Huge thanks to Cyberpath for posting what may not be an exaggeration to call a ton of new official photos (38 of them!) of MP-52 Starscream ver.2.0 in the Seibertron Energon Pub forums! We've got photos from store listings, like from Hobby Link Japan, photos from Dengeki Hobby Web, and photos comparing photos to the cartoon scenes they're based on. It's a lot to look at, showing off all of the ridiculous things this figure can do and all of his accessories. Plus, thanks to the aforementioned store listings we now know the official untaxed Japanese MSRP is ¥28,000 JPY or about $265 USD, but we're already seeing the price as low as $203 USD at AmiAmi and possibly even lower once Amazon Japan gives their global delivery listing price. And if you still find that price too high, well, you've got until June 2021 to save up!
There's a lot to see so I wont take up time gushing about wing storage, the many expression choices, or the ridiculously obscure accessories. Enjoy the phots and let us know what you think in the forums!

Day 282 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.
Appears to come with the same one from Dinobot, but in purple. Same exact price as Dinobot, and for that matter Black Convoy, too. Seems the 28,000 JPY price is the current standard upper price point now (MP-43 Beast Megatron and MP-44 Optimus Prime are the only ones to ever exceed that).

No waist swivel, but he does have a rare ab crunch so that's nice.

The rounded off hands and limbs really have destroyed Masterpiece for me. I what sharp edges. I want mechanical detail! They're machines! Take us back to the original MP aesthetic please!
Saying all that, I understand some people like this shift and I'm glad they're enjoying it. Just not for me.

dunno if I can justify the price, you can't help but think that if they really wanted to, they could make a much cheaper version as a voyager in the SS line that would be a great compromise for most G1 fans...

Plus that backpack is impressively small and compact. Those who complained about it may change their mind once they see those pictures.
Once the official Amazon.JP preorders are up, I will SMASH that button!
angtre wrote:I'm actually surprised it doesn't come with his trademark cape & crown.
I'm actually releived. This would have boosted the overall price significantly. Especially if they'd did like for MP-11.

For the low low price of $50 ... you can place a deposit and pre-order him, then come 30 June 2021 you can take him for an extra $459! Just run up your credit card, then submit your tax return the next week and take full advantage of ScoMo's tax cuts! *BOOM*
P.S. Fuck you TakaraTomy for pricing so many of us out of the MP market.

Wow.
If Amazon.JP ship to Australia (and it would be surprising if they wouldn't) just order from them when the listing go live. Unless some American store pull a Target, it will be the best price.

I'm waiting for the REAL listing, meaning from Amazon.JP themselves. The price will be the right one, and they ship internationally.
That's what I thought but wasn't sure. This is the one though, right?

Still not the right one, but the price is better.
The official is still not up. In your search, you have to at least check the "international shipping" box.

Guess I haven't watched G1 in a long time to remember/notice that. I also just learned it's intentional due to if you are flying in a squadron of Jets you want to identify who is on your team when you are flying above/beside them. That's why the logo is facing the way it does in jet mode and why it's upside down in robot mode. Regardless I still prefer having the logo not upside down in robot mode myself. It also seems like some toys and media can't decide whether the logo should be right side up or upside down. Ha, ha.

Its one of those things that change depending on which version you are looking.
In the comics and instructions of the original toy,the logo is in the standard orientation.

Oh I have no intention of buying this guy regardless of who's cheaper.
Great looking figure, but I've already invested close to a thousand dollars in six Seekers already and they're more than adequate for my MP collection.

Other than the Megatron gun, I could pass on almost everything else.
I guess I can be glad there isn't more that would've upped the price even more.

Not surprising. G1 Cartoon Starscream wasn't exactly written to be more than a one-trick-pony who was about as subtle as a brick.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Weird thing is, I am really liking how this toy looks, and I am now debating pre-ordering him based on his looks rather than as him as a character

Starscream for the most part is one of my least favorite and most overused transformers, but this toy looks pretty great. I hear what he was supposed to be, but outside of his Prime/RiD2015 incarnation and maybe his Armada one, he feels overused and just not good.

What about Cybertron and Animated? Those series at least had the common sense to make him legitimately ambitious while also smart enough to keep his treachery to himself until the right moment to strike. And when he was found out in both, he struck out on his own to certain degrees of success and never came crawling back to Megatron to futilely beg for forgiveness.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not surprising. I did enjoy Animated Scream to an extent, but he more annoyed me than anything as he kept trying. And Cybertron Starscream just pales to his Armada self, only thing i really care to remember about Cybertron Screamer was his giant phase

But what if G1 Starscream were to be officially FEMALE, like the confused French dubbers of the 1986 movie did?

-Armada Starscream is nº1.
-Movie Starscream has one of my favorite backstories for him.Protecting hatchlings before becoming a Decepticon.
-Beast Wars II Starscream has the best ally,BB;the IDW Beast Wars sourcebook gives a good context for their friendship
Thanks for this.I was wondering what the face was for.

Anyway, they've clearly put a lot of effort into this MP, design-wise. Is there anyone aside from the other Seekers that could, if not share the mold, adapt some of the engineering? Blitzwing or Powerglide, for example?

I can't even begin to guess how they'll adapt the Coneheads to this mold (or vice versa) considering how the wing storage works and two of those guys having full length wings which would require the rear of the jets to be altered somehow.

Yup. And the price is right.
Preordered. 318$CAN taxes and shipping included is the best price I'll ever get.
And I'm sure there's no Target or the like who will sell him and put in on clearance for 30$ 3 weeks after having it on the shelves.
