Saw Prime almost a month ago, but hadn't realized it was news! What does Grimlock say?? Please tell me it's a G1 voice chip. I'll throw my money at it!

I saw these the other day. Optimus Prime has Peter Cullen's voice and Grimlock has a generic voice but I must admit, it does sound pretty good. It doesn't sound like Gregg Berger, but it sounds like a deep giant barbarian type of a voice (if that even made sense). He says things like 'Grimlock destroy!', 'I want to munch metal' stuff like that. I hate these titan things, but I might just get Grimlock because he talks and didn't talk in the movie.

They're still crummy shampoo bottles. Only now they can annoy you with screechy sounds!

Those Titans are so boring and silly. I'm still trying to figure out what their purpose is. I can't understand why they exist. I realize they're for kids because they're simplistic and that's fine, but the kids that would like these are too little to see or even enjoy the films anyway.

Maybe it's these that are the toys that Rick Sellers and other voice actors recorded lines for.

To be sure, what phrases does the Grimlock toy say?

Or perhaps, these are just all the DOTM ones that failed to sell, repackaged, and ditched the mtech weapon...? Maybe hasbro figured it was better to just eat the cost of the mechtech weapons and use this old figure than it was to make 'new' ones.... A sign that even they've given up trying to improve this thing.

They're slight repaints, if you must know. Check the galleries for comparisons.

And "repackagings" is a total misnomer. Despite the name, they're nothing more than new product runs using the exact specifications of an older toy. Hasbro does not do repackaging nor buying back stock: stores sell unsold stock to other stores for cheap.

Actually Hasbro bought back Rise of Cobra movie figures from Wal Mart that were sitting on shelves to get the chain to carry Pursuit of Cobra.

That's a relief...I was worried by the pic on the TRU site whether the Classics Prime had both guns or not, since the pic showed him without the smokestacks/rifle in both modes, but the pic of the box on the shelf looks like he has it still. Has anyone gotten the set and can confirm this, though? I wanna know before I drop $50 for it.

Darren K Nelson of the Wichita Transformers Fans Facebook group has reported that the Platinum Edition Silver Knight Optimus Prime has been spotted at a few Targets in the Wichita, KS area. This is a redeco of the first edition leader class mold that was originally exclusive to Amazon. The deco includes chromed thighs and chest.

That being said, the only way I'm getting him is if I can find him on clearance.

This is one of those cases where I know it's a bad, overpriced mold, but the deco is enough to make me want it anyway. Something about the chrome and metallic shades on this one just pops. I wish it didn't. Oh well, off to check Target!

Did you get the Target 2 pack silver knight optimus with Grimlock? Because the deco on that deluxe optimus prime is Phenimenal! So, if you dont have it yet, make sure you get it at Target while you are there.

And JelZe GoldRabbit, I know what you wanted. I just find that picture so hilarious that I include it anywhere possible. So when you asked to see the vehicle mode, I thought it was a great opportunity to use that picture again to show that it was possible for someone to show us both modes of Silver Knight Optimus if they wanted to.

The Platinnum Silver Knight OP looks awesome.
I ran out to Target and picked one up today.
The sixty bux took some convincing of myself though.

They also had this six pack of bots:
IMG_20140909_153305.jpg

But lacking the appeal of Animated Activators(basically the same idea),
which I did like, I couldnt pull the trigger.
But the Slug looks really nice from the set(the only one I liked)

The in-hand pictures look better than the official ones from Target website.
It seems they took photos of a toy without the silver paint applications ...

First we got our three-pack, which includes the highlight of the set, Stinger.

Then we got our six Legends figures, which include Stinger.

Then we got our two-packs with Dinobots and Legends, featuring Stinger.

And then comes our Construct-Bots Strafe set, which has Stinger.

We feel these Walmart sets will offer a new experience (and did we mention Stinger?).

Just found the Evolution Optimus Prime set yesterday at the Woodfield area TRU, thanks to a local poster, char_leigh.

FWIW, I noticed a couple of QC faults with the Classics mold. The side panel in truck mode that flips down over the leg in robot mode has part of it painted red to match the cab. Mine was missing paint around the edges of the right side panel, so the blue showed through glaringly. Also, the left knee pad has a smudge in the silver paint. Lastly, the right shoulder is loose in the forward/backward rotation.

The only one of these issues that can be seen in in the box is the knee pad smudge, I don't think you can see the red face of that side panel in robot mode, but a little paint will fix that.

Livedoor isn't the name of the blog, it's the name of the blog service like Wordpress or Blogger. This is the FuRyu official blog. ;)

Proportions are really strange on this one. I ordered one off HLJ a while back, but now I think I'll cancel. Too bad, the Prime figure looks really good!

Yeah, he looks really awkward with two hands, but with the gun and battle mask the figure looks far better. I changed my mind about canceling my order, I think with paint he'll be a pretty solid figure. Plus I'm getting him for less than the cost of a Hasbro Deluxe so really don't have anything to loose.

Actually, if you figure that the One-Step changers are around $9-10 each, and you're also getting Slug before his individual release, PLUS an exclusive Silver Knight Optimus figure, it's a deal. Individually, they'd be around $54-60 total, plus there's the exclusive figure.

Fellow fan and collector, Blacklai, has posted a pictorial review of the soon to be released Autobots Unite figure boxset! The set consists of film accurate redecos of Deluxe Class figures Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Drift, plus Voyager Class figures Hound and (Evasion Mode) Optimus Prime. Price and release date information has not been released as of yet, but as soon as we know, you will. Until then, let these pics whet your whistle.

These look really nice with all the little details painted in (taillights anyone?). But it really gets to me that alot of my main problems with their decos aren't fixed. Drift is still blue, not even dark blue or navy blue, just blue. And John Goodbot still has a black beard which makes him look like a pirate. I think it was silver in the movie. At any rate, considering what these will surely cost, I really wish they would have done some more obvious stuff.

Sorry to be another negative nancy, but...

Hooray, the OP repaint/remold everyone wanted in a likely cost-prohibitive set that no one will buy! :BANG_HEAD:

That said, these decos look really great compared to the originals. If I was collecting AoE and was lucky enough to have NOT already picked these characters up, this would be a must-buy.

Not really my problem because as usual, TrU hate Québec.

As I was seeing these pictures, I was "ooh-ing" and "aah-ing" at the incredible insight they had to bother painting the damn rear-lights! Appart that, not much differences to justify paying a premium.
Well, appart that Hound who is now totally Movie Bulkhead! :x

So I've been a bit remiss in acquiring any AOE toys, partly due to being out of town, partly because the movie aesthetic bugs me more than a little. But semi-completeist that I am, I'm still interested in getting at least one representation of each deluxe/voyager/leader(possibly) mold. The Autobots Unite and Dinobots Unleashed 5-packs seem like a great start, but what else should I wait for before I start hunting individual figures? Are there any planned repaints of Snarl/Slash? Do Lockdown and Galvatron only exist on their own? Are the Leader versions of Optimus/Grimlock worth the price/space?

It seems the Autobots are getting preferential treatment with all the releases. The Breakout Battle is another to look out for, as it has the "rusty" Prime as seen in the movie. So far, Lockdown and Galvatron are on their own without any repaints, and with none announced that'll remain the case. The Leader versions are worth looking into at the very least, but avoid the First Edition! Keep in mind that Optimus Prime will get show-accurate retooling done by TakaraTomy, and that both are available in a 2-pack, with Grimlock in black.
