New investments in new molds plus the long dormant in plans but shelved but re implemented coronation set.
So the price is indeed justified. Money doesn't grow in trees (but from our drained pockets ).
Btw, Takara ain't forcing us to buy him right? We aren't like entitled to the price we want. This IS an expensive hobby.................heck, until now still saving for an MP-10 which I sooooooooo want but need to take care of other expenses first.

wow, remolded head and no hip kibble, but that still does not justify the price!
Honestly, I would buy it but not for the price of $160!
new head.....nothing big there.
sorry takara it's still a pass for me.
there you go transfans, more for you to sink your teeth into.
oh, and why does he have a penis now?

However, I hope that the repaints will omit the coronation set.

I do like the fact that he's not white though, unlike the previous Hasbro & Takara US Editions.

Seriously though, i agree with everyone else, lets see some new characters in the mix! More decepticons!

New molds for the arms, legs, null rays and pelvis area. Plus the coronation set.
And look at the plastic. It seems crispier. I hope the quality on this one is at par with MP-10. MY old seekers have warped and sagged plastic molds.
My only current gripe is the fact that the hands are still the same ball jointed ones.
I'm exited with this release.

So okat TakaraTomy, you can now tell me where my Masterpiece Soundwave and Masterpiece Shockave are. I've been waiting VERY patiently for those two.

We can only hope; additionally, I hope any future Masterpiece Galvatron includes a set of Starscream's feet, whcih were of course the only part left of him after Galcatron disentegrated hm ith that single fusion blast. Still one of the most cathartic moments in cinema from my childhood....
That thought occured to me too... I only hope that's the case. Perhaps this is genius rather than folly on Takara's part.
I'm less outraged at the price now, but I'm obviously still not getting it. I would if I didn't have MP-03. But I'd still rather have MP-10.

It also comes with more accessories, cape and stuff.

Regardless, this is supposed to be their answer to iGear. Not a very impressive response when they're charging 50% more... It's like iGear just got off a scalding blast and HasTak's comeback was 'I know you are but what am I?'

and i was just thinking to myself before these pix surfaced and all we had was a confirmation, that I found it hard to imagine Takara making a better figure...well, they did it.

No not regardles, the toy is priced in yen, the prices we've seen until now are Dollar and Pounds, converted from yen.
So while the price in Japan might be about the same as the original MP Starscream, converted to dollar it would be higher than before since the dollar is weaker than back then.
If that still makes no sense to you, read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_rate
And add to that, that material and production costs have gone up and you'll see why this is so much more expensive.

Yeah, and also need to take into consideration that overseas online retailers are taking a larger cut.

I understand that the conversion rate is worse...so what? iGear's seekers still cost $100 including shipping! The point is Takara's doing this in large part to combat iGear...but if I had plans to buy iGear's seekers, I don't know that this would dissuade me any because I'm still saving like $70 a piece after shipping sticking w/ iGear, regardless of the shitty exchange rate. You want to kick iGear in the nuts, sell this for the same price they're charging. Hell, charge less and really screw them!

That's my sentiment as well. I can't help but feel that they're getting lazy, but we'll know for sure once pics come out. If it's a completely new mould, and they are starting over in a new scale, then it does make sense to get the popular characters out first. Although it would have been nice if it was Megatron. We'll just have to wait and see.

I believe he is employed by Has/Tak. Are you too? Seriously? The reason I ask, is because my point was, he never disappoints with his info and I think that is a valuable asset to have on message boards.Blurrz wrote:HoosierDaddy wrote:I tried telling you guys a while back it was Starscream. lol right here

That part was more speculation by the other people. He never stated that but he tried to explain in a way that wouldn't get him in trouble with his employers and that is the way people took it. I just carried that sentiment over when I posted.

And of course, I'd love to see MP Soundwave, Shockwave, and Jetfire released. Jetfire first. I would not complain one bit if any of those were released before TC or Galvatron
Posted by Firebird on October 25th, 2011 @ 9:08am CDT
I wish Takara had just released this version with the pre Kawamori legs originally.
I really like how the cape is made out of 2 pieces allowing it to be spread out, thats pretty clever. And the shoulder pads and crown look more movie accurate than the TF toys upgrade.
