Continuing the
good news theme for fans of the Transformers Animated series comes a hint that the
rumoured cancellation of the toyline is likely to be just that; Rumour.
Veloxiraptor of
TFW has received his copy of the Transformers Collector Clubs Magazine, and noticed some new names on the toy pre-order slip:
Deluxe: "Ratchet" and "Freeway Jazz".
Voyager: "Blackout" and "Wingblade Optimus Prime".
No pictures of the toys has been released, but Blackout's Animated show's designs from both
Robot Mode and
Alt Mode have been previously leaked.
So what can we expect from these other figures? Speculate away.

Front Paged MegaZarak.
Guessing Blackout will be in the Lugnut/Bulkhead theme, a huge show character who will end up being a fairly small but bulky Voyager.
Wingblade Optimus sounds simialr to the Hydrodive Bumblebee (from just the name) where it may be a deluxe figure with an add-on, but since Hydrodive seems to have been cancelled, I doubt it is the case.
If it is Prime with a trailer, it'll be another small Voyager figure...

Gee..didn't see this coming (rolling eyes)
I'm sorry, this line HAS been pretty successful...and right now, Hasbro probably doesn't want to sink the cost into developing a new line with the economy as mediocre as it is. I had a feeling when we saw who leaked the 'Animated Line Cancelled" story that it would turn out to be crap.

I took that canceled story as crap, but on the rare chance it was just a ploy by someone to gather marketing data on if the line SHOULD continue, I acted accordingly (as if it were real).
So, I'm glad to see this isn't the end!
I still need me a Unicron (larger!) sized Omega Supreme figure with tiny figurines in the cockpit and Allspark in the loading bay!
I can dream. : )

i was kinda glad at the news that animated was to be terminated - definitely not a fan. Their main success was how close to their screen incarnations they were esp compared to other tf lines. I think my main prob is that they're too cute looking - too fisher price. They're not menacing alien robots from a distant planet. Also - i bought a deluxe optimus prime for my nephew and it was pretty awful in QA - the legs were too difficult to pull out for me let alone a 6 year.
i did enjoy the toon but mainly due to the g1 references and there were some interesting concepts and characters.

I took me awhile, but here's my gripes with the line:
--They need more long-range weaponry. I want to see guns and long barrels here. Too many melee weapons, or in some cases, none at all!
Long-range weapons = some neutralization of them looking "too kiddy" to potential buyers.
--Paint jobs on some figures have been TERRIBLE. Oddly, some are excellent.
--Didn't buy Blackarachnia because her decepticon symbol was gold lol. (Hee.)

Somebody out there stop making all these damn rumors up! your makin me nuts! with all this it's off then it's on bullcrap-- i'm glad that this is going to stay online-- and i might goes as far to say- that this line is keeping up with the(2009) movie line- in my opinion(((from what i've seen so far)))- and if done right, may surpass- if there are toys like -wheeljack -omega supreme- and many others -done in this style of transformer. I think that many people like the fresh new look given to many of the animated figures- where as the movie line is in it's own right-new and bold- only many of the figures are of reality type - to many this may still be great- but originality seems to always win in the end!!!!!!!!-- just keep them comin k-----

Well I thought most of the Animated toys had gold and silver faction symbols. You should pick up Blackarachnia if you can still find it(and it was such a shelfwarmer, you probably can). It's pretty much the best fembot mold ever.

That "Ratchet" could simply be a re-insertion into the line - returning major characters in their original forms to the rotation every now and then. It happened with Bumblebee recently... and Samurai Armor Prowl, minus his sidecar, is quite close to regular Prowl. This would be the third and final Autobot Deluxe to be returned to the pegs...
I wouldn't be surprised if Wingblade Optimus was only a slight modification/addition to the original Voyager mold, making him available for all the kids, a second time around.

What does that mean exactly? He has a different trailer in nearly every episode...

hasbro said a long time ago in a q/a that there would probably be a prime figure further down the line with a trailer that made him at least make him look like a fire truck

Halle-fricking-lujah!!
I did realise the rumour was started by a compulsive liar but I still didn't think we'd get much after Arcee.
Can't wait to see Blackout and here's hoping for a Rodimus.
This has officially made my day.

I was thinking the line wasn't cancelled and hasbro was just taking a break from it while the ROTF line is out. I'm glad it isn't cancelled.

Well, I for one hope Hasbro will keep the Animated line alive in some form throughout the RotF line. I know that's a longshot, but I'd much rather spend my $$$ on some of the new Animated molds/designs we've seen than on the movie line.
Here's hoping!

I'm so excited to hear this. I'm loving the Animated figures. I want me a Soundblaster, mainly because Ratbat looked SOOOO cool! I do want an Arcee as well. I would also like an Omega Supreme figure. I hope they do Rodimus, Alpha Trion, and Dai Atlus as figures as well. When are they going to release the Constructicons? I love this incarnation of them. Animated Perceptor would be cool, too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the future brings us.
P.S. YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!

I talked to my friend who works at target he is friends with some of the vendors they told him this leaked news was a ploy to sell as many of the animated line before movie figs go out. The first priority will be the new movie toys if there is still room on shelves they will sell animated and universe, if not they will clearence all of what they have and sell any new animated products at a later date. At target they will have to clearence a lot of toys soon to make room for the massive about of items coming out and room for devastator. The first week of june is when they hit shelves at target and apparently they may have it when u scan a fig at the check out you are limited to one of the same item only. Expect and entire side of an aisle for transformers and gi joe toys. This is all my friend told me because apparenlty the vendors have to keep quiet(Micheal Bay said so!).
