A major part of these details are regarding the Generations Devastator figure which was confirmed to exist in the Toysrus database at a 179.99$ canadian price tag.
Here are the notes he took down after talking with his supplier.
"Just got great news(regarding Generations Devastator) from my supplier:
- All new mold
- Awesome
- Huge
- Box are metroplex sized
- Combination of voyagers and 1 leader (the number of bots inside the box are not confirmed yet - sorry for the mess)
- green
- sdcc will be yellow
Also
G1 box set:
- Blaster
- perceptor
- Insecticon
- Trypticon
- g1 cone head set"
CATZ has proven to be a reliable source in the past as it was he who first posted about the first waves of Movie Advanced Series toys like Dispensor.
This seems to answer a lot of questions people have been asking recently, although Hasbro has yet to make an official announcement. So remember, Keep calm and discuss in the Energon Pub Forum!

I would love a titan sized trypticon generations figure.

never had the original toys for him and i'm a sucker for G1, so while i don't have that big a collection, sometimes i see one i just gotta have. (last time being Masterpiece Soundwave)
ironically i do have the original G1 Metroplex (still mint in box because i didn't play with him a lot back in the day) but never got the new one.

I guess we will have to wait and see. This seems almost too good to be true. As for the Generations Devastator, who would the leader class figure be? seems like they would use a mold they can reuse, to recoup development cost. Why not two voyagers for the torso?........
Posted by Noideaforaname on January 14th, 2015 @ 11:29am CST
Reissue Trypticon would probably be stupid expensive given how much they're charging for the Insecticons...

I wouldn't be surprised if Scrapper gets the shaft. They'll just repaint Generations Scoop as him as a separate figure.
It's a shame. I want to be excited but I already broke down and got a Green Giant. (Plus I have the Classics and G2 versions) I can't afford another expensive Devastator set.

I would guess it's Hook. Looking at Hercules, the upper part of the torso could have been bulkier, and a somewhat larger Voyager/smaller Leader size might do the trick.
Or maybe one of the figures is designated Leader because it incorporates some of the additional pieces/kibble that complete the Devastators look (such as the forearms and chest shield)?
I'm excited to learn more!
EDIT: Thinking about it, I could also see the Leader being Long Haul... a large Devy would certainly benefit from Leader sized hips...

Blozor wrote:Still would like a Trypticon that could stand toe-to-toe with Generations Metroplex, not be kicked around by him. Wishful thinking, I know, but I've always liked Trypticon and would love an updated version. Besides, I still have the original G1 Trypticon, so the reissue will be a pass for me, too. Unfortunatelt, if they reissue him with an insane price point amd he doesn't sell, Hasbro will interpret that as lack of interest and use it as justification to not pursue a costly new mold after Metroplex reportedly generated a "Meh" response.
If this is true, and this is the only official Trypticon we will be getting (and it conflicts with other things I have read, so I'm not 100% sure it is) I'll be plunking down for the Maketoys city-bots.

This is of interest... though I'd REALLY be interested in a Generations remake of Trypticon. With modern tech and articulation, they could probably do wonders with it. Titan Metroplex can actually pose, unlike the G1 brick Metroplex. I'd pay for a Titan Trypticon....

My fear is that he will be an oversized version of a PCC combiner. Good torso with gangly limbs.X wrote:The more info I hear about this new Devastator, the more I think its going to be a huge stand alone plastic pile of suck.
The box is supposed to be Metroplex-sized? If that's true, then I'm guessing he will come separated in the box, with each figure having its own little space. If he is as big as Metroplex when combined, then those are just bad proportions.

If all 6 Constucticons were voyagers, the constraints of Devastator's design would probably place Hasbro's Devastator at around the same height as TFC Hercules. But even Leader figure would also have to fold up and become a big ole block of combiner fodder, so the revelation of a Leader team member aside, I still can't see Generations Devastator being more than an inch or so taller than Hercules.
Hmmm.

Also
G1 box set:
- Blaster
- perceptor
- Insecticon
- Trypticon
- g1 cone head set"
And then we have this:

Yeah, I dont think so. The brand is alive and well and G1 looks anything but dead right now. I am happy to be a fan even if none of what is written above is happening (though we all know quite a bit of it is)

Long Haul makes sense since those types of trucks are huge in real life, well as a matter of fact all the modern equivalents of the Constructicons are bigger than most people would think.

He probably won't be. Metroplex was tall, but simple and hollow in robot mode. The amount of engineering going into a combiner would require much more (and sturdier) parts. Plus, Titan Class is just a price point, not necessarily a size class.

Comics aside, we need (read: I want) 6 Constructicons.
It'd be mighty weird if the Leader Constructicon was their to compensate for a deluxe Prowl that just turns into a head...

That's targeted towards a completely different market.

Maybe the Leader Class toy is Prowl? XD
But yes, an optional Prowl head would be cool, and make sense, since that's the only visual difference between normal Devy, and Prowl Devy.

I doubt it will be compatible with the other combiners. It would not be a stable toy even if it was feasible because of the weigh/size differences, and I would highly doubt that the existing connectors of the current figures could be compatible with a voyager sized figure.

$179.99 Canadian. The expected U.S. price with the current exchange rate puts it at about $149.99 USD. Going off the difference between the G1 Insecticons reissue in the Canadian listing ($99.99) versus the US shelf price ($79.99), the $149.99 estimate for the US price is very likely.

Maybe it will just some with a head that can pop on and off a ball joint.
I don't think Prowl will be incorporated at all. Just because he was in the comics doesn't mean it will happen in the toy line. At least officially. 3pt will be a option though.
I definitely do not see it being a legends figure, mainly because they will have a deluxe one of it later this year, with Mirage, Sunstreaker, and Ironhide. But, you never know.

After all, Venksta is also reputable, and he said that there were six roughly-Voyager-sized figures in the set.
At this point, I'm just gonna sit back and wait and see what comes out of this, rather than assume anything more than this thing's forthcoming existence.
As for the G1 reissues, I find those of Blaster, Perceptor, and the Insecticons to be a bit premature in their being rereleased, what with those ones having already had Hasbro rereleases just a few years ago.

Good point, and I agree. I don't see why they would have to make one a leader class. If they needed a bulkier figure for the core of the combiner, then they can either just make it slightly larger, or have two of the six form the torso, just like G1 Devastator.

G1 ended over 20 years ago. If you mean its influence, then yes, it will always be the core of Transformers because it started it all. And while I respect the line for what it was and still is, it is definitely long dead. If anything, this is a new generation of our old favorites. Just like G2, which took over for G1 when it ended. And in my opinion, this generation, or G3 as I like to call it, is far superior to its predecessors. This doesn't take away from G1 however, because without the original we have nothing.
