This week, Seibertron.com brings you a look back at two of the drones in the fairly divisive animated series that followed the Maximals and Predacons' (more or less) return to their homeplanet of Cybertron. Vehicons, Basic class, and the springboard for two of the main Generals, the tank drone and motorcycle drone are smaller versions of the ones used for Tankor and Thrust (and the template for the Generations Tankor figure), and true troop builders. Also part of the Battle for the Spark monicker, you can check them out in their galleries by clicking on any of the images below!

The Cycle Drone toy was named "Motorcycle Drone" and the Aero Drone toy was named "Sonic Attack Jet". As a kid, these names registered to me as the "wrong" names as they weren't what they were called in the show, which named the drones a full year before the toyline got did.

Well delta, I'm throwing you a rope so you don't fall. I couldn't agree more. This line has always been one of my favs for it's pure toyeticness, and has been poopooed over the years, 'cause people just don't understand.Delta Magnus wrote:Actually I'll go out on a limb and say Beast Machines was one of the most underrated toylines in general.
Can't wait for more of these galleries. Thanks Seibs!
@ Decepticon Stryker - they are indeed Legends size. they were Basic class, which is the same scale and price point as Scouts and now Legends.

Decepticon Stryker wrote:Also is it me, or does the tank drone look like it's legends class size? It looks really small, even in comparison to the other basic class figures.
Yup, he's about as big as today's Legends Class toys.
Decepticon Stryker wrote:Wait a minute.. Who's that lighter blue Jetstorm? I can't seem to find him in any of the galleries.
He is an aero drone, the mindless army that makes up Jetstorm's ait team. I am looking forward to the gallery sice I am currently writing a "top 5 best troop builders" list and he is on there.
And yeah Shajaki, the scale in that line is a nightmare. What I find really sucks is that Hasbro seems to homage how messed up it is by giving us a deluxe Tankor recently who is as big as rattrap. WTF?!

Aero Drone or Sonic Attack Jet, whatever Hasbro feels like calling him.

No problem, Cobotron. I actually photographed these guys 2 years ago in June 2014, along with some other Beast Machines galleries. When I went to add them to the site's database, I noticed that I hadn't added a Beast Machines gallery since May 2007 (over 9 years 2 months ... before the first live action Transformers movie). Kind of crazy!

Is it a dead/dying battery not holding or able to charge or is a charging plug/pack issue? Hopefully it'll get fixed soon! You have my sympathies.

Unfortunately, no. I have 3 batteries and two chargers (mostly for my business related travel trips) which enables me to test multiple configurations. You can test whether or not it's a battery issue by plugging in the laptop and removing the battery. If the laptop remains powered, then it's not a battery issue. The laptop isn't recognizing that the charger is connected. No errors or anything **, which leads me to believe that the issue is with either the DC Port or the motherboard itself. I'm pretty adept at disassembling computers (especially the extremely easy to disassemble MSI laptops that are extremely modular) but soldering is currently above my skill level, which is what's required for the DC port. Hopefully the DC port is what needs to be fixed and the motherboard is not what needs to be replaced. Fingers crossed!
** For the past 4 to 6 months, the laptop has been randomly turning itself off. Another symptom of a power related issue. Once I go get back into windows, there's usually a "critical thermal error" in the Windows error logs. I've extensively cleaned out the inside of the laptop, verified that the fan is working appropriately, removed the old thermal paste in two locations and replaced with fresh thermal paste, updated drivers, disabled the Nvidia GeForce drivers, and many other changes to no avail over the past few months. At some point, it's just a hardware issue and something needs to be replaced on a 4.5 year old power house gaming machine (MSI GT70 OND) that I use extensively every day and which gets a lot of abuse.

As are my own hopes in this scenario that it's something that can be fixed and something like the DC port. I do have some familiarity here with what you're saying. Before getting sick I used to do computer repair before my health issues hit me really hard and I had to back off of things. When I got my settlement I switched from a laptop back to a desktop. I actually walked my dad through how to build a PC (and he did phenomenal) with it. I couldn't myself because of the side effects of my medication at the time. I still have my laptop, although I don't use it much now for things as often. I'm on my desktop more commonly now, which is good I guess.

Beast Wars Tuesdays continues! We return to the Seibertron.com series of galleries showcasing the products of the 90s that had to do with Beast Wars, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo - given the anniversary of the first series this year - with the three amigos from Beast Wars II: DJ, Gimlet and Motorarm, and their combined form, Tripledacus.
The Jointron brothers are the Japanese counterparts to the Hasbro Tripredacus set (Ram Horn, Sea Clamp and Cicadacon), and feature cicada/torso DJ, legs/lobster Gimlet, and arms/beetle Motorarm, each with a new deco and available as both a gift set and as single figures - probably for the best, given their obnoxious characterisation in the animated series. Check out the full galleries by clicking on any of the images below!

It's time again to celebrate Seibertron's Beast Wars Tuesdays! Tis on this day we bring you new, fresh galleries of all your favorite classic Beast Wars and Machines toys, plus some really far-out variants. We might have one of the latter today as we take a look at the Takara Beast Wars C-5 Rattle (Or as you might know him, Rattrap!) That green sticker signifies and certifies him a variant, so he's fair game for Beast Wars Tuesdays! As with all other Seibertron galleries, a selection of photos has been presented below, and you can view the full gallery by clicking on any of them! Find all the Beast Wars Tuesdays galleries here!
And, as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all the latest Transformers news!

In a sudden plot twist, that has nothing to do with international political scenarios, we bring you another instalment on Seibertron.com's Beast Wars Tuesdays... on a Wednesday!
Join us this week as we keep fleshing out the Maximal ranks with not one but two galleries from the loveable but deadly mechanical expert and spiritual core to the team: Rhinox. The rhinoceros alt-mode equipped character comes in two versions for the Japanese Takara Tomy Transformers release, both from 1996 - with C-7 as a standalone packaged toy, and V-7 as part of a two-pack with Predacon Shadow Panther. Both identical in their paint changes, which added black eyes and a grey coat to the Deluxe Hasbro release (check it out here). Click on any image below for the full galleries, and check out more Beast Wars Tuesdays news stories here!

Not necessarily true. If I understand Takara Rhinox correctly, the US version was originally released as C-7 Rhinox, then the one I have a gallery of here with the green sticker was the "running" change. The VS-7 two pack version is a 3rd version of the toy that was not available in the C-7 package as far as I'm aware. If I recall correctly, Sabrblade Powered Convoy pointed these variants out to me a while back while I was on my hunt for the Scorponok dark purplish/black variant (or just prior to, can't remember exactly): viewtopic.php?f=4&t=100772&p=1746131&hilit=rhinox#p1746131

I hope Reprolabels does a Gigastorm set for TR Trypticon, especially since they now have parts in their conversion sets. Seems like it'd be so easy.

I always wished that Takara would have done a release of Megastorm retooled from the smaller, more articulated Hero Megatron mold so that he could scale better with the rest of his team instead of towering over all of them, as he was only the second-tallest Predacon in the show, second only to Galvatron in height (who himself was bigger than everyone else but not too much bigger).
Now, that all changed when he became Gigastorm, as by then he did supersede everyone's height, with only Magnaboss and Galvatron's dragon mode able to come near to his height.
In fact, because Gigastorm was so big, the cartoon actually made one of the very first uses of an official in-universe explanation for size-changing, years before Dreamwave or IDW would come up with the "mass-shifting", "parts compression", and "mass-displacement" explanations. In the show, Gigastorm had become so big that he could no longer fit inside the Predacon's fortress mothership. In order to make him fit inside, he would have be subjected to an "Elemental Particle Control Beam", fired at him by the ship, which would shrink him down to a more manageable size (roughly the same height as his brother). The effects of this beam would seemingly remain indefinite, or at least until he'd leave the ship. Whenever he'd be seen back outside the ship, he always be back to his original size, but we were never shown him actually regaining that size onscreen. We can only speculate that the effects either wore off whenever he left the ship, or were reversed by another size-changing method that he needed to be subjected to upon leaving the ship.
Though, one time, in an episode where Gigastorm finally made his ambitions to overthrow Galvatron known to his brother, as he and Galvatron fought each other, Galvatron punished Gigastorm for his treasonous behavior by subjecting him to a much greater dose of the Elemental Particle Control Beam, which shrunk Gigastorm down all the way to toy size. Galvatron picked up his pint-sized brother and starting pulling on his limbs and tail like how a child would improperly play with a toy, as part of further punishing Gigastorm. He was back to his normal height by the next episode, though, evidently having suffered enough punishment to fall back in line under Galvatron's thumb.
I recently learned that Gigastorm being a Cyborg Beast is a bit of a misnomer. Though he played a role in upgrading the Combatrons into the Cyborg Beasts, it turns out that he wasn't a Cyborg Beast himself in the original Japanese fiction. Only in the IDW Beast Wars Sourcebook was he declared a Cyborg Beast (or "Cyber Beast", as the Sourcebook called them), based on the longstanding (but mistaken) fan belief that he too was one of them.Va'al wrote:the upgraded Arch-Duke of Destruction featuring the Full Tilt redeco into Gigascouter, on the other hand, is the Cyborg Beast Supreme class Trypticon repurposing, with new added nose horn.

Still own Jetstorm (recently sourced his redeco too) and Powerpinch. Although I lost one arm/side of bug head, as his ball joint elbow grew too loose and I didn't know how to fix it back in the day.
Transquito was always a favourite too. I like how he and Jetstorm shared a similar head sculpt. Evoking an association between them, that was never elaborated on.
