Front Paged and Credited.
I like them, they kinda look like the eggbots. I was ironicly reading the GIJoe/Transformers TPB (Jay Lee and John Ney Reiber) last night and when I was looking over the sketches at the back, I was thinking to myself that I wouldn't mind the headphones if they resembled the sketch of Rumble.

I'd get a set if it wouldn't cost me a small fortune.

Clean your ears......

Yeah I wish they were like the ones Sony released for the PSP. They wrap around your ear but have no head band. Would have given them more to work with as well.

I have a problem with them. They are working earphones with poor transformers built in, which doesn't make them all that interesting as Transformers. I doubt the sound quality will be up to much with the design having to incorporate the transformation. If they didn't work as earphones they could probably have a better design but then who would want a pair of fake headphones hanging about?
While I can see the worth of MP3 Soundwave (I want one) I just don't get these. They are little more than a novelty.

May get em if i get Soundwave, just foe completeness's sake, but I cant say I think they're a particualy brilliant idea.

but then I remember the price, and it doesn't seem worth defacing a pair of headphones.

I think they are the kind that wrap over your ear. We are looking at the outside of the earphone only in both pics. Look at the alt mode and you will see the ear clips sticking out from below. The teathering is a bit comical but also hindering. I am not sure how much I would display them in their robot mode because of the cord.

I hate when they do stuff like this, they get your mouth watering with something cool like the mp3 Soundwave, then give you some half baked crapped like this.
What would have been cool are a regular set of headphones, with these guys clipped to the sides with their guns attatched like you would have to have them if you didn't have Soundwave. They'd look like some cool antenas or something.
From there they could jump off your head and transform while your jamming out and kill your enemies!

Good eye! They do indeed wrap around the ear. Man these guys are gonna be quite good sized. And no wax!

These are only initial pics. Perhaps if we are lucky- Frenzy and Rumble will detach from the ear piece. It's not too far of a stretch.

I think what Evilmus means, and I agree, the transforming earbuds are a gimmick just for the sake of a gimmick, and those are worst kind.

It's hard to see, but it apprears that the wires are plug in. Hopefully these little guys can detatch from the wires. Plus these are very basic prototypes. The basic mat grey means they are early protos, not yet detailed or possably lacking some edges and additions.

Yeah, but they still look nothing like their namesakes. Not that that's anything unusual in TF land. But when paired with a guy who you can tell they took painstaking measures to look like his G1 namesake, you would expect more of the same quality in design.
I realy wish my bots weren't packed away right now(moving soon)otherwise I'd take a dummy shot of something that would look alot cooler and continue the homage.
Besides, how often have we ever seen a retail ready bot differ from the prototypes in any way beyond paint apps?

MP Starscream is the best example I can think of off of the top of my head. I'm pretty sure the Music Label Soundwave we've seen isn't close to the finished product.

You are correct, Music Label Soundwave has already gone through mold changes. Look at the alt modes and robot modes of the white and blue Soundwave and you will notice that they are different.

Oh good, I'm not going crazy. I thought the robot mode and the cassette mode were differnt in the moulds. I noticed by looking at the arms and then where they would be on the cassette mode.stormrider wrote:Down_Shift wrote:Liege Evilmus wrote:Besides, how often have we ever seen a retail ready bot differ from the prototypes in any way beyond paint apps?

WOW! I respect your insite into all this, but where do you guys find time knit pick these photos down to the smallest details like that!?!
I wait till I own them before that happens.
If this sounds offensive, believe me, I don't mean it to be.

Actually, it was pretty easy to see that the white and blue Soundwave were not identical. When the pictures came out, the pictures were side by side. The discrepency is exactly what Downshift described.
I have a feeling that Music Label Soundwave will appear in the new Dengenki Hobby Magazine which is due out in two days. Maybe it will include better photos of the mold changes.

Oh no offence taken. It didn't sound offensive in my head. I try and read things the way I would write them before I react to them anyway:wink:
Like Stormrider said, when the pics first surffaced they were side by side and pretty blown up. I can't wait for that mag to come out in a few days! Fan2fan had better have some colored pic and soon!
