The new figure just happens to be MP-4S Convoy Sleep Mode. This Masterpiece is meant to represent a deactivated Optimus Prime or Primus forbid, a dead Optimus Prime.
Other than the new colour scheme for the main figure, the container of MP-4S will be in Crystal Clear plastic. (Note: the trailer image here is not the final product)
MP-4S Convoy Sleep Mode is only available in limited quantity of 2010 pieces and exclusively for Japan market. Each toy will come with a serial number, from 0001 - 2010.
Check out the figure below!

It seems the MP line could be dead and they are just trying to squeeze what they can from what they've got

Maybe they'll do a Sleepy MP Starscream? At least it wouldn't take up much space on a display shelf.

I concur It's interesting, but would be much more so with battle damage. I'm not talking about the Hasbro paint splashes and penciled in cracked windshields, let's see some real chunks torn out, especially in the mid-section since Prime was mercilessly pummled there in the movie.
What repaints are left of this mold now? They haven't done a clear one. Maybe a 'Rise from Grave' or 'Reanimation' version when brought back to life by the Quints? Or maybe a 'Supernova' version where he's about to crash into an exploding sun?

I gotta agree here. Really, this isn't much to write home about without any sculpted battle damage. This is just "came late Black Convoy." Although it does look like it's coming with a completely unchanged trailer ... maybe so collectors will have some reason to buy it?
The only real reason I can see this being made is to hype up the 2010 connection to TF lore. That's waht this and Ghost Screamer have in common. Although I'd MUCH rather see a Galvatron (or even a Hot Rod / Rodimus) than these repaints I'll never buy.

Just because I don't like it, doesn't mean I don't want it. It's like art

The trailer aspect makes it more appealing, but the 2010 pieces makes it less because all that means is it's going to be even more expensive...

Shouldn't the matrix light up more when he dies. His spark is being added to it, there is no reason that I can see that the matrix would die with him.

See I always thought that if the Matrix is not passed to another robot it would be lost forever. Give it is included with the figure I assume it was not passed in this case. Not including it all with the figure would also work 'theoretically' or one could just leave it out of the figure in the box altogether.
Need to check some TF lore.

I guess I need to check mine too, but I thought in Megatron Origins, Sentinel Prime died with the matrix in him.
In the movie, Magnus died before handing the matrix off to anyway. It was blown out of his hands.
Just saying.

But it was outside of his body at the time. That where I was going with it. It cannot be inside a dead leader's body.

Hey, Takara, while you're at it with the weird variants, how about an MP-04T. T stands for Trailer.
*crossing fingers for MP Hot Rod/imus Prime*... 2010 could be the year of Hot Rod!
Edit: OMFG! Notice how the front 2010 page has flames and what looks like Rodimus' arm? And how 'Sleep Mode' Convoy could be like a passing of the torch? DDDDDDUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDEEEEEEE I think we could be getting an MP Rodimus this year!
Edit2: Huh, comes with purple Megatron gun. Nice little touch.
I also like how no one in Japan can spell 'coming' properly.

Yeah I'm with you on that one. Hopefully this campaign releases a lot less silly repaints before we get to the prized figure.

I have the US release (with aftermarket long stacks & transforming trailer), the US DVD release (MIP), as well as the Nemesis and Magnus repaints.
But I actually can't believe they are dipping into this well AGAIN.

Looking at it, it seems to actually have a scar on his lower waist, but I wish it had remolded parts, I want it.

I'm going to start taking note of everything you "no" to, then if I ever get to your place i'm going to go through your collection and take your "lies".
They should fit in a backpack due to your lack of ability to say "no".

Just wait a half-month, then you'll see all my collection in updated pictures. Then you can have the fun of calling me out in public (if you can find any)

You can bet your life this thing is going to be very expensive. I can't imagine what it will to cost. My guess is $400.

I think you got two releases mixed up. Yes, MP-4S will be limited to 2010 pieces, no matter the retailer. The other is MP-1B Convoy Black Version, which looks similar but lacks the the trailer. That release had an exclusive comic when ordered directly from e-Hobby.

"*****NOTE***** Our version will be the Asian market version - it will numbered to 2010 but it will not be the ehobby version."
The same was stated at TFSource. So what does this mean for someone like me that's buying this for the collector's value and keeping it MISB? Should I try and get the ehobby version instead?
