My appologies if this has already been covered by someone. I do know of several threads involving the 2 versions of arcee and the dreadwing figure for the movie. Did not see anything about these 3 though.
my opinion on em? These look kinda cool, and I do like those molds, so I'd probably get them.
Oh might I add for those of you who decided to keep reading my comments without clicking the links first, as always these are from spx_toys

I think Hardtop remains my favourite though, his paint scheme is probably the most "realistic" of the lot.

(story-time: strongarm is one of my favorites smaller figs, anyway. right after i broke my arm, a friend saw strongarm in the universe line at family dollar and snagged it as a gift, without even realizing the irony of giving a figure named "Strongarm" to someone who just broke their arm!)
the clocker paint scheme is neat, BUT my problem is the cyberkey: it looks like its just a black version of speed planet key.... also, the 'part' that takes that key is detachable, wasn't it? why not just create a replacement "button-activated" weapon instead (and then, its something slightly new, without having to rehash the whole figure) but even still, why not create a new key that somehow ties to the movie - i'd imagine a 'sector 7' key wouldn't be bad, maybe with the same cube and S7 logo that Strongarm has?, or at least, use an autobot logo key?
big MEH to clocker, but i'll definitely be grabbing the other two.

Please do a Shortround repaint, he would look great in military colours like Sky Blast... and his robot mode is like half way between the normal, traditonial bots and the more 'alien' movie designs.

As for Clocker. I don't mind when the reissue figures that have been out of the loop for several years. It gives alot of people a chance to affordably catch up. But the Cybertron scouts are still all over the place.
I'm just asking that they give us time to miss the figure before bringing it back again. I can just see all 3 color variants of this guy now in a row of pegs one next to the other in Target, with the only real difference being 2 will be reduced to $4.83, while 1 is $6.99

Good point.

Scaleface wrote:Heck of a lot nicer than the "real" movie figures. Clocker looks like Bluestreak homage, and Strongarm is Brawn.
i actually prefer to think the strongarm as hound! which i will most certainly be picking up!

Stormrider wrote:So how does this work?
They work the same way repaints have "worked" in any TF toyline. It just so happens that it's more noticeable here than in something like Energon or Cybertron.
All of these movie scouts with the different style are Energon Omnicon or Cybertron Scout repaints, that's all.

If this movie tanks, the merchandising end of the deal will look incredibly stupid because they're rolling out everything it seems from the last few years and repainting it. But if it's successful.....

Strongarm looks like that cancelled BotCon Brawn remold.
And Skyblast is probably based on the G2 Cyberjet Jetfire.
I will pick them up if they're cheap.
Maybe they'll go even further back and repaint Bruticus again in S7 military colors; similar to the monochromatic WalMart exclusive.

The other 2, I already have their previous incarnations, so probably will pass on these. Unless Strongarm really looks good in person.
Clocker, i already have the swerve repaint, and I'm really not that fond of the mould. So that's a definite pass.

Strongarm's Sector 7 logo is on his shoulder. But i can't find the logo in either Skyblast nor Clocker.

My guesses are that these are homages to:
Hardtop=Swindle
(Realistally, not the Club-happy repaint we got in Cyb)
StrongArm=Hound
Clocker=Blurr, or a longstretch Prowl.
Stioll workin out Arcee/Skyblast.
PS, Are these gonna be available in stores, or as Movie promos with tickets,(read it somewhere on TFW) or what?

Flashwave wrote:Hmm. We're sure rthese are Movie?
Is there something difficult to grasp about seeing these in Movie packaging? Sorry, but yeah, definitely are. Arcee and Signal Flare have already been seen in movie packaging, and if some of them sporting Sector 7 logos doesn't scream MOVIE TIE-IN, then nothing will.
They're retail releases, and the Arcee repaint (not the new-mold Deluxe) had a Target Exclusive sticker on her.
EDIT: Added pic. See it and weep.

I think we already have a fine Classic Blurr with Cybertron Blurr. Okay, he's not a perfect match, but closer than the Clocker redeco.

I like Skyblast. I'm not a big fan of most Energon weapons, but at least these darker weapons look better than the bright colors actully used in Energon.
I like the Strongarm mold, but I don't like the greens. I wish it was a dark green, like Hound. There are going to be two versions of Strongarm, so hopefully the other version will have a paint job I like.

and I've been taking some more looks at these and can definetly see the g1 homages which I seemed to overlook before, but some of them definetly give a sector 7 vibe (even without the logo)

Jaz-Zen wrote:I like the Clocker repaint. The blue paint really "pops" IMO. But I wouldn't call it Bluestreak. I refuse to use the name of any character that was bigger than a mini-bot in G1, such as Bluestreak, for Basic-sized figure.
Little trivia - Clocker and Bluestreak both stand 11 cm tall! Toys are just bigger than they were back in the 80s. Mini-Bots were the size of Mini-Cons, and Autobot Deluxe Cars were more the size of today's basics.
Besides, that Brakedown GTS is a definitel Kup homage.
