon exclusive Unicron. The Encore "Unicron of Light" figure is meant to be an homage of the Lucky Draw release, of which we had the pleasure of photographing WAY back in 2010 (courtesy of fellow Seibertronian JRFitzpatrick7). Without further ado, check out the highlights below of Encore Unicron of Light and Platinum Edition Unicron!

Green Unicron is really cool, but it suffers from some severe mold degradation. 'Tis what happens when its the latest release of a most that's been used so much. Still, it's really cool to have what is essentially a "Good Guy Unicron toy", what with this not actually being Unicron himself but an energy doppelganger made up of Mini-Cons.

Platinum Edition Unicron, on the other hand, I was more than happy to skip. Lazy reuse of the Amazon deco, but made worse with that baby blue. Say what one will about what shade of blue/gray Unicron is, we can all agree that he isn't that shade. So glad they did not use it for the HasLab figure.

Still, it is cool that you got his eyes changed from red to green. Nice work. ;)^

Surprisingly, my Green Unicron feels more stable than the Platinum Unicron. It's easily the worst of my bunch (though Energon Unicron hasn't faired that well either). My Platinum Unicron suffered from the right side of the crotch piece constantly falling off as well as one of the planet maw shell wing pieces on his back.

I absolutely agree. It's a really bad blue. The Amazon one is a weird blue also. I don't know what color I think Unicron's planet mode should be, but it's not any of those for sure. I still am not a big fan of the shade used for HasLab Unicron either. I wish they had done something unique with it that had a bluish gray swirly sheen to it or something. Just something unique so that it looked grayer in some lights and bluer in other lights.

Sabrblade wrote:Still, it is cool that you got his eyes changed from red to green. Nice work. ;)^

That was the big draw for Platinum Unicron. He came with the green eyes ... but it's too bad that the LED light is still red instead of green. The pics of his head opened up was me trying to fix the light up feature. Out of the box, mine didn't work. I have no idea what I did to fix it, but when I reassembled the head the lights worked. I'm assuming there was a pinched wire or something.

One peculiar oddity about Platinum Unicron is that they changed the orientation of the batteries for just that release. Every other Unicron I have had the batteries facing the same direction, but just Platinum Unicron has the batteries so one is facing positive up and the other is facing negative up.

My ideal shade would be a nice halfway between the blue of the Amazon and HasLab Unicrons and the gray of Welcome to Transformers 2010 Unicron.

You might just need to tighten the screws, though trust me I had to play around with them so that they would sit properly and not topple over. I got it to work for my galleries, but I dont know about leaving them on a shelf on those stands unless you superglued the base of the legs of one of the stands in place.

Seibertron is revving up gallery production again! As always, they're the most comprehensive, striking galleries around, and this time, he's going all the way back to G2! Given that the just released Legacy line has a Leader class figure of the Autobot commander Optimus in an updated version of his G2 form (which you can see a gallery of here), it seemed only natural to create galleries of the bot who inspired it.

In these new galleries, we not only get Legacy Leader Prime's inspiration, 1995's G2 Laser Optimus Prime (and all his light-up gimmick glory) , but we get a couple of rare redecos of the mold. The rarest version of that G2 mold is Laser Ultra Magnus, released by e-hobby back in 2006. The Laser Ultra Magnus figure came in a box meant for Laser Prime, and even included his stickers. It used the tooling of the original redeco of the mold, RID Scourge, but was a completely different deco based on G1 Ultra Magnus' inner robot. The next is of Year of the Goat Optimus Prime, a partially translucent plastic version of the mold released in 2015 in the Platinum Edition line (which still included the light up electronic features).

And now on to the galleries! Please click on any picture below to feast your eyes on all this G2 and G2 inspired goodness.

I'm probably the only person on the planet who willingly bought the Year of the Goat figure with the express purpose of using it as a rust-covered ghost version of RiD Scourge/CR Black Convoy, what with how much its deco is recycled wholecloth from Scourge's deco (all of the black plastic, dark gray plastic, and even the silver chrome on the trailer).

Hopefully I can circle back to Power of the Primes soon. I was working on those galleries a little over 4 years ago right up until the day my Mom died. It de-railed my gallery process for quite some time unfortunately. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things soon. I might put more of a focus on finishing up older galleries over new ones, but we'll see. I have hundreds of half finished galleries from the past 12 years on my laptop that I really need to get finished up at long last and posted. These 3 Laser Optimus related galleries were ones that I started back in 2015 when Year of the Goat Optimus came out, but I never finished the galleries until this past weekend. I figured if I didn't do them now with motivation from Legacy Laser Optimus, I never would get them done.

Anyone in particular from Power of the Primes that you're hoping to see?

Those are good pics for new galleries. Plus new versions of them have just come out, so it's a good time for comparison shots.

Elita and the femmes are a great fit for new galleries since some of those are the first time those characters have gotten new figures. You could have a lot of fun staging scenes with Shockwave, Alpha Trion and OP.

Inspiration hit me recently after watching some of my favorite YouTubers while packaging up customer orders at the Seibertron Store. In addition, it recently dawned on my that I started this journey posting Transformers galleries almost 20 years ago. Time goes by way too fast and there are some notable omissions from our Transformers toy galleries. So here we are today at the beginning of a new wave of Transformers Generation One galleries after almost 7 years since the last batch.

Late last night, I finally posted galleries of Transformers Encore Metroplex. Released in 2008 by Takara Tomy, this toy was a reissue of the original version of G1 1986 Metroplex (including rubber wheels and chrome legs).

It's been a long journey from start to finish for this set of galleries. I began work on Encore Metroplex's gallery 10 years ago in the summer of 2013 when Generations Titan Class Metroplex was released. In 2017, I started it up again when I did comparison shots of Platinum Trypticon when Titans Return Titan Class Trypticon was released. Long story short: life got in the way and I was unable to finish the Metroplex related galleries until now.

Included with Metroplex are his friends (and accessories) Scamper, Six-Gun and Slammer. Metroplex transforms from battle station to city mode to giant robot and back! Six-Gun is formed from various Metroplex blasters and accessories. Slammer is a tank that transforms into a tower (and didn't get a robot mode until 35 years later in the War for Cybertron Kingdom toy line). Scamper is a small black car that transforms into a robot mode.

Since this was the Encore version, I only did comparisons with other versions of Metroplex as well as Hasbro's Platinum Edition Trypticon. The full G1 Metroplex gallery and several others will be posted over the next few weeks. So stay tuned!

You can check out the galleries of Encore Metroplex, Six-Gun, Scamper and Slammer by clicking on the links and images below.

I feel honored to have been one of the first people to click on these galleries! By pure happenstance, there were no views yet on Six Gun or Slammer's galleries, so as I clicked through them the image counter said "1" for many of the pics. I've never perused a gallery with such low numbers before!

When I found my Metroplex a while back, I checked here for reference pictures and was surprised that there was not yet a gallery for him. It's nice to be here to see it happen. Excellent pictures of a great looking Transformer, Seibertron!

Fresh from the Seibertron.com gallery vault! Originally photographed back in 2016, Seibertron.com has recently released a series of galleries featuring the individual Transformers Seacons from the 2009 commemorative reissue of Piranacon. The galleries provide an in-depth look at each individual figure, with comparison photos to the original 1988 version of the Seacons, as well as Timelines Piranacon and Beast Wars II God Neptune.

The galleries showcase Snaptrap, Nautilator, Overbite, Skalor, Tentakil, and Seawing, providing detailed images and information on each figure. Snaptrap, the leader of the Seacons, is a turtle-like creature with a cannon on his back. Nautilator is a lobster-like creature. Overbite is a shark-like creature with a menacing set of jaws. Skalor, a giant coelacanth creature with arms and legs. Tentakil, a squid-like creature, can ensnare his enemies with his many tentacles. Seawing, a manta ray with legs, can fly through the air.

While the updated decos for some of them, Piranacon's newly chromed sword, and "remastered" stickers make the 2009 reissue of the Seacons a must-have for collectors, those looking for additional articulation may be disappointed. The toy molds for the newer versions are the same as the original versions and do not include any extra articulation. However, the comparison photos to the original 1988 version of the Seacons, as well as other versions of Piranacon from the Transformers Timelines and Beast Wars II series, allow fans to see how these figures have evolved over time. If you're looking for new "Generations" versions of the Seacons, look no further than the Generations Selects Seacons released in 2020.

These galleries of the individual Transformers Seacons from the 2009 commemorative reissue of Piranacon provide a comprehensive look at each figure and their abilities, characteristics, and place in the Seacons' hierarchy. While some of the deco changes from the originals may be a downside for some fans, the updated decos and updated stickers make the figures a valuable addition to any Transformers collection.

Seibertron.com has just released brand new galleries featuring some of the most iconic figures from the Generation 1 era - Metroplex with Six-Gun, Scamper, and Slammer, and Trypticon with Full-Tilt and Brunt.

These figures are not only beloved by fans but are also significant in the Transformers mythos. Metroplex, the Autobot City, was one of the largest Transformers of his time, towering over other figures. The original Generation 1 toy had two versions, one with rubber wheels and the other with plastic wheels, and both are included in the galleries. The plastic wheels version is our "main" Metroplex gallery because the rubber wheels version was covered in-depth in the gallery of the Encore Metroplex reissue.

Metroplex's companions, Six-Gun, Scamper, and Slammer, are also included in the galleries. Six-Gun, in particular, is notable for being made up of six smaller guns that combine to form his robot mode. Scamper is a fully transformable black car. Slammer is a non-transforming drone-like tank.

Trypticon, the Decepticon dinosaur, is another impressive figure featured in the galleries. He can transform into a robotic space station, a city, and of course, his dinosaur form. Alongside Trypticon are his loyal minions, Full-Tilt and Brunt, who add to the overall menacing presence of the figure. Full-Tilt is a full transformable purple vehicle, comparable to Scamper. Brunt is non-transforming tank made of various accessories from Trypticon and has a light-up feature on his cannon.

Whether you're a longtime fan of these iconic Transformers figures or discovering them for the first time, Seibertron.com's galleries are a must-see for any collector or enthusiast. Check out our extensive galleries of each of these exciting G1 Transformers action figures below by clicking on any of the images.

That Trypticon clearance price. ;)^ I think we sometimes forget things going on clearance isn't just a modern thing. Some of the biggest, most sought after figures from back in the day also went on clearance just like the equivalent figures today.

Seibertron.com recently posted new galleries of two awesome Transformers figures from the Heroes of Cybertron and SCF toy lines: Metroplex and Black Zarak. These non-transforming figures are sure to excite collectors with their high level of detail and quality craftsmanship.

The Heroes of Cybertron toy line was first introduced in 2001 and features small non-transforming figures of various Transformers characters in their classic forms. Metroplex, featured in the Seibertron.com gallery, stands at about four inches tall and features intricate detailing on his chestplate, weapons, and other parts of his body. The cartoon styling on this figure make it a must-have for any Transformers fan.

Black Zarak is another popular figure from Takara's SCF toy line. This menacing figure stands at just under four inches tall and captures the dark essence of the character. The figure's intricate detailing and ominous presence make it a great addition to any collection. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to take comparison photos with the original Black Zarak (which was sold before obtaining the SCF version, and this toy was sold a few years ago prior to the Generations Selects version). It is roughly the same size as Metroplex.

Seibertron.com's galleries showcase the level of detail and craftsmanship that have made these figures popular among collectors. The galleries feature multiple angles of the figures and highlight their paint jobs, styling, size, and more, allowing fans to fully appreciate the figures' design and to determine if these are figures that they would like to add to their collections.

Overall, the new galleries of Heroes of Cybertron Metroplex and SCF Black Zarak on Seibertron.com are sure to please Transformers fans and collectors alike. With their attention to detail and high level of quality, these figures are a must-have for any fan of the franchise.
